End of Abyss Morgue Dweller Boss Location Guide

The Morgue Dweller is one of the optional bosses you can fight in End of Abyss. It is not required for the main story, but defeating it is definitely worth doing because there is useful loot waiting for you afterward, along with the Dweller Dislikes Smoke trophy.

In this guide, I’ll show you exactly how to reach the Morgue Dweller, including how to unlock the Infirmary and find your way through the area. The route can be a little confusing because the Infirmary has several corridors and enemies along the way, so I’ll break everything down step by step.

I’ll also explain the boss fight itself and the attacks you need to watch for. The Morgue Dweller has a few different attacks, including slams, charges, vomit attacks, and smaller enemies, but once you understand the safe positioning, the fight becomes much easier to manage.

End of Abyss Morgue Dweller Boss Location Guide – Dweller Dislikes

Before you can reach the Morgue Dweller, you need to have obtained the Incinerator.

The Incinerator is a story-related weapon that you get in the Lower Levels.

If you haven’t reached that point yet, you won’t be able to access the route to the Infirmary.

You should also make sure you have enough ammunition and healing resources before starting the trip. There are several enemy encounters along the way, and you will eventually need to fight the boss.

How to Unlock the Infirmary

Once you have the Incinerator, head to the location shown for the Infirmary entrance.

You will find a pile of bodies blocking the way.

Use your Incinerator on the bodies and burn them away.

Once the bodies are cleared, you can pick up the Infirmary Access Card.

Make sure you grab it because you cannot properly access the Infirmary without it.

Travel to the Habitation Sector

After obtaining the access card, head to a Shuttle Station and travel back to the Habitation Sector.

Once you arrive, head downward and then move toward the right.

There may be a wall blocking your route depending on your progression.

If you encounter it, use the Incinerator to burn through it.

Continue forward and you will eventually reach the lift.

Take the lift down to enter the route leading toward the Infirmary.

Find the Restricted Access Keycard

Once you leave the lift, the route can be slightly confusing.

From here, continue forward and head upward.

You will encounter several enemies along the way. You can fight them if you want, but if you’re only interested in reaching the boss, you can also sprint and roll past many of them.

Keep moving toward the right, then head downward and continue right again.

Eventually, you will reach a room on the left.

Go through the room and continue to the other side.

In the room directly opposite, you will find the Restricted Access Keycard.

Pick it up because you’ll need it to continue deeper into the Infirmary.

Use the Restricted Access Keycard

After collecting the keycard, make your way back out of the room.

Continue upward until you reach the door on the left.

Use the Restricted Access Keycard to open it.

From here, you’ll have to make your way down a long set of stairs.

At the bottom, you’ll reach a Restoration Room.

Save Before the Boss Area

This is a good place to stop and prepare yourself.

I strongly recommend using the Restoration Room to save your progress before continuing.

You can also use the nearby Workbench to craft any ammunition you need.

There are several enemies ahead that you will have to deal with, so going in prepared can save you from having to repeat the entire route if something goes wrong.

Get Through the Infirmary

Continue to the left from the Restoration Room.

You will enter an area where an ambush takes place.

Take your time here because there are several enemies to deal with.

Once you’ve cleared the ambush, continue left.

Then head upward into the room at the top.

You will find a Map Expansion here.

Make sure you collect it because it will make navigating the rest of the Infirmary much easier.

After grabbing the map expansion, continue downward through the corridor.

The area starts becoming more maze-like from here, so keep checking your map if you aren’t sure where to go.

Continue through the corridors, moving around the enemies as necessary.

You can fight everything you encounter, but there is no real reason to stop for every enemy if your goal is simply to reach the Morgue Dweller.

Keep heading around the area until you eventually reach the lower-right section.

Continue right and then head upward.

The boss arena will be directly ahead.

Morgue Dweller Boss Fight

Once you enter the room, the Morgue Dweller boss fight begins.

The main thing that helped during this fight is staying toward the left and right sides of the arena, around the bodies.

This positioning gives you a relatively safe area from one of the boss’s main attacks.

