Soulmask 1.0 Food Guide – Diet Setup

This is a Soulmask food guide, explained like someone who’s actually been using these setups in-game. I’m sticking strictly to what’s in the original guide—just making it easier to follow and more natural.

Diet up to Awareness Strength 30

Before you hit 30 Awareness Strength, your food setup is simple but very effective if you use the right combination.

First thing to understand:
Every dish belongs to a category, and you can stack one bonus from each category:

  • Base diet
  • Meat
  • Fruits & vegetables
  • Beverage
  • Hobby

That means you can run 5 active buffs at once (one from each).

Best Early Diet Setup

Here’s the most efficient combination before 30:

Base Diet
Quinoa porridge

  • Crit damage +5%
  • Body EXP +100% for 20 minutes
This is your core food, mainly for leveling faster.

Meat
Good dried meat

  • Max HP +100
  • Attack +5 for 20 minutes
    Solid all-around combat boost.

Fruits & Vegetables
Pumpkin salad

  • Max stamina +10 for 20 minutes
    Helps with stamina-heavy gameplay.

Drink
Juice

  • Poison resistance +10 for 20 minutes
    Simple and useful, especially early.

Hobby
Fruit wine

  • +3% damage for 20 minutes
  • Morale stops decreasing for 20 minutes

Alternative:

  • Mezcal
    • +3% crit chance
    • Same morale effect but only 10 minutes

So overall, this setup gives you a balanced mix of damage, survivability, and progression speed.

Diet after 30 Awareness Strength (30–60)

Once you pass 30 Awareness Strength, your options expand a lot. You also unlock cigars, which give you a sixth bonus.

Updated Food Setup

Base Diet Options

You now have two strong choices depending on what you’re doing:

  • Quinoa with seafood
    • Crit damage +10%
    • Body EXP +200% for 30 minutes
Best for leveling or boss fights
  • Fried potato bun
    • +80 max carry weight for 30 minutes
Best for farming runs and resource gathering

Meat
Smoked ham

  • Max HP +200
  • Attack +10 for 30 minutes
    Big upgrade from early-game meat.

Fruits & Vegetables
Roasted piece of pumpkin

  • Max stamina +20 for 30 minutes
    Straight upgrade from pumpkin salad.

Drinks

You now have situational options depending on what you’re doing:

  • Juice → same poison resistance
  • Hot cocoa → +10 cold resistance
  • Iced cocoa → +10 fire resistance
  • Mate →
    • -5 radiation
    • +20 poison resistance for 30 minutes
Useful for specific areas (like plateau or frog fights)

Hobby
Mead

  • +6% damage
  • Morale stops decreasing for 30 minutes
Best overall upgrade in this category.

Cigar (Unlocked after 30)

  • +10% resistance to crit damage
  • Restores 7.5 morale for 30 seconds
  • Slight reduction to max morale (-0.25)

This becomes your sixth buff slot and is always worth using.

Before 30, your goal is simple:
stack basic buffs and focus on leveling and survival.

After 30, your setup becomes more flexible:
you start swapping foods depending on whether you’re:

  • fighting bosses
  • farming resources
  • exploring dangerous areas

The system stays the same, but your choices become more situational and powerful.
