Blox Fruits Update 30 is finally here, bringing the long-awaited First Sea rework and a huge visual upgrade to the early-game experience. Pretty much everywhere you go has received some kind of change, from the islands and buildings to NPCs, bosses, quests, animations, and the game’s menus.
One of the biggest new additions is the Magnet Event, which gives you a new reason to explore the First Sea and hunt down special NPCs. These Magnet-powered enemies can appear around the map, and defeating them is how you earn the new Magnet Tokens used for the Magnet Gacha.
There is a lot packed into this update, so rather than focusing on one feature, let’s go through the important changes you should know about when you first jump into Blox Fruits Update 30.
Blox Fruits Update 30 Guide – Codes, First Sea rework
The biggest part of Update 30 is obviously the First Sea rework.
The developers have gone through the islands and given them significantly more detail. Some areas have only received visual improvements, while others feel substantially different from what you may remember.
The loading screen has also been changed, along with the overall interface and many of the game’s animations.
There is now a redesigned map interface that lets you look through the different locations in the game, making it easier to see the various places available to explore.
If you’ve played the old First Sea for a long time, you’ll immediately notice that things look different.
Jungle Has Been Reworked
The Jungle is one of the first areas where you’ll notice the new visual direction.
The buildings have been redesigned, including the interiors, and the area generally has much more detail than before.
Even familiar locations, such as the place where you previously used the Gacha, have received a makeover.
The Monkey NPCs have also been given a new appearance.
It still feels like the Jungle you know, but it’s much more polished.
Pirate Village Rework
Pirate Village has also received a visual overhaul.
The layout remains familiar, but the buildings and surrounding areas have much more detail. It doesn’t feel like a completely different island, but the extra polish makes the location look considerably better.
This is one of the main themes of the First Sea rework: familiar locations have been kept recognizable while receiving a much-needed visual upgrade.
Underwater City Rework
The Underwater City received a much bigger makeover.
The main area looks considerably different, and the environment has been given more detail throughout.
Even the Fishman Lord boss encounter has changed.
The Fishman Lord now has new attacks and can summon sharks to attack you during the fight. His transformation has also been changed, making the encounter feel much more involved than the old version.
The reworked Fishman Lord can also drop the Trident, just like in the original experience.
Coliseum Rework
The Coliseum has also been redesigned.
The building itself looks much better, but the changes don’t stop there. There are additional details and statues around the outside, along with changes to the surrounding area.
There are also new interactions and quest-related activities around the Coliseum.
One particularly noticeable change is how quests now work.
New Quest Tracking System
Questing has received a pretty useful quality-of-life improvement.
After accepting a quest, the game can now show you exactly where you need to go using a large red circle on the map.
Instead of trying to remember where your objective is, you can simply follow the marker.
There are also quests involving waves of NPCs, and these enemies can scale with your level.
This is particularly useful for higher-level players because the enemies you fight during these activities can actually be around your level instead of being stuck at the level of the original First Sea content.
Snow Island and Frozen Village Rework
The snowy areas have also been changed.
Frozen Village has received a significant visual overhaul, with new details and environmental changes.
There are also new scenes and NPC interactions that make the area feel more alive.
If you’ve visited Frozen Village countless times before, you’ll probably notice the difference almost immediately.
New Magnet NPCs and Magnet Tokens
Now let’s get to one of the most important new mechanics in Update 30: Magnet Tokens.
During the Magnet Event, special NPCs with Magnet abilities can appear around the map.
These aren’t the regular enemies you’ll normally find in the First Sea.
The Magnet-powered NPCs are stronger than their normal versions, but there’s a good reason to hunt them down.
Defeating these special NPCs rewards you with Magnet Tokens.
According to the gameplay shown in the update, a Magnet NPC can give around 20–25 Magnet Tokens per defeat.
The exact amount can vary, but this is currently the main way to build up your Magnet Token supply.
How To Get Magnet Tokens in Blox Fruits
Getting Magnet Tokens is fairly straightforward once you know what you’re looking for.
1. Wait for the Magnet Event
The special Magnet NPCs spawn as part of the event and can appear randomly across the map.
The event occurs every hour, so you’ll need to be ready to search for the special enemies when it starts.
2. Search the First Sea
Travel around the First Sea looking for NPCs that have the Magnet ability.
They look different from the standard versions, so don’t simply defeat every normal NPC you see.
You’re specifically looking for the Magnet-powered versions.
3. Defeat the Magnet NPCs
Once you find one, defeat it.
These enemies are stronger than their regular counterparts, so be prepared for a tougher fight.
After defeating one, you’ll receive Magnet Tokens.
The gameplay showed rewards of roughly 22 to 25 tokens from individual NPCs.
4. Collect Enough Tokens for the Magnet Gacha
Once you’ve collected enough Magnet Tokens, you can spend them through the new Magnet Gacha.
This is where the tokens become especially useful.
How To Use Magnet Tokens
Once you have your Magnet Tokens, head to the First Sea Gacha area.
The update introduces a dedicated Magnet Gacha where you can spend the tokens you’ve collected during the event.
There is a cooldown or waiting period between rolls, so you can’t simply spend all of your tokens instantly.
However, each roll gives you a chance at different rewards.
Magnet Gacha Rewards
The Magnet Gacha can give you several different types of rewards.
These include:
- Backgrounds
- Accessories
- Skins/Chromas
- Other cosmetic rewards
- Physical fruits
One of the most talked-about rewards from the update is the Magnet Arc Steel, which has an Iron Man-inspired appearance.
