If you have decided to play as a Demon in Slayers 2, one of the biggest decisions you will make is choosing your Demon Art. Each Art has a completely different moveset, so choosing one isn’t only about which ability looks the strongest.
In this Slayers 2 Demon Art tier list, I’ll rank all nine launch Blood Demon Arts and explain what makes each one useful. I’ll cover their PvE and PvP strengths, weapon and clan synergies, difficulty, and the situations where each Art performs best.
This is an early launch ranking, so the meta can still change as players discover new combos and balance updates arrive. For now, I’ll focus on how practical each Art is for normal progression, boss farming, PvP, and team play.
Slayers 2 Demon Art Tier List (October 2026) – Best Demon
S Tier – Meta Demon Arts
These are currently the strongest overall choices or extremely powerful specialists.
- Ice Manipulation
- Blood Manipulation
A Tier – Very Good Demon Arts
These Arts are excellent choices and can compete with S Tier depending on your playstyle.
- Shockwave
- Dream Manipulation
- Reaper
B Tier – Decent Demon Arts
These Arts are useful but generally have more noticeable weaknesses or require more specific setups.
- Explosive Blood
- Arrow
- Obi Manipulation
C Tier – Less Consistent
- Tamari
Remember that a tier doesn’t tell the whole story. A player who completely understands a B-tier Art can perform much better with it than someone who doesn’t know how to use an S-tier Art.
What Is the Best Demon Art in Slayers 2?
For an overall recommendation, Ice Manipulation is my current S-tier pick.
The biggest reason is versatility.
Ice has AoE attacks, ranged options, close-range catches, control abilities, and ways to pressure opponents from different distances. That gives it answers to many different situations instead of forcing you to play the same way every fight.
For coordinated boss farming, however, Blood Manipulation is another excellent choice.
Its sustained attacks can create damage windows where your teammates can continue attacking the boss, making it particularly valuable when you’re playing with other people.
If you prefer counters and reactive gameplay, Shockwave is one of the strongest alternatives.
S Tier Demon Arts
Ice Manipulation
Also known as: Cryokinesis
Role: All-Rounder / Control / AoE
Difficulty: High
Best for: PvE groups, PvP control, hybrid builds
Ice Manipulation is my current overall recommendation for Slayers 2 Demons.
Its strength comes from having several different ways to attack rather than relying on one specific combo.
The kit includes:
- Wintery Icicles
- Cold White Princesses
- Barren Hanging Garden
- Freezing Cloud
- Bodhisattva
Wintery Icicles
Wintery Icicles can create pressure around your opponent, and the follow-up input causes spikes to erupt underneath the target.
This gives you more than just a simple ranged attack.
You can use the area pressure to force your opponent into a position where your next attack or weapon combo becomes easier to land.
The exact escape windows between the hits still need more testing, so don’t assume that landing the first part automatically guarantees the entire sequence.
Cold White Princesses
Cold White Princesses is one of the most important control tools in the kit.
It provides restraint and counter options, allowing Ice users to punish opponents who approach incorrectly.
Barren Hanging Garden
Barren Hanging Garden gives you another way to control space.
Depending on the situation, you can use its ranged or closer options to either pressure an opponent from a distance or threaten them when they get close.
Freezing Cloud
Freezing Cloud changes depending on your distance.
You can get a nearby grab or a ranged wave, which makes positioning extremely important.
Instead of blindly using the ability, pay attention to where your opponent is standing before activating it.
Ice and Clan Synergy
Douma is a particularly useful clan partner for Ice because of its defensive repositioning.
Speed & Reflex allows you to return to a placed clone and remove certain stun or knockdown situations, while Extrasensory Perception provides additional defensive utility.
Shabana can also work well for coordinated group damage.
However, remember that these are clan benefits, not abilities that naturally belong to Ice Manipulation.
Ice Weaknesses
Ice is extremely versatile, but that doesn’t mean every move is safe.
Using the wrong range variant can waste an opening, and missing a catch can leave you vulnerable.
Boss freeze resistance and exact recovery windows also need more testing.
So while Ice is currently my top overall choice, it still requires good positioning and timing.
Blood Manipulation
Also known as: Blood Sickle
Role: Sustained Offense / Bossing
Difficulty: Moderate
Best for: PvE and coordinated boss fights
Blood Manipulation is another S-tier Demon Art, particularly if you frequently play with other players.
The biggest reason is its ability to maintain pressure while teammates also contribute damage.
The Art requires a Sickle, so you’ll need to plan your weapon before committing to this build.
Standard Sickles drop from Hoyuzo, while Blood Sickles are obtained from Gyutai/Gyutaro. Exact drop rates and level requirements may still change.
