MythFall Race Tier List – Best Race for Melee, Builds

Picking your first race in MythFall can feel like a huge decision, especially when rerolls are limited for most players. Every race offers different bonuses, and while some are designed around magic, others are built for melee combat or critical-hit focused playstyles.

After looking through every race currently available at launch, there are already a few clear winners. Some races are excellent no matter what content you’re playing, while others are much more niche and only shine under specific conditions.

If you’re wondering whether you should keep rerolling or stick with your current race, this guide will help you make that decision.

MythFall Race Tier List – Best Race for Melee, Critical Builds

Tier Race
S Tier Minotaur, Huskborn
A Tier Nephilim
B Tier Human
C Tier Druid

Now let’s go through each race and explain why it belongs there.

S Tier

Minotaur

Rarity: 10%

If your goal is to dominate close-range combat, Minotaur is easily one of the strongest races in MythFall.

Instead of boosting magic, almost every bonus improves survivability and physical damage. It feels like the race was designed specifically for players who enjoy standing toe-to-toe with enemies rather than attacking from a distance.

Bonuses

  • +10% Defense
  • +5% Health
  • +5% Weapon Strength
  • +5% Fighting Strength
  • -25% Incoming Posture Damage
  • Strong attacks deal +50% Stagger Damage
  • -10% Ether
  • -10% Magic Strength

The magic penalties honestly aren’t a big deal if you’re already planning to build around swords or fists.

The extra defense, health, posture resistance, and stagger damage make this race incredibly durable in both PvE and PvP. You’ll spend less time getting staggered and more time keeping pressure on your opponent.

If you’re building a tank or melee-focused character, Minotaur is one of the safest choices in the game.

Huskborn

Rarity: Legendary (5%)

Huskborn is basically the magical counterpart to Minotaur.

Instead of increasing physical stats, almost everything revolves around improving spell damage, Ether management, and critical damage for magic users.

Bonuses

  • +10% Critical Strength
  • +6% Magic Strength
  • +6% Ether
  • At night:
    • +20% Magic Strength
    • Increased Ether Regeneration
  • Reduced physical effectiveness

The nighttime bonus is especially impressive.

Once night falls, your magic damage jumps significantly while your Ether regenerates faster, allowing you to keep casting without running dry.

The only downside is weaker physical combat, but if you’re committing to a magic build anyway, that tradeoff barely matters.

For mage players, Huskborn is arguably the best race currently available.

A Tier

Nephilim

Rarity: Mythic (0.5%)

Nephilim is the rarest race in MythFall, but rarity doesn’t automatically make it the strongest.

This race focuses entirely on critical-hit gameplay. If your build naturally stacks Critical Chance and Critical Strength, Nephilim can become incredibly powerful. However, not every build benefits equally from critical stats, which makes it a little more situational than the S Tier races.

Bonuses

  • +10% Active Style Damage
  • +5% Ether
  • +5% Critical Strength
  • +10% Critical Chance
  • +20% Critical Strength
  • Critical Hits restore Ether
  • -10% Healing Regeneration
  • -5% Healing

The biggest strength here is that critical hits restore Ether, letting aggressive players stay in combat longer while continuously using abilities.

The downside is reduced healing and regeneration, making you noticeably squishier than other races.

If your build revolves around landing lots of critical hits, Nephilim is fantastic.

If not, you’ll probably get more consistent value from Minotaur or Huskborn.

B Tier

Human

Rarity: 60%

Human is the default race that most players will start with.

It doesn’t offer flashy combat bonuses, but it also doesn’t come with any drawbacks.

Bonuses

  • +5% EXP Gain
  • +5% Mastery Gain

These bonuses won’t help you win fights directly, but they do make progression slightly faster.

You’ll level quicker, gain mastery faster, and unlock abilities a little sooner than other races.

If you’re just starting the game or don’t have rerolls available yet, Human is perfectly playable. It’s simply outclassed by the more specialized races once you begin optimizing your build.

C Tier

Druid

Rarity: 24.5% (Approximate)

Druid is probably the most situational race in MythFall.

At first glance, its magic bonuses look decent, but most of its strongest effects only work while you’re inside forests.

Bonuses

  • +5 Health Regeneration
  • +5 Magic Strength
  • +5 Ether
  • While in forests:
    • +10% Magic Strength
    • Increased Health Regeneration
  • -5% Weapon Strength
  • -5% Fighting Strength

The problem is consistency.

You’re simply not going to spend your entire adventure inside forests.

Outside those areas, Druid becomes a fairly average magic race while also making melee combat weaker.

If future updates introduce more forest-heavy content, Druid could become much better, but right now it feels too restricted compared to the other races.

Which Race Should You Choose?

Pick Minotaur if you:

  • Prefer swords or melee combat
  • Want a tanky character
  • Play aggressive in PvP
  • Don’t care much about magic

Pick Huskborn if you:

  • Want to focus on magic
  • Like ranged combat
  • Want stronger spell damage
  • Plan to maximize Ether usage

Pick Nephilim if you:

  • Enjoy critical-hit builds
  • Want a high-risk, high-reward playstyle
  • Can take advantage of Crit Chance and Crit Strength bonuses

Pick Human if you:

  • Just started playing
  • Want faster leveling
  • Don’t have rerolls yet

Pick Druid if you:

  • Love playing magic
  • Don’t mind location-based bonuses
  • Want a niche playstyle that could improve with future updates

Even though MythFall has only a handful of races at launch, they already feel very different from one another.

Personally, I think the two easiest recommendations are Minotaur for melee players and Huskborn for magic users. Both provide powerful, consistent bonuses that are useful almost everywhere in the game instead of relying on specific conditions.

Nephilim is definitely exciting because of its Mythic rarity, but don’t feel pressured to chase it just because it’s the rarest. Unless you’re building around critical hits, it won’t always outperform the two S Tier races.

Human is a perfectly fine starting point, while Druid currently feels a bit too dependent on forests to compete with the other options.

Of course, this is based on the game’s release version. As MythFall receives balance updates and new content, race rankings could change, so it’s worth keeping an eye on future patches before spending all of your rerolls chasing a single race.