There are also other themed rewards, including:
- Lime Blade
- Diamond Topaz
- Ghost Scarlet
- Yellow Lightning
- Gravity Starite
- Yeti Runic
- Magnet Arc Steel
The Magnet Gacha is therefore another reason to keep farming those special NPCs whenever the event comes around.
Middletown Has a New Portal
Middletown has also been redesigned, including its main building.
Inside, you’ll find a new portal that can be used to travel to different locations.
The First Sea starter areas have also been given more detail, making the early game feel much more polished than before.
Starter Island Rework
The Starter Island has received new buildings and additional environmental details.
The island doesn’t necessarily feel dramatically larger, but the extra detail can make it seem more spacious.
It’s another example of the developers keeping the familiar layout while improving how the location looks and feels.
Fountain Rework
The Fountain area has also been redesigned.
The environment and NPCs have been updated, and even some of the animations you’ll see while interacting with things around the game have changed.
Overall, Update 30 gives many of these familiar locations a much more modern look.
Upper Sky Rework
The Upper Sky area has received some major changes.
One of the biggest differences is the environment itself. Areas that previously consisted mostly of green grass now have a much more detailed appearance.
The surrounding structures and terrain have also been redesigned.
The boss area has received changes as well, making the entire location feel much more complete.
Desert Rework
The Desert now has a much stronger Egyptian-inspired appearance.
The pyramid has received significantly more detail, while the surrounding environment has been improved to make the island feel more like an actual desert.
The overall size doesn’t appear to have changed dramatically, but the visual improvements make the area feel considerably better.
Skylands Rework
Skylands has also received visual improvements.
This area doesn’t appear to have been changed as dramatically as some of the other islands, but the walls, buildings, and surrounding details have been updated.
Even the water appears to have received some visual improvements.
So while Skylands may still feel familiar, it definitely looks different compared to the previous version.
Volcano Rework
The Volcano is another location that has been improved.
The basic area remains recognizable, but the buildings and environment have more detail.
There are also new magma-related environmental effects, including magma elements burning through parts of the surrounding area.
The lava has been changed as well, and the inside of the volcano received a noticeable makeover.
The Magma Admiral also looks considerably different in the reworked area.
Prison Rework
The Prison has received a substantial redesign.
The gates and surrounding structures look different, and there are new environmental details throughout the location.
There are even new scenes involving prisoners attempting to escape.
The Prison now feels much more alive than the relatively simple version players were used to before Update 30.
Marine Fortress Rework
The Marine Fortress has also been completely refreshed.
The structures and overall environment have received new details, making the fortress look far more impressive.
There also appear to be new interactive elements around the area.
Some of these can become especially interesting during events.
New Interactive Features
Update 30 isn’t just about making the First Sea look better.
There are also more interactive objects around certain locations.
For example, some objects can be used during events, allowing players to sit at them and control or aim them.
These additions make some of the islands feel less like static locations and more like actual environments with things to interact with.
First Sea Bosses Have Been Reworked
Another major change is that the First Sea bosses have been reworked.
This includes bosses such as:
- Yeti
- Gorilla King
- Fishman Lord
- Magma Admiral
- Warden
- Cyborg
The bosses now have different appearances, animations, and attacks.
The Gorilla King, for example, has a charging attack, while the Fishman Lord has additional abilities involving sharks and a transformation.
This means you shouldn’t assume the old boss fights will play exactly the same way after the update.
New Boss Mechanics
The boss changes aren’t purely cosmetic.
Some bosses now have more interesting attack patterns and abilities.
The Fishman Lord is a good example. During the fight, he can summon sharks to attack you and can transform into another form that deals significant damage.
This makes some of the early-game boss fights more challenging and gives players more reason to pay attention instead of simply overpowering them.
New Animations and NPC Interactions
One of the most noticeable changes throughout Update 30 is the number of new animations.
Interacting with NPCs now feels different, with new animations appearing when you click on or talk to characters.
Quests have also received new visual feedback.
Combined with the redesigned environments, this makes the First Sea feel much more modern.
New Chromatic Gacha Shop
The regular Shop interface has also been changed.
A new Chromatic Gacha Shop has been added, featuring several different cosmetic items.
Among the rewards shown are:
- Lime Blade
- Diamond Topaz
- Ghost Scarlet
- Yellow Lightning
- Gravity Starite
- Yeti Runic
- Magnet Arc Steel
The Magnet Arc Steel has received a lot of attention because of its Iron Man-like appearance.
Is Magnet Arc Steel Worth Getting?
If you’re interested in the cosmetic side of the update, Magnet Arc Steel is one of the main rewards to look out for.
Its appearance is heavily inspired by a futuristic armored suit, making it one of the more eye-catching rewards in the new Gacha.
You’ll need to participate in the Magnet Event and collect Magnet Tokens if you want to roll for the Magnet-related rewards.
Blox Fruits Update 30 is much more than a simple visual update. The First Sea has been given a huge polish pass, and returning players will probably spend a good amount of time revisiting areas they haven’t thought about in years.
The Magnet Event and Magnet Tokens are probably the biggest new gameplay feature for players who want something new to grind. Since the special NPCs appear around the map every hour, you’ll want to explore the First Sea when the event starts and hunt down as many Magnet-powered enemies as possible.
And honestly, the reworked bosses might be just as interesting. Fighting something like the Fishman Lord again and suddenly having to deal with sharks and a new transformation is a nice change from simply repeating the same old boss fights.
There’s clearly more to Update 30 than what’s covered here, but if you’re looking for a starting point, explore the reworked First Sea, learn the Magnet Token farming method, and check out the new Gacha rewards. There’s a lot waiting for you.
