War of Genesis Idle Loot Beginner Guide – Marketplace

If you are just starting War of Genesis: Idle Loot, there are quite a few systems to understand before you can really start progressing efficiently. From choosing your first class to upgrading equipment, training your character, using the marketplace, and taking part in PvP, the game gives you a lot to work with.

In this post, I will go through the important things I learned while playing and explain what I recommend you do as a new player. I will focus mostly on the early-game choices that can make your progression faster and easier.

I will also cover the auto-combine system, Training, Battlefield, Growth, the Training Ground, and some simple tips for AFK progression. If you are completely new to the game, this should give you a good idea of what to focus on first.

War of Genesis Idle Loot Beginner Guide – Marketplace

There are three main classes in War of Genesis: Idle Loot:

  • Knight
  • Ranger
  • Wizard

Each class plays differently, so your first decision is important.

Knight

The Knight is the tanky melee option. It has good durability, stun abilities, and buffs that help it survive fights.

If you enjoy playing a character that can take a lot of punishment and stay in melee range, Knight is a solid choice.

However, for early progression, I would personally go with Ranger instead.

Ranger

Ranger is the class I recommend for new players right now.

The biggest advantage is its ranged attacks and strong farming performance. Ranger can deal damage consistently without needing to spend much time recovering between attacks.

The basic attacks already hit hard, while the skills give you even more damage. Ranger also has access to evasion, which means you can avoid a lot of incoming damage.

For me, this makes Ranger feel faster and smoother during the early game.

Wizard

Wizard is the spell-casting class. It has powerful spells that can deal a lot of damage, but the downside is that the casting speed is slower.

If you like big abilities and don’t mind slower attacks, Wizard can be fun. However, for a beginner who wants fast early progression, I would still recommend Ranger.

Best Early Ranger Skills

If you decide to use Ranger, there are three things I recommend focusing on early.

Max Rapid Fire

Rapid Fire is one of the main skills I would prioritize.

Put as many points into it as possible early because it gives Ranger a strong source of consistent damage.

Max Stone Arrow

Stone Arrow is another important skill for the early Ranger build.

I recommend maxing this alongside Rapid Fire so you have strong damage from both your regular gameplay and skills.

Invest in Evasion

Don’t ignore Evasion.

Ranger already benefits from being a ranged class, and adding more evasion makes it even easier to survive while farming.

So my simple early Ranger setup is:

Rapid Fire → Max

Stone Arrow → Max

Evasion → Max/High priority

Unlocking More Characters

You aren’t limited to one character within your selected class.

As you level up, you will be able to unlock different characters belonging to your class.

For example, if you start with Ranger, you can eventually obtain additional Ranger characters as you progress.

I recommend buying or unlocking these characters as you reach the required levels rather than ignoring them. More characters give you additional progression options as you move further into the game.

Blacksmith Guide

The Blacksmith is one of the most important places you will use throughout your progression.

There are several systems here, including:

  • Equipment
  • Accessories
  • Pets
  • Wings
  • Runes
  • Jewels
  • Refinery

There is a lot here at first, but the basic idea is fairly simple.

Equipment Combining

One of the first things you should understand is the equipment combine system.

You can use Auto Register to automatically select suitable items and then combine them into equipment of a higher rarity.

This is useful because you will constantly collect equipment while playing.

Instead of letting your inventory fill up with lower-rarity items, you can combine them into better equipment.

Dismantling Equipment

You don’t always have to combine everything.

You can also dismantle unwanted equipment for resources.

For example, lower-quality equipment can be dismantled for gold, while higher-rarity items can provide different fragments.

Blue or rare equipment can give you Rare Fragments, while higher rarities provide their corresponding fragments.

There are also:

  • Rare Fragments
  • Heroic Fragments
  • Legendary Fragments
  • Mythic Fragments

These fragments are connected to the Relic system and can be used for further progression.

So don’t assume that every item should automatically be combined. Sometimes dismantling is the better option depending on what resource you currently need.

Jewels

You can also equip jewels onto your equipment.

For example, you can place a jewel into your bow to increase your stats.

