The Canyon Secret is a hidden objective in Far Far West that unlocks the Pigpick Joker and a powerful secret pickaxe. You can complete this on any difficulty. The map is large and easy to get lost in, so following the exact locations below will let you collect all required medals without unnecessary searching.
Where the Canyon Secret Door Is Located
On the southern side of the middle section of the Canyon map, you will find a locked door that requires several medals. Next to it is a wanted note from the sheriff. The note mentions three names:
Bobby the Dynamiter
Johnny Hawkeye
Swedy the Gold Prospector
These names correspond to the three medals you must find, plus the sheriff’s own medal.
Sheriff Medal Location
The first medal is found directly on the sheriff himself near the locked door. Collect this before moving to the other locations.
Swedy the Gold Prospector Medal Location
Move to the lower part of the Canyon map and go underneath the bridge. You will find the Gold Prospector NPC. He explains that his medal has been buried.
Look for digging spots along the cliff. These spots are identified by small rock clusters sticking out of the ground. Most of them give skulls, but one of them contains the shovel.
After finding the shovel, continue along the cliff until you reach the correct digging spot that contains the prospector’s medal. Dig it up to obtain Swedy’s medal.
Bobby the Dynamiter Medal Location
Go to the area under a broken bridge where gray rock formations and a mine shaft are visible. Bobby the Dynamiter is located here.
Pick up dynamite, light it, and begin blowing up the gray rock barriers that block the mineshaft. Continue clearing through the mine until you reach the end. Bobby’s medal is found inside the opened shaft.
Johnny Hawkeye Medal Location
Head to the west side of the Canyon map. You will see a safe with the number 10 on it. This indicates that you must hit ten bullseye targets around the area.
The targets are located:
- On a rock behind the safe
- Under the zipline
- On top of a rock near the safe
- On top of a wooden structure near the safe
- On the opposite side on another wooden structure near the minecarts
- On a rock formation directly in front of the safe
- Above the minecarts in the middle area
- And the remaining targets are spread around the immediate surroundings of the safe area
Each time you hit a bullseye target, the number on the safe decreases. Once all ten targets are hit, the safe opens and gives you Johnny Hawkeye’s medal.
Unlocking the Canyon Secret Door
Return to the locked door near the sheriff. Insert all collected medals into their correct sockets. This opens the door and unlocks:
- The Pigpick Joker, which has a 5% chance on hit to spawn damaging pickaxes
- A secret Elder Pickaxe
Secret Elder Pickaxe
Inside the secret room, you will also find the Elder Pickaxe. This pickaxe is extremely powerful when used on enemies. It is especially effective during the second phase of the Saloon Boss, dealing very high damage and defeating him quickly when you learn his movement pattern.
The only limitation is that you must walk while holding it, but minecarts on the map can be used for faster travel.
