Fisch Anomaly Investigation Guide – Find Broken Stars

The Anomaly Investigation quest in Fisch is one of those objectives that sounds more complicated than it actually is. When the game tells you to investigate the anomaly and find Broken Stars, it doesn’t give you a huge amount of direction.

You need to head into Northern Expedition, make your way to Boreal Pines, and then use a Starfall Totem to reveal the locations where Broken Stars can be found.

Fisch Anomaly Investigation Guide – How to Find Broken Stars

Here’s the route I used to get through the objective without wasting time searching the entire area.

Head to Northern Expedition First

Your first stop is Northern Expedition.

Once you arrive, continue through the area until you reach the section where you can use your Traveler’s Whistle. Pull it out and use it to travel toward Boreal Pines.

There isn’t much point searching for the quest item before reaching this area. The Broken Stars you need for the investigation are connected to what happens here.

Find the NPC at Boreal Pines

After arriving at Boreal Pines, look for the NPC involved with the anomaly investigation.

Talk to them and continue through the dialogue. This is what unlocks the actual objective to search for Broken Stars.

This is where the quest can become confusing because the Broken Stars aren’t simply placed around the map like a normal collectible.

You have to trigger the right event first.

Use a Starfall Totem

Once the investigation asks you to find Broken Stars, pull out a Starfall Totem and activate it.

This is the important step.

After Starfall begins, start looking around Boreal Pines for pink beams of light. These are the visual indicators you want to follow.

If you’ve already encountered the beams associated with Cosmic Relics, the appearance should feel familiar.

Where Are the Broken Stars?

The Broken Stars are located at the Starfall locations marked by those pink beams.

So rather than running around Boreal Pines checking random spots, wait for the Starfall event and use the beams to guide your search.

When you spot one, travel toward the beam and investigate the area. That’s where you’ll find the Broken Star connected to the quest.

If you don’t see one straight away, keep checking the Starfall locations. The key is to focus on the pink beams rather than searching the entire Northern Expedition region.

Anomaly Investigation Route

For a quick reminder, the entire process looks like this:

Northern Expedition → Traveler’s Whistle → Boreal Pines → Investigation NPC → Starfall Totem → Pink Beam → Broken Star

That’s really all there is to this part of the quest.

The biggest thing that can throw you off is assuming that Broken Stars are regular map collectibles. They’re tied to the Starfall event, so activating the Starfall Totem should be your first move once the objective becomes available.

After you locate the required Broken Stars, the investigation can continue and you’ll be ready for the next part of the Astral Observatory questline.