Blood Manipulation for Boss Farming
This is where Blood Manipulation really stands out.
Its attacks can create opportunities where multiple players can continue dealing damage during the same opening.
However, communication matters.
If one teammate knocks the boss too far away while another player is using Blood Manipulation, the entire group can lose the damage opportunity.
So when boss farming, coordinate who is holding the boss and who is finishing the combo.
Shabana Synergy
Shabana is a strong clan option for Blood Manipulation.
Its Core Detachment provides a team buff zone, while Siblings Bond rewards staying near allies.
Shabana also has Poison Generation, which adds poison to M1s.
However, don’t assume that this percentage-health poison automatically applies to Blood Manipulation abilities. Those are separate mechanics.
A Tier Demon Arts
Shockwave
Role: All-Rounder / Counter / Burst
Difficulty: High
Best for: Reactive melee and hybrid combat
Shockwave is probably the closest A-tier Art to the S-tier group.
Its kit includes:
- Air Type
- Compass Needle
- Explosive Fury
- Flashing Willow
- Annihilation Type
- Chaotic Afterglow variant
Air Type
Air Type can turn a successful ranged hit into a teleporting follow-up.
This helps solve one of the biggest problems with ranged attacks: actually getting back into melee range after landing the projectile.
However, you need to hit the target first.
It isn’t free pursuit.
Compass Needle
Compass Needle gives Shockwave a counter option.
If you successfully read your opponent’s attack, the counter can lead into Crown Splitter.
This makes Shockwave particularly useful for players who like reacting to their opponent instead of constantly attacking first.
Shockwave Variants
The Art also has attacks that change depending on factors such as height and distance.
Explosive Fury provides barrage pressure, while Flashing Willow and Annihilation Type give you different ways to approach single targets or groups.
Learning which version to use in each situation is important.
Soyama Synergy
Soyama works well with Shockwave.
Combat Intuition rewards you for dealing damage by storing it for a later bonus, while Bell Splitter gives you another counter opportunity.
However, don’t assume having two counters makes you impossible to punish.
If you fail the stance, you can still be locked out of attacking for a short period.
Dream Manipulation
Role: Control / Setup / Zoning
Difficulty: High
Best for: PvP and deliberate setup
Dream Manipulation is a strong choice for players who like controlling where their opponent can move.
Its kit includes:
- Melodic Whisper
- Ordained Flesh
- Piercing Flesh
- Flesh Barrage
- Flesh Monster
Melodic Whisper
Melodic Whisper has different effects depending on distance.
The ranged version can slow your opponent, while the closer version can apply sleep.
This means you need to pay attention to your positioning rather than using the same input from every distance.
The exact sleep duration and guaranteed follow-ups still require more testing.
Flesh Placement
Ordained Flesh allows you to establish a firing source and create pressure from a prepared position.
Piercing Flesh can then reward accurate cursor placement with a grab.
Flesh Barrage and Flesh Monster add more area pressure to the kit.
This makes Dream particularly good at controlling space.
Dream Weaknesses
The biggest problem is that your setup can be wasted if your opponent moves unpredictably.
Missing your cursor-based grab can cost you an important opportunity.
Boss resistance to sleep and grabs also needs more testing, so Dream’s strongest identity currently comes from PvP control rather than guaranteed boss farming.
Reaper
Role: Mobility / Close Pressure / Aerial Combat
Difficulty: Moderate with a high skill ceiling
Best for: Aggressive PvP
Reaper is an excellent option if you like staying close to your opponent.
Its kit includes:
- Reap of Despair
- Diving Punch
- Shindo
- Phantom Step
- Sonido Surge
The different movement-based attacks give you multiple ways to enter combat.
Reap of Despair
The grounded version advances into an assault and knockdown.
The aerial version changes into rotating slashes.
So your positioning determines how you should use the move.
Diving Punch
Diving Punch gives you another aerial approach and lets you attack from above.
This makes height management important when using Reaper.
Phantom Step
Phantom Step knocks the opponent away, which changes the situation completely.
Don’t automatically spend every movement ability at once. Keep one option available for the next approach or for escaping after the exchange.
Reaper Weaknesses
Reaper is strongest when you’re comfortable constantly managing distance.
If you spend all your movement abilities chasing one opponent, you can end up with no way to continue pressure once the exchange resets.
B Tier Demon Arts
Explosive Blood
Also known as: Blood Burst
Role: Conditional Burst
Difficulty: Moderate
Best for: Players who can capitalize on openings
Explosive Blood focuses more heavily on burst damage.
Its main issue is consistency.
Some of its sequences can be blocked or escaped, meaning you need to choose the right moment to use them.
The tornado can deal strong damage, but only if your opponent stays inside it.
