Starting Digimon UP is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Between the Hologram Device, multiple summon banners, idle rewards, dungeons, and dozens of systems unlocking one after another, it’s easy to wonder what you should actually focus on first.
When I started playing, I made the classic mistake of trying to do everything at once. I saved tickets that should have been spent, ignored my Hologram Device for a while, and wondered why my power wasn’t increasing as quickly as everyone else’s. Once I understood how the progression system works, everything clicked.
The good news is that Digimon UP is very beginner-friendly. As long as you focus on the right systems in the right order, you’ll progress smoothly without feeling like you’re falling behind. This guide covers everything new players should know, from rerolling and choosing your first partner to reaching Stage 160 and unlocking almost every major feature in the game.
Digimon UP Beginner Guide – Guide Quests, Summon Banners
The answer depends on how much time you want to invest before you start playing.
A reroll takes roughly 5 minutes, making it one of the quickest reroll systems you’ll find in a mobile RPG. If you’re aiming for a specific Digimon or want the strongest possible start, rerolling is definitely an option.
That said, it’s far from mandatory.
The game is balanced well enough that you can clear story content and enjoy the early game even without perfect summon luck. Unless you’re chasing top-tier characters for competitive play, you’re perfectly fine sticking with your first account and enjoying the adventure.
Before diving into the story, there are a few mechanics worth understanding.
Any Server Is Fine
All servers contain the same game content, events, and progression systems.
The only reason to carefully choose a server is if you’re planning to join friends or the same Camp (Guild). Otherwise, simply pick any available server and start playing.
You Can Change Your Name Anytime
Unlike many online games, Digimon UP lets you change your in-game name whenever you want without paying any currency.
Even better, duplicate names are allowed, so you don’t have to worry about your favorite username already being taken.
Pick Your Favorite Partner Digimon
Your first Partner Digimon isn’t a permanent decision.
The starting Digimon are balanced similarly, so there isn’t a “wrong” choice. Simply pick the one you enjoy the most. You’ll eventually have opportunities to obtain the partners you didn’t select, so don’t stress over this decision.
Ad Skip Pass
Many activities let you watch advertisements for additional rewards or extra attempts.
If you plan to play daily and dislike sitting through ads, the optional Ad Skip Pass lets you claim those rewards instantly without watching advertisements. It’s completely optional, but frequent players may find it worthwhile.
Don’t Forget Idle Rewards
Digimon UP continues generating rewards while you’re offline.
However, idle rewards stop accumulating after 8 hours, so try logging in at least three times per day to avoid wasting free resources.
Reach Stage 160
Rather than worrying about collecting every Digimon immediately, focus on progressing through the main stages.
Your first major milestone should be Stage 160.
Most players can reach this point within 2–3 days, depending on how actively they play.
By reaching Stage 160, you’ll unlock almost every major game feature except Crests, giving you access to nearly the full Digimon UP experience.
After that, your next objective becomes Stage 500, where Crests eventually become available once the server has been open long enough.
Priorities
If you only remember three things from this guide, make them these.
1. Increase Your Power Constantly
Your power determines how far you can progress.
The easiest ways to increase it are:
- Use the Hologram Device frequently.
- Summon new Skill Cards.
- Summon Support Digimon.
- Equip stronger gear immediately.
- Upgrade your existing units.
Even a small increase in power can be enough to clear several additional stages.
2. Collect Idle Rewards Regularly
Idle rewards provide a steady supply of valuable resources, including Hologram Tickets and other upgrade materials.
Since rewards stop accumulating after eight hours, logging in morning, afternoon, and evening is enough to maximize your gains.
3. Complete Daily Activities
Once dungeons, exploration, and PvP unlock, they become some of your best resource sources.
Even if you don’t have much time to play, spending a few minutes completing daily content is well worth it.
Use the Hologram Device Early and Often
If there’s one feature new players underestimate, it’s the Hologram Device.
This system is responsible for generating Equipment and Plugins that dramatically increase your combat power.
Don’t save your Hologram Tickets.
Use them regularly.
Every new piece of gear has a chance to improve your stats, while unwanted items can be sold for Bits and experience.
