Fisch Astral Observatory Update Guide – 5 New Rods, Codes

If you’ve just loaded into Fisch and the sky suddenly feels a lot more important than it used to, that’s because the Astral Observatory Update has added a whole new layer of content to the game.

This update isn’t just about collecting a few new fish. You’ve got a new Observatory and Laboratory expansion, Astral Anomalies that can change the entire server, several new fishing rods, a brand-new companion, a new Hunt Fish, hidden fishing locations, new Bestiary discoveries, and a code to grab.

There is a lot packed into this update, and some of the new systems aren’t immediately obvious when you first join. So, if you’re coming into the update for the first time, here’s what everything does and where you should start.

Fisch Astral Observatory Update Guide – Astral Anomalies, Codes

Before getting into the new content, there’s one thing I’d recommend doing immediately: redeem the new code.

The current update code is:

ShootingStars

Enter ShootingStars in the code redemption menu to claim its available rewards.

The code is directly connected to the Astral Observatory update, so don’t leave it sitting there for weeks assuming it’ll remain active forever. Fisch codes can change with updates, and there’s nothing worse than remembering a code after it has already expired.

Astral Observatory and Laboratory Expansion

The biggest addition in this update is the Astral Observatory and Laboratory expansion.

The Observatory is now officially open on the main platform, giving you a new location to explore and a completely new progression system to investigate.

When you arrive, you’ll meet Dr. Crookspine and Astronomer Vega. These two characters are important because they’re connected to the investigation into the strange celestial phenomena appearing in the sky.

If you’re starting this update fresh, I’d recommend talking to both characters rather than simply running past them. The new content is built around investigating these anomalies, gathering materials, and using the Observatory to unlock more of what the update has to offer.

What Do You Do at the Observatory?

The basic idea is pretty straightforward once you understand it.

You’ll need to travel around different areas and gather materials from five locations. Those materials are then used to craft specialized Telescopic Lenses and Batteries.

The Batteries are especially important because they allow you to power the Observatory’s telescope.

Once you’ve got the required materials and batteries, you can start investigating the strange phenomena in the night sky.

And this is where the update gets much more interesting.

Astral Anomalies Explained

The Astral Anomalies are temporary nighttime server events that are triggered through the Observatory telescope.

You use Batteries to power the telescope, which allows these celestial events to occur.

The important thing to understand is that these aren’t just cosmetic sky changes. Each anomaly provides a unique server-wide passive stat buff and can also open up new space mutations.

So when one of these events is active, everyone on the server can potentially benefit from the effects.

There are currently five Astral Anomalies to discover.

Celestial Congregation

Celestial Congregation is one of the five Astral Anomalies introduced with the update.

Like the other anomalies, it forms part of the Observatory’s nighttime event system and contributes its own server-wide effects.

If you’re trying to explore everything the Astral update has to offer, you’ll want to keep an eye out for each anomaly rather than focusing on just one.

Abyssal Alignment

The second anomaly is Abyssal Alignment.

This is another nighttime server event connected to the Observatory telescope.

The important part isn’t simply seeing the anomaly in the sky. These events are part of the new progression system and can influence the available buffs and space-related mutations while they’re active.

Evershifting Eclipse

Next up is Evershifting Eclipse.

As the name suggests, this is another celestial event that changes the conditions of the server while it’s active.

If you’re farming during one of these events, it’s worth paying attention to which anomaly is currently happening because the buffs and available effects can make certain activities more worthwhile.

Meteoric Outburst

Meteoric Outburst is particularly interesting if you’re trying to take advantage of the update’s meteor and starfall mechanics.

The Astral update introduces several systems built around celestial drops, and Meteoric Outburst fits directly into that theme.

If you’re hunting rare meteor-related resources, this is definitely an anomaly you’ll want to take advantage of when it appears.

Lunar Eclipse

The fifth anomaly is Lunar Eclipse.

It’s another temporary nighttime event that can be activated through the Observatory’s telescope.

Together, these five anomalies give the Observatory system a lot more variety than simply having one permanent buff active all the time.

New Fishing Rods in the Astral Update

Of course, this is Fisch, so we can’t talk about a major update without talking about new rods.

The Astral Observatory update adds several new fishing rods:

  • Scavenger Rod
  • Meteoric Rod
  • Rod of the Singularity
  • Stellarwave Melody

There is also another rod planned to arrive later.

The new rods are tied into the broader Astral content, so don’t assume they’re all obtained through the same method.

If you’re serious about collecting them, I’d recommend starting the Observatory quests and exploring the new areas first. You’ll get a much better understanding of which materials, events, and progression systems you need for each rod.

And if you’re already a high-level player with a strong rod, don’t immediately assume the newest rod is automatically the best rod for every situation. Fisch rods can have very different strengths, and the best choice depends on what you’re fishing for.

New Companion: Comet

The update also adds one of the more interesting companions we’ve seen: Comet.

Comet is a living Astral companion that can be found roaming around fallen stars.

So, unlike a normal companion that you simply pick up from a shop, you’ll actually need to explore and look around the new celestial content to find one.

How to Tame Comet

Once you find Comet, you’ll need to feed it Stardust Candy to tame it.

After you’ve successfully tamed Comet, it will sit on top of your character’s head.

Which is already a pretty fun cosmetic addition, but the companion actually does more than look cute.

What Does Comet Do?

Comet provides a passive stat called Astral Luck.

This increases the server’s chances of getting rare meteor and starfall drops.

That’s a particularly useful effect if you’re actively working through the Astral Observatory content, because so much of the update revolves around celestial events and rare drops.

Comet also has another interesting behavior: it may shoot stars at a targeted fish.

