Unlocking Hell Mode in Type Soul is a major progression step, especially for players aiming for True Bankai or deeper endgame content. This guide will walk you through the entire process—from locating the NPC to defeating the boss and reaching Hell.
Type Soul Highway to Hell Quest Guide – Obtain the Hell Key
Step 1: Locate the NPC – Quas Jard
Press comma ( , ) on your keyboard to bring up the NPC name tracker.
Search for Quas Jard — he’s typically found near the basketball court.
Talk to him, and he’ll open the gate to the Highway (this is your portal to Hell).
Step 2: Entering the Highway
After the gate opens, step through to be teleported into the Highway.
This area is filled with fog and visuals—consider setting your graphics to low for better visibility and performance.
Step 3: Talk to Felis
Upon entering, locate Felis, the key NPC in this zone.
He’ll instruct you to find and collect 5 crystals hidden around the Highway.
Step 4: Find 5 Crystals
Crystals spawn randomly across the Highway dungeon area.
When you’re near a crystal, a white glowing indicator or aura will appear, making it easier to locate.
Be cautious: hostile NPCs may guard the crystals and can kill you if you’re not ready.
Once all 5 are collected, return to Felis to turn them in.
Step 5: Hide-and-Seek with Felis
After submitting the crystals, Felis will ask you to play hide-and-seek.
You’ll have 2 minutes to find him.
His spawn location is random each time, so be quick and thorough.
When you find him, simply talk to him again to complete this stage.
Step 6: Reach the Gate to the Boss Fight
After the hide-and-seek, head to the large gate nearby. This is where you’ll fight the Hell Boss.
Ignore any other NPCs near the gate — they’re unrelated to the fight.
Step 7: Defeat the Boss
The boss is tough, so come prepared:
Use ranged moves
Dodge wisely
Bring allies if needed
Upon defeating the boss:
You’ll receive a Book Fragment
You’ll then be teleported to Hell
Step 8: You’re in Hell
Congrats! After the boss, you’re now in Hell, where you can begin:
