If you’re trying to build friendships in Doloc Town, you’ll quickly realize that giving random items isn’t exactly the best strategy. Sure, you can hand people whatever you have lying around, but when you’re limited to just two gifts per character each week, wasting one on something they dislike feels pretty bad.
The good news is that you don’t need to memorize every single item in the game. I’ve gone through the gift preferences and pulled together the items that actually matter, including the best universal gifts and the personal favorites of every character who accepts gifts.
And honestly, there’s one item you should keep an eye out for above everything else: Premium Set Meal. It’s loved by every giftable character, making it by far the easiest friendship gift to stock up on.
So, let’s get into it.
Doloc Town Gift Guide – All Loved and Liked Gifts
Gift preferences in Doloc Town are divided into five different levels. The better the reaction, the more friendship you get.
| Gift Reaction | Friendship |
|---|---|
| Loved | +60 |
| Liked | +35 |
| Neutral | +20 |
| Disliked | -15 |
| Hated | -25 |
There are a couple of other things worth remembering before you start handing out gifts.
You can give two gifts to each character per week, so choosing the right items matters. Birthday gifts are especially valuable because they give 3× the normal friendship points. That means a Loved gift given on someone’s birthday gives a huge 180 friendship points.
You can also attend a character’s birthday party for another 100 friendship points.
Your first greeting with a character each day gives +5 friendship, too, so don’t completely ignore people just because you don’t have a gift for them.
Friendship with each character can reach Level 10, and giftable characters can generally be found between 08:00 and 22:00.
Which Doloc Town Characters Accept Gifts?
There are quite a few characters around Doloc Town, but not all of them participate in the gifting system.
At the moment, 13 characters accept gifts and have friendship progression up to Level 10.
| Character | Lives / Works At | Birthday |
|---|---|---|
| Alchemy | Botanical Research Lab | Light Rain 2 |
| Kasia | Commercial Street | Light Rain 10 |
| Sacco | Doloc Archives | Light Rain 14 |
| Lank | East Doloc | Light Rain 17 |
| Claud | Mayor’s Office | Heavy Rain 5 |
| Merlin | Smithy near the docks | Heavy Rain 17 |
| Mody | Engineering Hangar | Heavy Rain 28 |
| Dada | Botanical Research Lab / Town | Early Dry 5 |
| Hult | General Store | Early Dry 20 |
| Villain | Seed Shop / Train Market | Early Dry 24 |
| Cod | Gunworks / Engineering Hangar | Harsh Dry 3 |
| Orlando | Guild Office | Harsh Dry 7 |
| Zenis | Zenis Tavern | Harsh Dry 12 |
This is actually good news because you don’t have to waste time trying to figure out gift preferences for the other characters.
Best Universal Gifts in Doloc Town
Before getting into individual characters, let’s talk about the gifts that make life considerably easier.
There are three items loved by all 13 giftable characters.
| Item | Where to Get It |
|---|---|
| Premium Set Meal | Food Packing Station |
| Artificial Coral Beads | Heron’s Exchange Shop – 5 Coins |
| Red Coral Shard | Mission Reward |
Premium Set Meal is easily the standout here. Since every giftable character loves it, you can keep a few in storage and always have a safe gift ready.
The Artificial Coral Beads and Red Coral Shard are just as useful because they work universally, although getting enough of them can depend on your progress and available sources.
There’s also Kasia’s Cake, which is loved by 11 out of the 13 characters. The only characters who don’t eat it are Sacco and Villain. That’s another fantastic backup gift if you have one available.
Universal Gifts Everyone Likes
If you don’t have one of the universal Loved gifts, there are several items that everyone still likes.
These include:
- Garnet Bracelet
- Citrine Bracelet
- Clear Quartz Bracelet
- Obsidian Bracelet
- Lucky Silk Pouch
- Deluxe Set Meal
- Trilobite Fossil
- Ammonite Fossil
- Fern Fossil
The bracelets come from the exchange shop and have a value of 3,750g each, while the fossils can be obtained through mining and gathering.
So if you’re carrying around spare fossils, don’t automatically sell every one. They can make surprisingly convenient friendship gifts.

Cooking failures are also a no-go.
Interestingly, his Hated list is basically just the universal set of gifts.

Sacco Gift Guide
Sacco, the Archivist and android, is probably the character where you’ll want to pay the most attention to the exact item.

The Easiest Gift Strategy
If you’re trying to raise friendship with everyone without turning your storage into a giant collection of character-specific presents, I’d keep things simple.
Premium Set Meals should be your first priority. They’re loved by everyone, so you don’t need to remember individual preferences whenever you have one available.
After that, Artificial Coral Beads and Red Coral Shards are excellent universal options.
For cheaper or more readily available backups, keep some bracelets, Lucky Silk Pouches, Deluxe Set Meals, and fossils around. All 13 giftable characters like these.
Then, when you’re specifically targeting one character, start using their Loved gifts. That’s where you can really speed things up, especially around birthdays.
Best Gifts to Keep in Storage
If you’re planning ahead, this is the short list I’d personally keep an eye on:
- Premium Set Meal – Loved by everyone
- Artificial Coral Beads – Loved by everyone
- Red Coral Shard – Loved by everyone
- Kasia’s Cake – Loved by 11/13
- Bracelets – Liked by everyone
- Lucky Silk Pouch – Liked by everyone
- Deluxe Set Meal – Liked by everyone
- Fossils – Liked by everyone
That collection covers an enormous portion of your gifting needs without requiring you to carry 100 different character-specific items.
Don’t Waste Birthday Gifts
Birthdays are where you should really pay attention.
A normal Loved gift gives 60 friendship, but on a birthday that becomes 180. Add the 100 points from attending the birthday party, and you can make a pretty serious jump in friendship from a single day.
So before giving someone a random gift, check their birthday.
For example, if you have a Premium Set Meal saved, there’s little reason to use it on a normal day when that same gift can be worth three times as much on the character’s birthday.
Just remember that the friendship cap is Level 10, so once you’ve maxed someone out, save those valuable gifts for another character.
The gifting system in Doloc Town looks complicated at first because every character has their own huge list of likes, dislikes, and favorite items. In practice, though, you can make things much easier for yourself.
Keep Premium Set Meals stocked, hold onto the universal gifts when you find them, and save your strongest character-specific gifts for birthdays. That’s really all you need to avoid most of the trial-and-error.
And if you’re someone who hates accidentally giving an NPC an item they absolutely despise, the biggest rule to remember is simple: check the character before gifting anything valuable. Some of the preferences are surprisingly specific, and a gift that works brilliantly for one character can actually lose you friendship with another.
Once you get a small stash of universal gifts together, though, raising friendships becomes much less of a chore and much more of a routine.
