The Awakening Serum Quest is one of the later quests in the Drylands update, and unlike earlier objectives, this one requires you to visit multiple locations and pay attention to specific weather conditions.
If you’re stuck on one of the objectives, it’s usually because you’re fishing in the wrong place—or during the wrong weather. Once you know where each task takes place, the quest becomes much easier to complete.
Here’s a complete walkthrough of every Awakening Serum objective.
Fisch Awakening Serum Quest Guide – Claypans & Sunken Tasks
To finish the quest, you’ll need to complete three separate tasks:
- Catch fish in the Terrosunder area during a Dust Storm.
- Catch 5 unique fish from the Sunken Reservoir.
- Catch 5 unique fish from the Claypans during Torrential Rain.
Each objective has different requirements, so let’s go through them one by one.
Task 1: Fish at Terrosunder During a Dust Storm
This is the most specific part of the quest.
First, you’ll need to wait for Terrosunder, the giant prehistoric creature that roams the Drylands, to appear. When it spawns, you’ll notice a marked area around it.
However, Terrosunder spawning alone isn’t enough.
You also need:
- Dust Storm weather to be active.
- A Sand Sifter Bobber equipped.
Instead of fishing in water, you’ll be Sand Fishing inside Terrosunder’s marked zone.
Requirements
- Wait for Terrosunder to spawn.
- Wait until a Dust Storm begins.
- Equip the Sand Sifter Bobber.
- Fish inside the marked sand area.
If you’re using a normal fishing setup or standing outside the marked zone, this objective won’t progress.
Task 2: Catch 5 Unique Fish from the Sunken Reservoir
The second objective is much easier.
The Sunken Reservoir is located directly behind the NPC who gives you the Awakening Serum Quest.
Simply head to the water behind the quest giver and start fishing.
You’ll need to catch:
5 unique fish
Only different species count toward your progress, so duplicates won’t help complete the objective.
The good news is that this task has no weather requirement, meaning you can finish it whenever you want.
Task 3: Catch 5 Unique Fish from the Claypans
The final objective also requires you to catch 5 unique fish, but there’s one important condition.
The Claypans are normally dry and cannot be fished.
You’ll need to wait for the special Torrential Rain weather event.
During Torrential Rain, the Claypans fill with water, making them fishable for a limited time.
Once the weather begins:
- Find one of the flooded Claypans.
- Start fishing.
- Catch 5 unique fish.
Since the weather event doesn’t last forever, it’s a good idea to begin fishing as soon as the rain starts.
The Awakening Serum Quest is mostly about being in the right place at the right time. The Sunken Reservoir objective can be completed immediately, while the Terrosunder and Claypans tasks depend on specific weather events.
Once you’ve sand fished in the Terrosunder zone during a Dust Storm, caught 5 unique fish from the Sunken Reservoir, and collected 5 unique fish from the flooded Claypans during Torrential Rain, you’ll complete the Awakening Serum Quest and be ready to move on to the next stage of the Drylands questline.
