Light and Night Beginner Guide Wiki – Gacha, Dailies

If you’re just starting Light and Night, don’t worry about chasing the “perfect” team or rerolling endlessly. The game is designed around long-term progression, and consistency matters far more than having the strongest cards on day one.

The biggest advice is simple:

  • Log in every day.
  • Complete all daily tasks and event dailies.
  • Build the cards you already own instead of waiting for a meta team.
  • Save premium currency instead of spending it immediately.

It takes around two weeks to finish the first eight story chapters with regular play. Unlike many gacha games, there isn’t a traditional pity system that carries between banners, but duplicate resources can eventually be exchanged through the Bookmark system.

One important tip is to save Polaris whenever possible. It’s one of the rarest currencies and is much more valuable when used on Roulettes or future outfit events.

Basic Currencies Explained

Ursa Minor

The main currency used for standard gacha pulls.

Quill Pen

Used for a single summon.

  • 1 Pull = 300 Ursas

10-Draw Ticket

Allows a ten-pull.

  • 10 Pulls = 3,000 Ursas

Heartfelt Letters

Earned after every summon.

These are used to exchange:

  • Cards
  • Bonds
  • Various materials

Limited-event versions convert into regular Heartfelt Letters after the event ends.

Polaris

The game’s premium currency.

Players receive 5 Polaris after completing each main story chapter.

Since Polaris is limited, the guide strongly recommends saving it.

Courier Trip Tickets

Standard Trip Ticket

  • Gives one random Bond.

VIP Trip Ticket

  • Guarantees one random 5★ Bond.

Daily Routine

Completing your daily routine is the fastest way to grow your account.

A typical day should include:

  • Finish all 30 daily resource stages.
  • Complete 10 River of Reflection runs.
  • Use one Courier Travel ticket.
  • Complete shop exchanges.
  • Speed up Academic Journey.
  • Host an Exhibition and like 10 friends’ Exhibitions.
  • Level up at least one card.
  • Increase Craftsmanship.
  • Share once.

The guide estimates you’ll earn roughly 120 Ursas every day through normal gameplay.

Other recommended habits include:

  • Spend at least 20 minutes in-game.
  • Exchange daily shop currencies.
  • Use stamina before it expires.
  • Interact with LI profiles for daily Affection.
  • Answer Moment posts for additional Affection.

Gacha

At first, the Light and Night gacha system can feel confusing because it uses several different currencies and doesn’t work exactly like many other mobile gacha games. Once you understand how banners, pity, and exchanges work, it becomes much easier to plan your pulls.

You can summon on banners using either:

  • 300 Ursa Minor for one pull.
  • 1 Quill Pen for one pull.

A 10-pull costs 3,000 Ursa Minor or a 10-Draw Ticket.

Every summon gives you:

  • One Card.
  • One Heartfelt Letter, which acts as an exchange currency for cards, Bonds, and other materials.

Pity System

The game has a pity system, but it works differently from many gachas.

  • Soft pity starts around 60 pulls.
  • Hard pity guarantees a 6★ card at 70 pulls.
  • Every 10-pull guarantees at least one 5★ or higher card.

One important thing to remember is that ten single summons are not treated the same as one 10-pull. If you’re aiming for the guaranteed 5★, it’s better to use an actual multi summon.

No 50/50 System

Unlike games like Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail, Light and Night does not use a 50/50 featured character system on its standard banners.

Instead, if you don’t get the featured card, you continue collecting Heartfelt Letters, which can eventually be exchanged for featured cards.

This makes the system more predictable over time, especially for long-term players.

Heartfelt Letters

Every summon rewards Heartfelt Letters, regardless of what card you pull.

Think of them as a long-term pity currency.

You can exchange them for:

  • Featured 6★ cards.
  • Bonds.
  • Upgrade materials.
  • Other useful resources.

Limited event currencies eventually convert into regular Heartfelt Letters after the event ends, so none of your summons are completely wasted.