How To Use Explosive Blood
Instead of throwing your biggest attack at an opponent who is already moving away, wait until you’ve created an opening.
You can also use allied control or punish an opponent who has committed to an attack.
Kamado can help with this because its Headbutt can knock an opponent down and disrupt their guard.
The exact interaction between Headbutt and individual Blood attacks depends on startup and recovery.
Arrow
Also known as: Arrow Manipulation
Role: Displacement / Range / Positioning
Difficulty: High
Best for: PvE spacing and coordinated teams
Arrow Manipulation is a more specialized ranged option.
Its currently known kit includes:
- Arrow Flight
- Arrow Eruption
- Additional moves still being assessed
Arrow Flight provides elevated movement and can change how you approach enemies.
Arrow Eruption and its displacement tools can also alter enemy positioning.
This is especially useful when playing with teammates.
Arrow Team Synergy
Yahaba is a natural clan choice for Arrow.
Arrow Regen can increase stamina regeneration after successfully landing an Arrow skill, while Disruption Pulse provides another knockback and debuff option.
This makes Yahaba useful during longer exchanges.
However, don’t confuse stamina regeneration with an instant resource refill.
Arrow Weaknesses
Arrow’s setup can be slower and more predictable than some of the higher-ranked Arts.
If an opponent resists displacement or can consistently reach you, some of the Art’s advantages become less important.
Obi Manipulation
Role: Duelist / Mix-Ups
Difficulty: High
Best for: PvP specialists
Obi Manipulation is currently in B Tier because it appears more suited to specialized PvP than general progression.
Its biggest potential comes from mix-ups.
A good mix-up forces the opponent to make different defensive decisions.
However, simply having multiple animations doesn’t automatically create a strong mix-up.
You need attacks that actually make your opponent respect different possibilities.
The exact guard breaks, grabs, cancels, and safest combo starters for Obi still require more testing.
Douma can provide defensive recovery, while Shabana can help in coordinated group fights.
For now, I’d recommend Obi mainly to players who specifically want to learn its dueling mechanics.
C Tier Demon Art
Tamari
Also known as: Temari
Role: Projectile Pressure / Resource Sustain
Difficulty: Moderate
Best for: Ranged PvE and specialist PvP
Tamari is currently my C-tier Demon Art.
That doesn’t mean it is unusable.
It simply has more consistency issues than the higher-ranked options.
Its kit includes:
- Spinning Throw
- Tamari Dunk
- Piercing Kick
- Tamari Meteor
- Spiraling Shot
Spinning Throw
Spinning Throw gives you both a quick and charged option.
The tap version can slow an opponent on hit, while holding the attack produces a larger projectile volley.
The charged version needs a proper opening because standing still for longer gives your opponent more time to react.
Tamari Dunk
Tamari Dunk provides a stun-and-explosion sequence.
This can create an opening for your next attack.
Piercing Kick
Piercing Kick gives you another follow-up option after making contact.
The important thing is to understand where the opponent will end up before continuing the combo.
Spiraling Shot
Spiraling Shot sends the opponent away.
This can be useful for controlling space, but it can also work against your own combo because your target may end up too far away for the next melee attack.
Susumaru Synergy
Susumaru makes Tamari more interesting.
Landing a Tamari skill can restore 5% Max Stamina and provide a short damage bonus.
That means accurate Tamari players can maintain pressure while getting additional resources.
However, missing your projectile can cost both damage and the potential resource benefit.
Best Demon Arts by Playstyle
Not everyone should use the same Demon Art.
Your preferred playstyle should be one of the biggest factors in your decision.
Best All-Rounder
Ice Manipulation
Choose Ice if you want a flexible Art that can handle groups, PvP pressure, ranged attacks, catches, and control.
Best for Boss Farming
Blood Manipulation
Blood Manipulation is particularly strong when you’re coordinating with other players and want to maintain shared boss damage windows.
Best Counter-Based Art
Shockwave
Shockwave is a great option if you enjoy reading your opponent and punishing their attacks.
Best Setup/Control Art
Dream Manipulation
Dream is suited to players who like controlling space and forcing opponents into uncomfortable positions.
Best Aggressive Melee Art
Reaper
Reaper is ideal for players who want to stay on top of their opponent and constantly look for new openings.
Best Ranged Specialist
Arrow
Arrow is a useful option for players who prefer distance, displacement, and positioning.
Best Specialist PvP Art
Obi Manipulation
Obi is more of a specialist choice right now, particularly for players interested in learning its mix-ups.
How Demon Arts Are Ranked
I don’t rank Demon Arts simply because they have the biggest damage number.
Instead, I look at the complete kit.
Damage
How much damage can the Art realistically produce when used correctly?
