Moonlight Peaks Spell Tier List & Complete Spell Guide

Magic is what truly sets Moonlight Peaks apart from other farming sims. While you can complete most tasks manually, spells dramatically speed up farming, gathering resources, and organizing your farm. However, not every spell is equally useful. Some are game-changing from the moment you unlock them, while others are better suited for specific situations.

This guide ranks every spell currently available in Moonlight Peaks, explains what each one does, and highlights which spells you should prioritize buying first.

How to Unlock Spells

You won’t have access to magic at the beginning of the game.

After progressing through the main story, Luna will send you a letter asking you to visit her farm. This starts the Magic of Crops quest, where you’ll repair your broken wand at Webb of Wonders.

Once your wand is fixed, you’ll learn your first spell, Aquaflux I.

After that, Sabrina’s shop becomes your primary place for purchasing additional spells.

How Spell Casting Works

Every spell uses a unique directional pattern.

To successfully cast a spell:

  • Equip your Wand.
  • Open the spell wheel.
  • Follow the displayed pattern exactly.
  • Complete every direction correctly.

Missing even one input causes the spell to fail while still wasting valuable time.

Every spell also consumes Mana, which slowly regenerates and becomes easier to manage later in the game.

Moonlight Peaks Spell Tier List

Tier Spells
S Tier Aquaflux I & II, Ethereal Hands I & II, Refilliarmus, Maturio I & II
A Tier Ethereal Shovels I & II, Ethereal Pickaxes I & II, Ethereal Axes I & II
B Tier Hoisthaven, Tomorrow’s Tears, Aborascend I & II
C Tier Metamorphosia I

S Tier Spells

These are the spells you’ll use constantly. They save enormous amounts of time and should be your highest priority.

Aquaflux I

Mana Cost: 1

Effect

Waters up to 16 crops automatically.

This is easily one of the best early-game spells. Watering crops by hand becomes tedious as your farm expands, and Aquaflux removes most of that work.

Why It’s S Tier

  • Huge time saver.
  • Extremely low Mana cost.
  • Essential for magical crops.
  • One of the first spells you unlock.

Aquaflux II

Mana Cost: 1

Effect

Waters up to 48 crops.

This is simply a much stronger version of Aquaflux I.

Once your farm starts growing, you’ll barely remember what watering manually felt like.

Priority: Buy immediately after unlocking the Witch’s Wand.

Ethereal Hands I

Mana Cost: 1

Effect

Harvests up to 32 crops instantly.

Instead of harvesting crops one by one, this spell clears entire fields in seconds.

The larger your farm becomes, the more valuable this spell gets.

Ethereal Hands II

Mana Cost: 1

Effect

Harvests up to 64 crops.

One of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades in the entire game.

If farming is your main income source, this spell becomes indispensable.

Refilliarmus

Mana Cost: 0

Effect

Instantly refills your watering can.

Zero Mana.

Instant refill.

No trips back to rivers.

Need I say more?

This spell becomes incredibly convenient once you’re managing larger farms.

Maturio I

Mana Cost: 2

Effect

Instantly grows crops in a 1×1 area.

Although it only affects a small area, instantly growing crops can be extremely useful when you’re waiting for quest items or specific harvests.

Maturio II

Mana Cost: 2

Effect

Instantly grows crops in a 2×2 area.

The improved version makes this spell significantly more practical and worth using regularly.

A Tier Spells

These aren’t quite as universally useful as the S Tier spells, but they’ll save plenty of time throughout your playthrough.

Ethereal Shovels I

Mana Cost: 1

Effect

Digs up to 32 farmland tiles.

Preparing huge crop fields manually takes forever.

This spell makes farm expansion much quicker.

Ethereal Shovels II

Mana Cost: 1

Effect

Digs 64 tiles.

Perfect once you begin redesigning or expanding your fields.

Ethereal Axes I

Mana Cost: 2

Effect

Cuts up to 16 trees or logs.

Wood is always in demand.

Instead of chopping trees individually, this spell clears an entire section almost instantly.

Ethereal Axes II

Mana Cost: 2

Effect

Cuts 32 trees or logs.

Ideal for gathering construction materials quickly.

Ethereal Pickaxes I

Mana Cost: 2

Effect

Breaks up to 16 rocks.

Mining materials become increasingly important later in the game, making this spell a worthwhile investment.

Ethereal Pickaxes II

Mana Cost: 2

Effect

Breaks up to 32 rocks.

Excellent for gathering stone and ores efficiently.

B Tier Spells

Useful in the right situations but not something you’ll cast every night.

Hoisthaven

Mana Cost: 3

Effect

Moves buildings.

This spell saves time if you’re redesigning your farm.

However, most players won’t rearrange buildings very often.

Tomorrow’s Tears

Mana Cost: 3

Effect

Makes the next night rainy.

Rain can save watering time, especially before unlocking stronger watering spells.

Still, once Aquaflux II becomes available, this spell loses much of its value.

Aborascend I

Mana Cost: 2

Effect

Moves one tree.

Helpful if a tree blocks your farm layout.

Outside of decorating, you probably won’t cast it often.

Aborascend II

Mana Cost: 2

Effect

Moves five trees.

A significant improvement, but still mostly useful during large farm redesigns.

C Tier Spell

Metamorphosia I

Mana Cost: 3

Effect

Transforms one crop into another.

This sounds exciting at first, but in practice it has fairly limited use.

Since seeds are generally affordable and crops grow relatively quickly, most players rarely need to transform crops.

It’s still a fun spell to experiment with, just not one I’d prioritize purchasing.

Witch’s Wand Upgrades

After obtaining the Witch’s Wand, you’ll gain access to upgraded versions of several spells.

These include:

  • Aquaflux II
  • Ethereal Hands II
  • Ethereal Axes II
  • Ethereal Pickaxes II
  • Ethereal Shovels II
  • Maturio II
  • Aborascend II

Each upgrade dramatically increases the number of targets affected while keeping Mana costs nearly identical, making them worthwhile long-term investments.

Best Spell Purchase Order

If you’re wondering which spells to buy first, I’d recommend unlocking them in this order:

  1. Aquaflux I
  2. Refilliarmus
  3. Ethereal Hands I
  4. Maturio I
  5. Ethereal Shovels I
  6. Ethereal Pickaxes I
  7. Ethereal Axes I
  8. Aquaflux II
  9. Ethereal Hands II
  10. Remaining utility spells

This order focuses on reducing repetitive farm work as quickly as possible.

Spells completely transform how you play Moonlight Peaks. What starts as a slow, hands-on farming experience eventually becomes a smooth magical routine where entire fields are watered, harvested, and prepared in seconds.

While every spell has its place, the biggest priorities should always be those that save you time every single night. Focus on improving your farming spells first, then expand into gathering and utility magic as your farm grows.