Limited (Multi) Banners

Limited banners appear only a few times each year.

Major events include:

  • Anniversary
  • Qixi Festival
  • November Event
  • Chinese New Year / Valentine’s Event

These banners feature exclusive 6★ cards that won’t always be available afterward.

The guide also mentions that cumulative pull milestones can reward extra event cards on these banners.

Exchange Shop

If luck isn’t on your side, the Exchange Shop provides another way to obtain premium cards.

Generally:

  • Standard rotating 6★ cards cost 180 Bookmarks.
  • Limited Multi banner cards require 140 Limited Bookmarks.

This means every summon slowly moves you closer to buying the card you actually want.

Roulette System

Roulette is completely separate from normal banner summons.

Instead of spending Ursa Minor, you’ll mainly use Polaris.

The guide strongly recommends saving at least 50 Polaris before participating.

Roulettes are considered one of the cheapest ways to fully upgrade featured 6★ cards and usually provide better long-term value than spending Polaris on standard banners.

Because Polaris is difficult to obtain, experienced players rarely waste it on regular summons.

Monthly Pull Income

Without counting limited-time events, players can expect approximately:

Free-to-Play

  • Around 27+ pulls per month

Monthly Pass Players

  • Around 43+ pulls per month

Events usually increase these numbers considerably.

Dailies Guide

Daily activities are the biggest source of account progression in Light and Night. Even if you only have 20–30 minutes to play, finishing your dailies every day will steadily improve your collection.

The guide estimates you can earn around 120 Ursa Minor each day, making daily missions one of the most important sources of free summons.

Complete All Daily Resource Stages

Every day, finish all available resource stages.

These stages provide:

  • Upgrade materials
  • Coins
  • Crafting materials
  • Ursa Minor

Since your cards require a lot of materials to level up, skipping these stages slows down your progression.

River of Reflection

Complete 10 River of Reflection attempts daily.

This activity provides important materials used for strengthening Love Interests and upgrading your account.

Courier Travel

Use at least one Courier Trip Ticket every day.

Courier Trips reward random Bonds, which improve your relationship progression and help unlock additional content.

Don’t let your tickets pile up.

Daily Shop Exchanges

Visit both daily shops and exchange available currencies.

Many useful resources reset every day, including:

  • Ursa Minor
  • Materials
  • Upgrade items

Missing these exchanges means losing free resources.

Academic Journey

Always speed up your Academic Journey whenever possible.

This passive system continuously generates resources while you’re away from the game.

Keeping it active ensures you’re earning rewards even when you’re offline.

Exhibition

Every day:

  • Host your own Exhibition.
  • Like at least 10 friends’ Exhibitions.

This contributes toward daily objectives while also providing extra rewards.

Upgrade a Card Daily

Spend at least 10,000 Coins upgrading one of your cards.

Besides making your team stronger, this also completes one of the daily objectives.

Increase Craftsmanship

Don’t ignore the Craftsmanship system.

Improving Craftsmanship unlocks additional progression bonuses and helps complete another daily task.

Share Once

Simply using the game’s Share feature once each day counts toward daily progress.

Many players overlook this easy objective.

Daily Routine Outside Missions

Besides completing missions, there are several habits worth doing every day.

Spend Your Stamina

Never let stamina sit at maximum.

If your stamina is full, it stops regenerating, meaning you’re losing free resources over time.

Try to use it before logging off.

Stay Online

Spend at least 20 minutes in-game each day.

If possible, stay online for one hour to receive all gameplay time rewards.

Increase Affection

Visit your Love Interest’s profile and tap the Heart once every day.

This grants +30 Affection.

Also answer their Moment posts for another +50 Affection.

These interactions slowly unlock more relationship content.

Complete Event Dailies

Whenever an event is active, prioritize its daily missions.

Event rewards are usually limited-time and often provide valuable currencies that can’t be obtained later.
