Progressing through the story in Morimens feels pretty smooth at the beginning, but once you start entering the harder Arc stages, random team setups stop working very quickly. Enemies begin scaling harder, boss mechanics become more punishing, and weak synergy starts showing immediately.
One thing I learned after experimenting with multiple realms is that a properly built realm-focused team performs much better than simply stacking random strong characters together. Chaos, Aequor, Caro, and Ultra all play very differently, and understanding what each realm wants to do makes progression much easier.
Some teams focus on overwhelming damage, some abuse tentacle scaling, while others rely on embryos, shields, or fast crit rotations. Because of that, choosing the correct DPS and support combination matters far more than many newer players realize.
Arc 1 Wheel Recommendations
Before talking about teams, your wheels matter a lot more than people expect during story progression.
Chains Unbound
Chains Unbound is honestly the safest starting wheel for most main DPS characters early on.
At Enlightenment 3, this wheel gives a huge increase to base card damage, which helps tremendously before your crit stats are fully developed. A lot of players immediately rush Blade of the Titan, but after testing both setups, Chains Unbound consistently performs better until your DPS reaches around 70% crit rate.
If your crit consistency still feels unreliable, this wheel usually gives smoother results.
Blade of the Titan
Blade of the Titan starts outperforming Chains Unbound once your DPS gets enough crit investment.
This wheel becomes extremely strong on characters that:
- Exalt frequently
- Play multiple cards during the same turn
- Scale heavily with crit damage
Once your DPS crosses that 70% crit threshold, the damage spike from Blade of the Titan becomes very noticeable during boss fights.
To My Dearest Friend
To my Dearest Friend is one of the best support wheels for progression teams.
The wheel works best when:
- Your support exalts first
- Your main DPS exalts immediately afterward
It helps push your carry into much more consistent crit ranges and makes burst turns significantly stronger.
Chaos Story Teams
Chaos remains one of the easiest realms to build around because of how stable the teams feel throughout progression.
The realm naturally provides:
- Double Posse triggers
- Extra S-energy
- Additional Aliemus generation
- High Death Resistance
- Better relic consistency
Even in difficult stages, Chaos teams usually remain very comfortable to pilot.
Core Chaos Carries
Tawil
Tawil is still one of the strongest long-term investments for story progression.
Once properly built, she completely takes over fights through sheer scaling and damage output. Her synergy with Chaos supports is excellent, and she transitions into late-game content far better than most DPS characters.
She especially shines in longer battles where her scaling has time to fully ramp up.
Kathigu
Kathigu is another incredibly strong Chaos carry with massive burst damage potential.
Compared to Tawil, Kathigu feels more aggressive and explosive during fights. She can clear difficult encounters extremely quickly once her setup starts rolling.
Players who prefer faster-paced clears usually enjoy her playstyle more.
Lotan
Lotan works as a strong alternative if you do not have the premium carries fully invested yet.
She still performs very well in midgame progression and is much easier to build compared to several limited units.
Core Chaos Supports
Ryker
Ryker is arguably one of the best supports available for Chaos teams.
His relic generation, card draw, and overall utility massively improve team consistency, especially alongside Tawil setups.
A properly built Ryker makes Chaos teams feel much smoother during difficult story stages.
Ramona
Ramona continues to be valuable because of her card tutoring and Keyflare support.
Being able to fetch specific cards during important turns is incredibly useful during boss fights.
gRamona
gRamona scales especially well inside advanced Chaos teams because of how well her strength scaling interacts with stronger carries.
Hameln
Hameln is another excellent utility support that helps maintain momentum during longer encounters.
He becomes more valuable the longer fights last.
Ogier
Ogier provides a lot of defensive comfort through shields and strength buffs.
He is especially useful for players still stabilizing their midgame progression teams.
Aequor Story Teams
Aequor teams start feeling weaker during midgame unless properly invested, which is something many players notice very quickly.
However, once the realm is fully built, the tentacle scaling and synergy become extremely powerful again.
Aequor focuses heavily on:
- Tentacle attacks
- Additional follow-up hits
- Chaos synergy
- Aliemus generation
Main Aequor Damage Dealers
24
24 remains one of the strongest blue carries in the game.
Her poison application and scaling are extremely reliable, and she performs exceptionally well inside dedicated Aequor teams.
