Rituals are some of the most useful abilities you can unlock in Welcome to Elderfield. They give you access to powerful magical attacks, defensive abilities, and useful skills that can help you both during combat and while exploring the world. Early in the game, having a good Ritual ready can make encounters much easier, especially when you are still getting familiar with the enemies around you.
In this post, we will tell you where to learn all Rituals currently available in Welcome to Elderfield. We’ll explain where you need to go, which NPC or enemy you need to find, how the Ritual works, and whether it is designed for combat or utility.
Some Rituals are easy to unlock near the beginning of your adventure, while others require you to explore places like the Mall and defeat specific enemies. If you’re trying to collect every Ritual or simply want to know which abilities are worth picking up first, here’s where you can find them.
Welcome to Elderfield Rituals Guide – How to Learn & Use
To learn Rituals in Welcome to Elderfield, you need to explore the world and interact with specific people, objects, and enemies.
Some abilities are taught directly by NPCs, while others are learned from special tomes dropped by enemies. Because of this, it is always worth checking unusual objects and talking to characters you meet during your adventure.
Below, we’ll go through each currently known Ritual and exactly where you can learn it.
How to Get Energy Shot
Energy Shot Location: Old Brazier in Town
Energy Shot is one of the first Rituals you can learn in Welcome to Elderfield.
To find it, head northeast from your house. You will find an Old Brazier sitting on top of a large tree stump. Interact with the Brazier to learn the Energy Shot Ritual.
- Location: Northeast of your house
- How to learn: Interact with the Old Brazier
- MP Cost: 2 MP
- Effect: Fires a weak bolt of energy at enemies
- Type: Combat Ritual
Energy Shot is a simple magical attack, but it can be very useful early in the game. When you’re still learning how combat works, having an extra ranged attack available can make dealing with enemies much easier.
How to Get the Warp Ritual
Warp Location: Shopper in Ultra Video, Mall F1
Warp is one of the most useful non-combat Rituals you can learn early.
Head to the first floor of the Mall and enter Ultra Video. This should be the first shop you come across after entering the building.
Once inside, walk toward the far right side of the shop. Look for the Shopper standing above the SALE sign, near the video cameras on display. Talk to them, and they will teach you the Warp Ritual.
- Location: Ultra Video, Mall F1
- How to learn: Talk to the Shopper near the SALE sign
- Cost: Free
- Effect: Lets you return home
- Type: Non-combat Ritual
I would recommend getting Warp as soon as you can. Being able to return home for free is incredibly convenient, especially after a long exploration run when you don’t want to spend more time walking back.
How to Get Dark Shield
Dark Shield Location: Office Slime, Mall F1
Dark Shield is a defensive Ritual that can help you survive difficult battles.
To unlock it, you need to defeat an Office Slime on the first floor of the Mall. These enemies can be found near the snack shop in the southern part of the level.
After defeating the Office Slime, it can drop the tome needed to learn Dark Shield.
- Location: Mall F1, southern snack shop area
- How to learn: Defeat an Office Slime and obtain its tome
- MP Cost: 3 MP
- Effect: Increases Defence and Magic Defence by 20% for three turns
- Additional Effect: Adds +1 purple Defensive heart
- Type: Combat Ritual
Dark Shield is particularly useful when you know you are about to take a lot of damage. The bonus to both physical Defence and Magic Defence gives you protection against different types of enemies, making it a solid ability to keep ready.
Which Ritual Should You Get First?
If you’re just starting your adventure, Energy Shot is the easiest Ritual to pick up because you can find the Old Brazier near your house.
After that, I would strongly recommend heading to the Mall and getting Warp. It doesn’t help you during combat, but being able to return home for free makes exploration much more convenient.
Dark Shield is another good option once you are comfortable fighting enemies in the Mall. The defensive bonuses can be especially useful when you encounter tougher opponents.
A good early setup would be:
- Energy Shot for basic magical damage
- Dark Shield for extra protection during combat
- Warp for quickly returning home
This gives you a mix of offensive, defensive, and utility options.
Rituals are worth collecting because they give you more options than simply relying on your normal attacks. Even the early Rituals can make a noticeable difference, especially when you’re still getting used to Welcome to Elderfield’s combat and exploration systems.
Make sure you interact with unusual objects, speak with NPCs, and defeat enemies that appear to be guarding important areas. Some of the most useful abilities are learned through exploration rather than being automatically unlocked through the main story.
As more areas become available, there may be even more Rituals waiting to be discovered. For now, Energy Shot, Warp, and Dark Shield are great abilities to collect early and will give you a solid selection of combat and utility tools for your adventure.
