Rime is one of Fellowship’s most rewarding DPS classes — built around fast-cast ice spells, timing-based burst windows, and precise orb management. While she doesn’t open strong like some melee classes, Rime’s potential grows rapidly as you unlock her core talents and begin to understand how Winter’s Embrace works.
This Fellowship Rime Build focuses on making Rime feel smooth, consistent, and deadly in both single-target and AoE fights. It’s not a strict meta setup — rather a reliable layout that captures her best strengths without overcomplicating execution.
Fellowship Rime Build Guide – Talent Setup, Rotation
Rime’s entire kit revolves around one key moment — Winter’s Embrace, a short three-second window that boosts all damage by 20% once Bursting Ice finishes casting. Everything in her rotation builds toward fitting as many heavy-hitting spells as possible into that brief period.
The secret to Rime’s success isn’t raw speed, but timing. Fellowship’s queue system lets you preload actions, meaning even at high latency you can perform the rotation without clipping or missing the buff. Once you get used to her rhythm, she becomes one of the most fluid spellcasters in the game.
Talent Setup
Early Playtest (Before Cithrel’s)
When starting out, your goal should be reaching Dungeon Rating 803, which grants 7 talent points. Focus on finishing the left side of the Star Chart and prioritize talents that enhance your burst phase and orb generation.
Recommended Points:
Coalescing Frost – boosts overall orb efficiency.
Avalanche – adds strong burst potential and cooldown synergy.
Burstbolter – faster build-up for Embrace windows.
Winter’s Embrace – the foundation of your entire damage cycle.
(You can swap Burstbolter for Navir’s Keeper if you prefer a slightly slower but more stable playstyle.)
After Cithrel’s
Once you’ve cleared Cithrel’s milestone, pick up:
- Greater Glacial Blast – massive single-target upgrade that empowers your Embrace burst phase.
Then add points into either:
- Glacial Assault (for more direct DPS), or
- Talon’s Edict / Biting Cold (for smoother orb management).
Your core setup will always include:
Winter’s Embrace, Avalanche, and Greater Glacial Blast.
Single Target Rotation
Goal: Fit as many abilities as possible inside the Winter’s Embrace window.
Winter’s Embrace Sequence:
- Flight of the Navir → Bursting Ice → Freezing Torrent → Cold Snap
If fighting two enemies:
- Bursting Ice → Glacial Blast → Cold Snap / Ice Comet
Priority Order:
Ice Blitz
Winter’s Blessing
Flight of the Navir
Bursting Ice (to trigger Embrace)
Freezing Torrent
Cold Snap (avoid orb overcap)
Glacial Blast (only if orbs available)
Frost Bolt (as filler)
Timing Example (0% Haste):
–3.5s: Flight of the Navir
–2.0s: Bursting Ice (Embrace begins when cast finishes)
0.0s: Freezing Torrent
2.0s: Cold Snap
You have roughly 1 second of breathing room between finishing Torrent and casting Cold Snap — plenty of time once the muscle memory kicks in.
AOE Rotation
Winter’s Embrace AOE Sequence:
- Pool 4 Winter Orbs → Freezing Torrent → Bursting Ice → Ice Comet → Ice Comet
AOE Priority:
Ice Blitz
Winter’s Blessing
Flight of the Navir
Freezing Torrent
Bursting Ice
Cold Snap (avoid orb cap)
Ice Comet (x2)
Frost Bolt (filler)
Timing Example (0% Haste):
–4.0s: Freezing Torrent
–2.0s: Bursting Ice (activates Embrace)
0.0s: Ice Comet
1.5s: Ice Comet
You can easily fit both casts inside the buff duration even without Haste investment.
Winter’s Embrace
When Bursting Ice finishes casting, Winter’s Embrace activates for 3 seconds, boosting all damage by 20%. During this time, all queued spells benefit from the buff, including ongoing channels like Freezing Torrent.
Many players assume the timing is overly strict, but Fellowship’s spell queue window makes it surprisingly lenient. Even with moderate latency (200–300ms), every ability still registers within the Embrace period.
At 50% Haste, you can even fit an extra Cold Snap into your burst phase — a strong late-game optimization worth practicing.
Stat Priority
While Rime does benefit from certain Haste breakpoints that increase Anima gain, the open playtest gear ceiling makes full optimization unnecessary. Focus on maintaining high item level first, then follow this general order:
Item Level > Haste (until breakpoint) > Spirit > Crit = Expertise
Rime is a perfect mix of control and rhythm — not the flashiest DPS on paper, but one that feels rewarding every time you hit your rotation cleanly. Her gameplay is defined by smart timing, smooth execution, and a satisfying flow once the rotation clicks.
This build focuses on stability and consistency over gimmicks, giving players a reliable Frost setup for both solo and team dungeon runs. As Fellowship enters Early Access, Rime’s toolkit is well-positioned to scale even higher — making her a class worth mastering now before the meta shifts.
