Cyberpunk 2077 Dual Wield Guide – Unlocking Double

Thanks to the recent update, players can now dual wield handguns in Cyberpunk 2077, bringing more firepower to encounters.
With Jackie Welles showcasing his signature pistols, players can finally experience dual-wielding in Cyberpunk 2077 thanks to the new Double Trouble perk introduced in Update 2.5. However, be mindful that not all handguns can be dual-wielded, which might catch some players off guard.

Unlocking dual wielding in Cyberpunk 2077 requires you to obtain the Double Trouble perk located within the Cool skill tree.

To find this perk, open your Character menu, navigate to the Cool attribute tree, and locate Double Trouble. This perk features two levels, each enhancing your dual-wielding capabilities.
Once you reach Level 1, you’ll be able to wield two Power pistols or revolvers, but at a damage penalty of 37.5%. Additionally, when aiming, you will experience a reduction in recoil and bullet spread by 15%, and you can fire both weapons at the same time.
Reaching Level 2 unlocks the Heywood Hurricane ability, allowing both guns to fire automatically for a second. While doing this, bullet spread increases by 50%, but any successful shots will automatically replenish ammo spent. This ability replaces your Quick Melee Attack.

To complement your dual-wielding style, there are four additional perks that enhance this combat approach.

A significant limitation to keep in mind is that the Double Trouble perk only works with Power pistols and revolvers. If you were hoping to dual wield shotguns, you’ll need to rethink your strategy.

Similarly, Smart and Tech pistols cannot be dual wielded. Always check that your weapons fall under the Power category and be aware that it’s still uncertain if mixing different Power handguns is possible.
Jackie Welles’ beloved La Chingona Dorada pistols belong to the Power category, making them ideal for this new feature.

Can You Dual Wield Jackie’s Pistols?

Completing the Heroes side quest is necessary to obtain these pistols. After finishing it, simply wait for about 24 in-game hours and return to Jackie’s altar at El Coyote Cojo to collect the pistols.
You do not need Phantom Liberty or any mod to dual wield. This feature is included in the free Update 2.5, which launched on October 22, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Nintendo Switch 2 set to receive it later.
