The Enshrouded Illuminate the Night quest is a challenging main quest in the game, marking a significant exploration through dangerous territories. The Enshrouded Illuminate the Night quest has three main objectives:
- Investigate the Barrier.
- Open the Night Door and Explore the Sanctum.
- Summon the Barber.
Your adventure begins east of Fort Kelvin, where you’ll stumble upon an ancient barrier obstructing your path. As you approach the area, make sure to investigate this barrier closely to unlock your next steps toward opening the sanctum.
1) Investigate the barrier
To start, head toward the Enshrouded Illuminate the Night marker and descend into the Shroud. After searching around, you’ll eventually locate a massive door leading into the Elder’s Night Sanctum. Once you spot this, your objective will shift to opening the Night Door and delving into the Sanctum itself.

Interact with the main door to enter the sanctum, but note that it can only be opened during nighttime for it to function. Once inside, you’ll enter a room that features a domed structure with a small flame flickering at its center, casting a pink beam of light clearly visible from a distance.

Go around the structure and proceed straight ahead.

As you traverse the Elder’s Night Sanctum, watch out for various traps that pose a risk as you delve deeper. Observing your surroundings carefully and moving with caution is key here—don’t rush through or you might find yourself caught off-guard.
As you move deeper into the Elder’s Night Sanctum, you will encounter multiple traps that you have to be careful about. Pay attention to the floor and ceiling as you explore. Avoid rushing through and be patient.

From the dome structure, head straight until you reach a path splitting left or right. Take the left, as the right path is currently locked. Avoid the various traps and continue until you eventually find a glowing button at the end of this path. Interact with the button and trigger it.
Now trace your steps back to the path split and take the right path, which should now be unlocked.

Once the locked path is open, enter the room to find the Barber’s pod at the end. This is where you can awaken Elio Ricci, the survivor associated with the quest.
Approach the pod and select the ‘Awaken Survivor’ option. After interacting with it, the quest objective changes to Summon the Barber, and the game displays the notification “SOUL DISCOVERED! ELIO RICCI.”

6) Summon Elio Ricci at Base
With Elio Ricci’s soul collected, exit the Elder’s Night Sanctum and make your way back to your base. Here’s what you need to do to summon him:
- Equip the Summoning Staff.
- Choose the Attune summoning staff option to view the list of available survivors.
- Look for Elio Ricci in the CRAFTSPEOPLE category.
- Select Elio Ricci, the Barber to place him at your base.
- Equip the Summoning Staff.
- Select the Attune summoning staff option to open the list of available survivors.
- Navigate to the CRAFTSPEOPLE category.
- Select Elio Ricci, the Barber.
- Place Elio Ricci at your base.

Upon successfully placing Elio Ricci at your base, you can now rest easy knowing that you’ve completed the Enshrouded Illuminate the Night quest. Not only do you obtain 1,200 experience points for your efforts, but you also gain a valuable craftsperson to assist in your future endeavors.
Apart from earning 1,200 experience points as a reward from completing Enshrouded Illuminate the Night, you also have Elio Ricci, the Barber, at your base as a craftsperson.