A lot of advanced players still use her as their primary blue DPS because of how consistent she feels.
gMurphy
gMurphy becomes incredibly strong once heavily invested.
She scales very hard into endgame and works especially well with Aliemus battery supports.
Tawil
Even outside pure Chaos teams, Tawil still performs extremely well in Aequor setups because of how flexible her overall kit is.
Aurita
Aurita works best in heavily invested Aftershock teams.
She requires more setup compared to some other carries, but her overall damage becomes impressive once properly built.
Main Aequor Supports
Corposant
Corposant is one of the most important Aequor supports because of:
- Temporary tentacle generation
- Red stance synergy
- Additional hit scaling
- Strong lightning damage
Her utility massively boosts overall team output.
Miryam
Miryam works mainly as an Aliemus battery and helps stabilize the flow of longer fights.
Caecus
Caecus adds healing and counter utility while also helping survivability during harder encounters.
gDoll
gDoll improves tentacle scaling significantly and becomes very strong in advanced blue setups.
Clementine
Clementine remains useful almost everywhere because of her incredible utility.
She provides:
- Mob clearing
- Strength stacking
- Huge Keyflare generation
which makes progression much easier overall.
Caro Story Teams
Caro teams become much stronger once proper supports are added.
The realm heavily focuses on:
- Crimson Furnace scaling
- Embryo Fusion
- HP scaling
- Sustain-based gameplay
Without strong support synergy, Caro can feel inconsistent during harder stages.
Main Caro Carries
Gelot
Gelot is one of the strongest Caro carries available.
Her scaling becomes absurd during longer encounters, and she performs extremely well in difficult progression stages.
Many late-game players still rely on Gelot teams because of how reliable her damage becomes.
Salvador
Salvador offers a very balanced combination of:
- Damage
- Healing
- Survivability
- Consistency
which makes him one of the safest story progression carries overall.
Sorel
Sorel scales extremely hard once her crit setup is fully online.
Her embryo interactions and late-game damage are honestly very impressive once properly optimized.
Uvash
Uvash becomes much stronger at higher investment levels and works very well in advanced Caro teams.
Doresain
Doresain performs especially well against bosses with massive health pools.
He is somewhat more matchup dependent than some other carries, but still very effective in the correct fights.
Main Caro Supports
Thais
Thais feels almost mandatory for many Caro teams.
She provides:
- Super Embryos
- Aliemus generation
- Weakness application
- Keyflare support
Her overall utility is honestly incredible.
Horla
Horla provides emotional buffs, healing, and strong synergy with Crimson Furnace teams.
She fits naturally into many Caro compositions.
Aigis
Aigis becomes extremely useful because of her petrify utility.
Extra turns during difficult boss fights can completely change the outcome of a run.
Faint
Faint provides:
- Death resistance
- Weakness stacking
- Defensive utility
which helps stabilize difficult encounters.
Pickman
Pickman helps boost scaling for characters like Doresain and Sorel while also improving relic consistency.
Ultra Story Teams
Ultra teams generally follow two different approaches:
- Fast aggressive crit setups
- Slower defensive shield-based teams
The realm naturally gains:
- Permanent strength scaling
- Enemy strength reduction
- Increased crit damage
which gives Ultra teams very strong scaling during longer fights.
Main Ultra DPS Units
Daffodil
Daffodil is one of the strongest aggressive Ultra carries for faster clears.
She scales very well during shorter fights and clears waves extremely efficiently.
Pollux
Pollux provides massive burst damage and performs very well in crit-focused Ultra setups.
Kathigu
Kathigu remains extremely powerful even outside Chaos teams because her raw damage scaling is simply that strong.
Wanda
Wanda works especially well in counter-focused compositions.
Liz
Liz can become extremely strong, although she is harder to use efficiently during midgame progression.
Main Ultra Supports
Castor
Castor is one of the best defensive supports for slower Ultra teams.
His corrosion effects and shielding make difficult story fights much safer.
Lily
Lily provides incredible sustain through:
- Healing
- Defense
- Endure layers
- Survivability
She is especially strong for slower progression teams.
Tinct
Tinct helps reduce Arithmetica costs while also cleansing debuffs and boosting crit scaling.
Nautila
Nautila works very well in shield-heavy and counter-focused setups while also providing excellent survivability.