For a Ranger, I recommend looking for offensive stats such as Attack % whenever possible.

The example in the video shows an Attack % jewel being equipped on a bow, which is a very useful type of bonus for a damage-focused Ranger.

One important thing to remember is that, at the time of the guide, there wasn’t an obvious way to remove a jewel after placing it into an item.

Because of that, I would be careful about putting valuable jewels into equipment until you’re sure you want them there.

Gold Bars and Diamond Pouches

You will also come across items such as Gold Bars and Diamond Pouches while playing.

Gold Bars can be converted into gold.

Diamond Pouches can similarly be opened to obtain diamonds, or you can potentially sell them depending on what you want to do with your resources.

These items become particularly important because diamonds are connected to the marketplace.

Steam Marketplace Guide

One of the more interesting features of War of Genesis: Idle Loot is that its marketplace interacts with the Steam Community Market.

This means some items can actually be listed for sale through Steam.

Diamonds and Marketplace Listings

The diamond currency regenerates over time.

According to the guide, you receive one diamond every four hours.

You can use diamonds for things such as upgrading the altar, but they are also required when listing items on the marketplace.

When listing an item, the game consumes one diamond.

How to Sell an Item

The process is fairly straightforward.

First, open the marketplace in the game and select the item you want to sell.

Drag the item into the marketplace listing area and list it.

After that, open your Steam inventory and find the item.

Before choosing your selling price, I recommend checking the Steam Community Market to see the current market price.

Don’t blindly use the starting price shown by Steam. Check what the item is actually selling for and set your price accordingly.

After you list the item, Steam may require additional confirmation.

Make sure Steam Guard is enabled because you may need to confirm the transaction through your Steam account or mobile device.

Once the confirmation is completed, the item will be removed from your inventory and appear as your active marketplace listing.

Buying From the Marketplace

The guide didn’t demonstrate buying an item, so I wouldn’t want to pretend I know the exact delivery location from the video.

However, the recommendation given is to check your Storage or Mail if you purchase something and don’t immediately see it in your inventory.

Training Guide

Training is another system you should pay attention to early.

There are many upgrades here, and some upgrades are locked behind other upgrades. This means you can’t simply pick whatever stat you want immediately.

For new players, I recommend focusing on PvE Attack Power.

Prioritize PvE Attack Power

PvE Attack Power is extremely useful because it directly improves your damage against PvE enemies.

Since most of your early progression involves farming and clearing stages, increasing PvE damage can make a noticeable difference.

For Ranger in particular, I would make this one of your early priorities.

However, you may need to unlock prerequisite skills before you can reach it.

For example, some Training upgrades require you to reach a certain level in another stat first.

If an upgrade says it becomes available after reaching a specific resistance or skill level, you will need to follow that path first.

Upgrade Your Gold Storage

Another upgrade I recommend is increasing your gold storage capacity.

This is particularly useful if you aren’t actively checking the game all the time.

Since this is an AFK game, your character can continue earning resources while you’re away. If your storage capacity is too low, you can potentially waste some of that progression.

If you’re actively playing and checking the game frequently, you can prioritize offensive upgrades instead.

Other Training Stats

After getting your important PvE damage upgrades, you can start putting points into whatever fits your build.

Depending on your needs, you can improve things such as:

  • Damage
  • Evasion
  • Defense
  • Resistance
  • Gold storage

For my Ranger-focused setup, I would generally lean toward damage after taking care of the important progression upgrades.

Auto Combine

If you’re planning to leave the game running while you’re away, Auto Combine is one of the most useful features you can enable.

Instead of manually combining every piece of equipment, the game can automatically combine items for you.

Open the Auto Combine feature and choose the level or rarity at which you want the system to combine your items.

You can customize the settings depending on your progression.

For example, if you’re around a higher level and your inventory is constantly filling up, allowing Auto Combine to handle more of your items can save you a lot of time.

Once your settings are ready, simply start Auto Combine and let the game handle the combining while you’re away.

Sort Your Inventory

I also recommend using the inventory sorting option regularly.

It makes it much easier to see what you’re carrying and keeps your inventory organized, especially when you’re farming for long periods.

