One thing that surprised me was how many resources you can find just by exploring the gardens. Early trips can lead to essential upgrades, so keep your eyes peeled! Remember, managing your resources wisely will save you a lot of time later on.
Before diving into the tasks, make sure to equip your Collector Rod and a pair of Pruners. They’ll be invaluable for fishing and gathering materials as you progress.

A Call From The Gardens
Start your journey by talking to Cliff and boarding the airtram to the Hanging Gardens. Once you arrive, chat with Herb before heading to the lookout platform for a brief introduction to the facilities here. Your next stop is a conversation with Arlo, followed by a meeting with Kassim to get your bearings.
Crafting Collector Rod And Pruners
Head over to the scrap quarters to gather the necessary screws and plastic discards needed for crafting the Pruners. You’ll also find metal scraps you can turn into metal plates. Once you have the materials, craft your Pruners to start gathering!
Return to the Hanging Gardens to collect Rattan from the Bamboo Forest and nearby areas by chopping down small palm-like trees. For Jute, look for ropes scattered around the gardens. These materials will help you upgrade your equipment.
Use the plastic discards at the refining station to create necessary items, and once you have your Collector Rod, show it to Kassim. You’re now ready to fish in Loftia!
How To Catch Fish
To fish, look for ripples in the water and aim your rod toward them using directional controls. When a fish bites, focus on reeling it in by staying within the highlighted area. You can speed things up by pressing the reel button when the star appears.
Field Research
Return to Kassim and head to one of the research stations that will be marked on your map. Each station has a unique bundle that, when completed, grants you new recipes. I recommend starting with the Central Lake research bundle, as it requires catching just a few nearby fish.
After talking to Kassim again, assist Joanna, Kun, and Hazel with their research requests. Kun will need you to craft a level 2 hammer to break a large rock; the recipe can be found at the central lake research station. Catch fish in the central lake to complete the fish bundle necessary for the recipe.
To craft that hammer, collect some copper scraps from lower and upper villages as well as the Grove in Hanging Gardens.
Hazel’s task involves gathering three clovers found near her garden. Once you’ve collected them, she’ll ask you to craft flower pots.
You’ll need two Adobe, which can be processed from clay using the refining station. Create four flower pots and plant the flowers you gathered from the Hanging Gardens.
For completing these tasks, ensure you upgrade your project station to level 2, which requires a level 2 battery. To craft this, you’ll need to refine mushroom leather sourced from Portobello Mushrooms found on Loftia City’s hills; harvest them using your Pruners.
Joanna will send you on a quest to locate a lost dog. Look for interactive dirt surrounded by mushrooms, do this five times, and you’ll uncover a dog bowl behind a tree. Place some lettuce and carrots inside before naming the dog and speaking with Joanna once more.
