Valheim 1.0 introduces Trinkets, a new type of equippable accessory that can give your Viking powerful temporary effects during combat. These are not simply passive items that sit in your inventory. Once equipped, a Trinket interacts with the new Adrenaline system and can activate automatically when you build up enough combat momentum.
In this post, we will tell you about all Trinkets currently available in Valheim 1.0, what each one does, how much Adrenaline it requires, and which bonuses you receive when its effect activates. We will also explain how the Adrenaline gauge works and how you can unlock and craft your first Trinkets.
Since you can only equip one Trinket at a time, choosing the right one can make a noticeable difference depending on your build. Whether you prefer heavy melee combat, fast movement, bows, magic, blocking, or simply staying alive longer, there is a Trinket designed for different situations.

How to Activate Trinkets in Valheim 1.0
Trinkets work differently from Forsaken Powers because you cannot simply press a button whenever you want to activate them.
Instead, every Trinket uses the Adrenaline system.
Build Adrenaline Through Combat
To activate your Trinket, you need to fill its Adrenaline gauge by participating in combat.
You can build Adrenaline by performing actions such as:
- Attacking enemies
- Blocking attacks
- Dodging
As you continue fighting, your Adrenaline gauge will gradually fill. Once you reach the required amount for your equipped Trinket, its effect activates automatically.
This means Trinkets reward active combat. The more involved you are in the fight, the closer you get to triggering your bonus.
Trinket Effects Activate Automatically
You do not manually activate a Trinket.
Once you have accumulated enough Adrenaline, the Trinket automatically triggers its special effect.
Most effects remain active for a specific duration, although some Trinkets instead provide an immediate burst of Health, Stamina, or Eitr.
You Can Refill Adrenaline While the Effect Is Active
One useful thing to remember is that you can continue building Adrenaline even while your current Trinket effect is already active.
If you fill the gauge again, the Trinket can activate again and reset the duration of its effect.
This means aggressive and active players may be able to keep certain bonuses available more consistently by continuing to fight, block, and dodge.
How to Get Trinkets in Valheim 1.0
Most Trinkets are crafted like other equipment in Valheim.
Collect the Required Materials
Before you can craft a Trinket, you first need to discover and acquire all of its required crafting materials.
Once you have obtained the necessary ingredients, the crafting recipe becomes available.
The materials you need will depend on the Trinket. Early Trinkets use resources from earlier biomes, while stronger options require rare materials from places such as the Mistlands, Ashlands, and Deep North.
Use the Correct Crafting Station
Most Trinkets can be crafted at the Forge.
However, some advanced Trinkets require a different crafting station, such as the Black Forge.
Always check the Trinket recipe before gathering materials so you know where it needs to be crafted.
Earliest Trinkets You Can Get
You do not need to wait until the endgame to start using Trinkets.
Some of the earliest options become available once you reach the Black Forest.
Heart of the Forest
Heart of the Forest is one of the earliest Trinkets you can craft.
You need:
- Ancient Seed
- Bronze
- Greydwarf Shaman Trophy
Once activated, it provides +25% Health regeneration for 60 seconds.
It requires 50 Adrenaline to activate.
Bronze Pendant
The Bronze Pendant is another early Trinket available around the Black Forest stage.
You need:
- Bronze
- Ruby
- Bear Trophy
Once activated, it increases your Stamina regeneration by 25% for 60 seconds.
It also requires 50 Adrenaline to activate.
Both of these Trinkets can be obtained relatively early because their materials are available while progressing through the Black Forest.
What Are Trinkets in Valheim 1.0?
Trinkets are a new category of equippable accessories introduced in Valheim 1.0.
Equippable Accessories With Special Abilities
Like weapons and armour, Trinkets can be equipped to your character.
However, instead of directly functioning as a weapon or providing permanent defensive stats, they give you a special ability that activates through the Adrenaline gauge.
Each Trinket has its own:
- Adrenaline requirement
- Special effect
- Stat bonuses
- Duration
Some focus on damage, while others improve movement, defense, Health recovery, Stamina regeneration, Eitr, magic skills, or specific weapon types.
You Can Only Equip One Trinket
One of the most important things to remember is that you can only equip one Trinket at a time.
Because of this, your choice should depend on what you are doing and what type of character you are playing.
A melee player might prefer the Bracelets of the Brave or Resounding Shackle. A defensive player may get more value from Crystal Heart or Evasion Mantle. Magic users can benefit from Jormundling or Pulsating Earrings, while ranged players may prefer Wolf Sight.
The best Trinket is not necessarily the one with the highest numbers. It is the one that fits your build and gives you the most useful advantage when its Adrenaline effect activates.