Combo Potential
Can the abilities reliably connect into one another?
Mobility
Can you close distance, escape pressure, or reposition after using an ability?
Crowd Control
Stuns, freezes, knockdowns, slows, grabs, and displacement can all create opportunities.
Range
An Art with both ranged and close options can be much more flexible than one that only works at one distance.
PvE Performance
How well does the Art handle NPCs, bosses, and groups?
PvP Performance
Can players easily dodge or punish its attacks, or does the Art have reliable ways to create openings?
Risk vs Reward
A powerful attack isn’t necessarily good if missing it leaves you completely open.
This is one of the biggest reasons some Arts are ranked below others.
Choosing a Clan for Your Demon Art
Your Demon Art and clan don’t necessarily need to match perfectly.
Instead, look for bonuses that actually improve the way you play.
For example:
Douma provides defensive repositioning and escape tools.
Soyama rewards offensive pressure and provides another counter.
Shabana works well for coordinated teams and provides party-oriented utility.
Susumaru has a particularly useful interaction with Tamari.
Yahaba has useful synergy with Arrow through stamina regeneration and additional ranged utility.
The important thing is to understand what the clan is contributing rather than choosing it simply because another player said it is meta.
How To Unlock Demon Arts in Slayers 2
To obtain a Blood Demon Art, you first need to become a Demon.
After that, you can use the appropriate Demon progression and obtain an Evil Art Orb.
Once you obtain the Orb for the Art you want, you can consume it to unlock that Demon Art and then progress through its Skill Tree and mastery requirements.
Some Arts can also have additional requirements.
For example, Blood Manipulation requires a Sickle, so you need to plan your weapon alongside your Demon Art.
Standard Sickles and Blood Sickles can support the build, while some ultimate abilities may require additional boss drops.
Blood Demon Art FAQ
How many Demon Arts are in Slayers 2?
There are nine launch Blood Demon Arts covered in this tier list:
- Ice Manipulation
- Blood Manipulation
- Shockwave
- Dream Manipulation
- Reaper
- Explosive Blood
- Arrow
- Obi Manipulation
- Tamari
What is the best Demon Art in Slayers 2?
For an overall early-launch recommendation, Ice Manipulation is my S-tier pick because of its combination of AoE, control, ranged options, and close-range pressure.
For coordinated boss farming, Blood Manipulation is another S-tier option.
What is the best Demon Art for PvP?
Ice Manipulation is the most flexible PvP option in this early ranking.
Dream Manipulation is a strong alternative if you enjoy controlling space and setting up catches, while Reaper is better suited to aggressive melee players.
Shockwave is another strong choice for players who enjoy counters.
What is the best Demon Art for PvE?
For group boss farming, Blood Manipulation is my current recommendation.
For general PvE and groups of enemies, Ice Manipulation offers more flexible AoE and control.
The exact best option can still change depending on the boss, your clan, weapon, and team.
Does Blood Manipulation require a weapon?
Yes.
Blood Manipulation requires a Sickle.
Because of this, you should plan your weapon before committing fully to the Art.
Are Blood Manipulation and Explosive Blood the same?
No.
They are completely different Demon Arts.
Blood Manipulation is the S-tier Sickle-based Art, while Explosive Blood is a separate burst-focused Art currently placed in B Tier.
Is Tamari also called Temari?
Yes.
Tamari and Temari refer to the same projectile-focused Demon Art.
It is currently ranked C Tier in this early assessment, although Susumaru can give it a useful stamina-based setup.
Does your clan need to match your Demon Art?
No.
Matching your clan and Demon Art can be useful, but it isn’t mandatory.
The better approach is to look at what your clan actually provides and whether those abilities improve your preferred combat style.
The Slayers 2 Demon Art meta is still developing, especially this early after launch. Some Arts may become significantly better once players discover optimized combos, weapon interactions, clan combinations, and boss-specific strategies.
For now, Ice Manipulation and Blood Manipulation sit at the top of my tier list, with Ice being the more flexible all-round option and Blood Manipulation standing out for coordinated boss fights.
Shockwave, Dream Manipulation, and Reaper are excellent A-tier choices for players who prefer counters, setup, or aggressive melee combat.
The B-tier Arts aren’t bad either. They simply require more specific situations or better execution to reach their full potential.
Most importantly, don’t choose your Demon Art only because someone says it is S Tier. Think about what you actually enjoy doing. If you love aggressive melee combat, Reaper may be much more enjoyable for you than a ranged Art. If you prefer controlling enemies and setting up attacks, Dream or Ice may fit you better.
The launch meta will continue changing, so these rankings should be treated as an early September 2026 guide, not a permanent verdict on every Demon Art.