So you get a companion that looks cool, helps with the new Astral systems, and can even interact with fish while you’re playing.

If you’re planning to spend a lot of time farming the new celestial content, Comet is definitely worth looking for.

New Hunt Fish: Goliath Siphonophore

The update introduces a new Hunt Fish called the Goliath Siphonophore.

And this isn’t something you’ll simply stumble across at one of the usual fishing spots.

The Goliath Siphonophore is located in the hidden Boreal Hollow pool.

To reach this area, you’ll need to get behind the reinforced crab cage doors.

The creature itself is described as a massive exotic entity, and it is triggered through a disturbance in the main pool.

So if you’ve searched the regular fishing areas and can’t find it, don’t assume the fish doesn’t exist. The important thing is getting access to Boreal Hollow and understanding how its encounter is triggered.

Goliath Siphonophore Fishing Mechanics

The Goliath Siphonophore isn’t a completely normal fishing encounter.

It has a unique mechanics pattern that can temporarily freeze your progress bar while you’re reeling it in.

On top of that, the encounter can reduce your resilience during the reel.

That makes the fight more demanding than simply holding your fishing line and waiting for the fish to come in.

If you’re attempting this Hunt Fish, pay attention to the progress bar and don’t panic when it temporarily stops moving. The encounter is designed around these mechanics.

Because resilience can also be reduced, you’ll want to make sure you’re properly prepared before repeatedly attempting the fight.

Six New Fishing Pools and Hidden Crevices

The world has also been expanded with six new fishable pools and hidden crevice areas scattered across the sea.

This is one of those parts of the update that’s easy to overlook if you only follow the obvious quest markers.

The new locations contain additional aquatic species, crab cage catches, and crafting materials.

So if you’re trying to complete the new Bestiary, you’ll need to do some actual exploration rather than staying in the same fishing spot you’ve been using for the past few updates.

Expanded Bestiary

The Astral Observatory update adds dozens of new aquatic species to discover.

There are also new crab cage catches and crafting materials connected to the expanded locations.

For players who enjoy completing the Bestiary, this is a pretty substantial addition.

My advice is to keep checking your Bestiary as you explore. If you’re missing several entries, use the new pools and hidden areas as your starting point rather than randomly fishing across the entire map.

New Questlines and Local Characters

The new areas aren’t just there for fishing.

You’ll also find local characters with new questlines, and these quests are connected to the strange anomalies appearing around each location.

The characters can provide clues about what’s happening, so it’s worth talking to them even if you’re mainly interested in collecting rods and fish.

In fact, if you’re trying to experience the update properly, I’d recommend following the quests before simply farming the new fishing pools.

The quests help introduce you to the locations and the Astral systems instead of leaving you to figure everything out yourself.

How to Get the Most Out of Astral Anomalies

If you’re planning to farm the new content seriously, don’t waste Batteries without thinking about what you’re trying to accomplish.

The Observatory’s telescope is what triggers the temporary nighttime server events, so the timing of these events matters.

When an anomaly is active:

  • Check the server-wide passive buff.
  • Look for newly available space mutations.
  • Take advantage of the event while it lasts.
  • Farm meteor and starfall-related content when appropriate.
  • Use Comet’s Astral Luck to improve your chances of rare celestial drops.

This is especially useful if you’re playing with other people. Since the effects are server-wide, an active anomaly can benefit everyone rather than just the person who triggered it.

Best Way to Start the Astral Observatory Update

If you’re jumping into the update and don’t know where to begin, I’d personally follow this order:

  1. Redeem ShootingStars for the update rewards.
  2. Head to the Astral Observatory on the main platform.
  3. Speak with Dr. Crookspine and Astronomer Vega.
  4. Start the Observatory-related questlines.
  5. Explore the five locations and gather the required materials.
  6. Craft the necessary Telescopic Lenses and Batteries.
  7. Power the Observatory telescope.
  8. Watch for the five Astral Anomalies.
  9. Explore the six new fishing pools and hidden crevices.
  10. Search fallen stars for Comet.
  11. Use Stardust Candy to tame Comet.
  12. Work toward the new rods.
  13. Visit Boreal Hollow and investigate the Goliath Siphonophore.
  14. Fill out the new Bestiary entries as you explore.

This order keeps you from running around randomly and gives you access to the main systems before you start seriously farming.

Which New Content Should You Prioritize?

If you’re more interested in fishing progression, I’d focus on the new rods and fishing pools first.

If you’re interested in rare drops, getting Comet should be high on your list because of the Astral Luck passive.

For completionists, you’ll want to explore all six new pools, hidden crevices, crab cage locations, Bestiary entries, and questlines.

And if you simply want to experience the update’s main mechanic, head straight to the Astral Observatory and start working on the Batteries and Telescopic Lenses.

The Observatory is essentially the hub that ties the rest of the update together.

The Fisch Astral Observatory Update is much bigger than it first looks.

You’ve got a completely new Observatory and Laboratory expansion, five Astral Anomalies, new nighttime server events, space mutations, four new fishing rods with another one coming later, the Comet companion, a new Hunt Fish in Boreal Hollow, six new fishing pools, hidden crevices, dozens of aquatic species, new crafting materials, and additional questlines.

The easiest mistake would be to ignore the Observatory and continue with your normal fishing route. I’d definitely spend some time exploring the new systems first.

And don’t forget to redeem ShootingStars while the code is available.

Once you’ve got the basics figured out, the update becomes much easier to navigate, and you’ll have a clear idea of whether you want to focus on the new rods, Bestiary completion, Astral Anomalies, rare drops, or the Goliath Siphonophore.