Stay to the Sides

The Morgue Dweller can spit a nasty vomit attack across the arena.

If you stay toward the sides around the bodies, the attack is much easier to avoid.

From there, you can keep firing at the boss with your preferred weapon.

The sidearm is particularly useful because of its unlimited ammunition.

You can keep damaging the boss without constantly worrying about running out of ammo.

Watch for the Slam

One of the most important attacks to watch for is the Morgue Dweller’s slam.

When the boss jumps and comes crashing down, don’t try to tank the hit.

Instead, immediately dodge-roll away.

Keep your distance and return to your position on the side once the attack is finished.

The same applies when the boss performs its jumping attacks.

Watch its movement carefully and be ready to roll as soon as it commits to the attack.

Use Explosives

If you scan the Morgue Dweller, you’ll discover that explosives are effective against it.

Because of that, grenades are a useful way to increase your damage.

There is also an attack where the boss opens its mouth during a roar.

You can try throwing a grenade toward its mouth during this animation, although hitting the mouth isn’t always easy.

Even if you don’t land the grenade perfectly, keeping explosives available gives you another way to deal damage.

What Happens at Half Health?

The fight becomes more dangerous once the Morgue Dweller reaches around half health.

At this point, it starts spawning smaller enemies.

These smaller creatures should become your priority.

Don’t ignore them and focus entirely on the boss.

They can grab you and become a major problem if you allow several of them to remain alive while the Morgue Dweller continues attacking.

Whenever the smaller enemies appear, quickly take them out and then return your attention to the boss.

Watch for the Charge Attack

The Morgue Dweller also gains a charge attack that you need to learn to recognize.

Before charging, the boss will rear back.

That movement is your warning.

When you see the Morgue Dweller pull itself back like this, be ready to dodge because a charge is coming.

Don’t wait until the boss is already moving toward you.

Rolling too late can easily get you hit.

Keep Moving During the Fight

The basic rhythm of the fight is fairly simple once you understand the attacks:

  • Stay toward the sides of the arena.
  • Keep firing at the Morgue Dweller.
  • Dodge the slam attacks.
  • Stay away from the vomit.
  • Watch for the rear-back animation before charges.
  • Kill the smaller enemies immediately when they spawn.
  • Use grenades for additional damage.
  • Don’t get greedy when the boss is nearly dead.

The biggest mistake you can make is getting too focused on dealing damage and forgetting to watch the boss.

There will be plenty of opportunities to attack, so there is no need to stand in danger just to get a few extra shots in.

Keep Using Your Primary Weapon

Once you’ve learned the attack patterns, the fight becomes somewhat repetitive.

Stay on the sides, keep your distance, and continue using your primary weapon whenever the boss gives you an opening.

When the Morgue Dweller jumps or attacks, stop firing for a moment and concentrate on dodging.

After the attack finishes, return to the side and start dealing damage again.

If the smaller enemies spawn, switch your attention to them immediately.

Then go back to the boss.

Defeat the Morgue Dweller

Continue repeating this strategy until the Morgue Dweller’s health is completely depleted.

As tempting as it can be to rush the final few shots, try not to get greedy.

The boss can still hit you with its charge or slam attacks even when it is almost dead.

Keep playing safely until the final hit lands.

Once the Morgue Dweller is defeated, you will have cleared this optional boss and can continue exploring the area.

The Morgue Dweller can look intimidating when you first enter the arena, but the fight becomes much easier once you understand where to stand and which attacks to watch for.

My biggest recommendation is to stay toward the sides of the arena and avoid getting trapped in the middle. Keep moving, dodge the slams and charges, and don’t stand in the path of the vomit attack.

Once the boss reaches around half health, immediately deal with the smaller enemies it spawns. They can quickly turn a manageable fight into chaos if you let them build up.

Take your time, use explosives when you can, keep your distance, and don’t get greedy when the Morgue Dweller is nearly finished. With that approach, you should be able to take it down and unlock the Dweller Dislikes Smoke trophy without too much trouble.