Selling extra equipment rewards:
- Tamer EXP
- Partner EXP
- Bits
Those Bits are then used to upgrade the Hologram Device itself, creating a progression loop that constantly strengthens your account.
Claim Campaign Rewards
New players receive generous launch and campaign rewards.
These often include 1,000 Hologram Tickets, giving you an enormous early advantage.
Many beginners forget to collect these rewards immediately, slowing down their progression for no reason.
Before doing anything else, check your mailbox and claim everything available.
Reach Stage 11 Quickly
One of the earliest quality-of-life upgrades unlocks at Stage 11.
This grants the Auto Function for the Hologram Device.
Instead of manually spending tickets one at a time, Auto Mode continuously pulls until it finds equipment matching your chosen settings.
Once unlocked, take a moment to customize the rarity filters so weaker equipment is automatically sold while stronger gear is kept.
Always Equip Higher Power Gear
During the early game, don’t overthink equipment choices.
If a new weapon, armor, or Plugin increases your overall Power, equip it.
Later in the game you’ll start chasing better effects and ideal builds, but early progression is all about increasing your combat power as quickly as possible.
Complete Guide Quests
Guide Quests are one of the easiest sources of free rewards.
They frequently provide:
- Hologram Tickets
- DigiEmeralds
- Upgrade materials
- Summon resources
Many quests naturally complete while you’re playing, so remember to claim the rewards immediately.
A common objective asks you to activate the Hologram Device several times, making it another reason to spend your tickets instead of saving them.
Upgrade the Hologram Device
Whenever you have enough Bits, start another Hologram Device upgrade.
Higher levels unlock stronger equipment rarities.
Some important milestones include:
| Level | Unlock |
|---|---|
| 2 | SR Equipment |
| 4 | SSR Equipment |
| 7 | UR Equipment |
| 9 | GR Equipment |
The higher your device level becomes, the better every Hologram Ticket is worth.
Use Your Summon Tickets
Many players save summon tickets “for later.”
There’s usually no reason to do this early on.
Summoning lets you:
- Increase your Gacha Level.
- Unlock stronger Skill Cards.
- Obtain better Support Digimon.
- Pull duplicate units for upgrades.
Every duplicate copy helps strengthen your account.
Upgrade Skill Cards and Support Digimon
After summoning, don’t forget to actually upgrade your new rewards.
Duplicate Skill Cards and Support Digimon can be combined to increase their level and effectiveness.
Many players summon new units but forget to enhance them, leaving a lot of free power unused.
Complete Daily Missions
Daily Missions should become part of your routine.
Besides useful materials, they also reward currency and progression resources that quickly add up over time.
Whenever you notice the small “!” notification, check it—you’ve probably earned another reward.
Farm Dungeons Every Day
Dungeons unlock after progressing through the story and become one of the best farming activities in the game.
Daily dungeon attempts reward:
- DigiEmeralds
- Tickets
- Upgrade materials
- Other progression resources
New dungeons unlock as you clear more stages, including DemiDevimon, Bakemon, Apocalymon Wall, Metal Sea, and several others.
Always use your available attempts before the daily reset.
Try PvP
PvP becomes available around Stage 30.
Even if you’re not interested in competitive gameplay, it’s worth participating because attempts regenerate over time and provide useful rewards.
Later on, you’ll also unlock the D-1 Grand Prix, giving even more reasons to improve your team.
Don’t Ignore Exploration
Exploration unlocks additional progression systems like:
- Meat Field
- Digital World Search
- Partner Training
- Different Dimension Box
Each feature provides resources that gradually strengthen your account, making them worth checking every day.
Join a Camp (Guild)
Once Camps unlock around Stage 50, join one as soon as possible.
An active guild provides access to exclusive content, additional rewards, and helpful players who can answer questions as you progress.
Even if it’s only temporary, joining a Camp is almost always beneficial.
Digimon UP rewards steady progression far more than rushing through content. If you consistently upgrade your Hologram Device, spend your summon tickets, claim idle rewards every eight hours, and complete your daily activities, your power will grow naturally without requiring endless grinding.
Instead of worrying about having the perfect team from day one, focus on reaching Stage 160, unlocking every major game system, and building strong habits early. By doing that, you’ll set yourself up for much smoother progression throughout the rest of your Digimon adventure.