Relics

Relics are connected to some of the fragments you obtain from dismantling equipment and other items.

As you dismantle higher-rarity equipment, you can collect the corresponding fragments and use them toward Relic progression.

This is another reason why you shouldn’t automatically combine every item you obtain.

Sometimes dismantling unwanted gear is more useful because you need the fragments for your long-term progression.

Battlefield Guide

The Battlefield is where a lot of the game’s multiplayer and competitive content starts to come together.

There are several activities available, including:

  • PvP
  • Raid Boss
  • Arena
  • World Boss
  • Rankings

Some content unlocks as you progress through the game.

Choose Your Alliance Carefully

There are alliance rankings in the game, and you will choose an alliance representing a country or language group.

Alliance ranking can also provide buffs.

According to the guide, higher-ranked alliances can receive better bonuses, so I recommend paying attention to the alliance rankings instead of choosing completely at random.

If you want to maximize your progression, being part of a strong alliance can be useful.

Battlefield Boss Rush

The Battlefield itself works similarly to a boss-rush system.

You fight through bosses and receive results based on how far you can progress.

You can either watch the fight or skip it.

If you skip the fight, the game automatically calculates the result for you.

The guide suggests that this becomes available as you progress through the stages, with the creator estimating that it unlocks around the point where you clear Stage 4.

World Boss

The World Boss was not yet available in the gameplay shown in the guide.

Once it becomes available, it should provide another important source of rewards and ranking progression.

There are also rankings connected to powerful boss completion, so this is a feature worth keeping an eye on as the game develops.

Arena and PvP

Arena is the game’s PvP system.

One important thing to understand is that once Arena is unlocked, other players can attempt to defeat you even when you aren’t actively playing.

So don’t assume your Arena record only changes when you manually enter a battle.

Other players can challenge you, and your battle record will reflect those fights.

You can also challenge other players yourself.

If your character is strong enough, winning Arena battles gives you additional resources.

Ether Shop

The Arena/Battlefield system also has an Ether Shop.

By participating in the relevant content and using tickets, you can obtain Ether, which can then be spent on rewards in the shop.

There are various rewards available, including limited-time items and growth-related rewards.

If you’re looking for another reason to participate in PvP content, the Ether Shop gives you an additional reason to keep playing it.

Growth System

The Growth section contains several systems that help improve your character.

One of the important ones is the Altar.

Altar

The Altar allows you to sacrifice items in exchange for additional stats.

You can place certain items into the Altar and use them to increase your character’s overall progression.

Because of this, don’t immediately treat every unwanted item as useless. Some items can contribute to your Growth progression even when they aren’t worth equipping.

Training Ground

The Training Ground is essentially an RNG-based stat system.

Here, you can roll different stats and try to build a combination that works well for your character.

You can lock stats that you like and reroll the ones you don’t want.

This is especially useful once you start looking for stronger combinations.

Which Stats Should You Keep?

The best stats will depend on your build, but offensive stats are generally valuable for a Ranger.

The guide specifically demonstrates keeping things such as Attack and Boss Damage while rerolling unwanted stats.

The system also includes higher grades such as S, so you can continue improving your rolls as you obtain better opportunities.

The important thing is not to waste resources rerolling everything immediately. If you already have useful stats, consider locking them and only rerolling the weaker ones.

Training Tokens

The Training Ground uses Training Tokens as its currency.

The guide mentions World Boss content as one way to obtain this currency, so make sure you’re participating in the appropriate content once it becomes available.

That’s everything I would focus on as a beginner in War of Genesis: Idle Loot. The game has quite a few systems, but you don’t need to master everything immediately.

For me, the simplest approach is to start with Ranger, build around Rapid Fire, Stone Arrow, and Evasion, prioritize PvE Attack Power, and make good use of Auto Combine. From there, you can gradually work on equipment, Relics, Training, the Altar, Training Ground, and the different Battlefield activities.

The biggest thing to remember is that this is an AFK game. Set up your character properly, push the highest stage you can, manage your inventory, and let the game continue progressing while you’re away.
