Denarii is the main currency in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and you will need it to purchase useful items and equipment from traders around Vale Sangora. The easiest way to build up your money is by selling items you collect while exploring.
Your inventory can fill up quickly, especially during the early game when you’re constantly looting camps and searching new areas. Instead of letting unwanted items sit in your inventory, you can turn them into Denarii by selling them to traders.
There are also better ways to make money as you progress. In particular, Silver can be worth collecting and selling in Svartrau, although there are a few important things you need to know before doing so.
Best Ways to Farm Money in The Blood of Dawnwalker
Sell Unwanted Items
One of the simplest ways to earn Denarii early on is to sell items you don’t need.
Your inventory can fill up surprisingly quickly when you spend a lot of time looting and exploring. Once you have items that aren’t useful for your current playthrough, take them to a trader and sell them.
I recommend checking your inventory regularly rather than carrying around piles of items you aren’t going to use. This gives you extra Denarii while also freeing up space for more useful loot.
Don’t automatically sell everything, though. If an item has a purpose you may need later, it is better to keep it rather than selling it just for some quick money.
Farm Denarii by Exploring Before the Main Story
Avoid Triggering the Main Story
Once you gain access to traders after the Prologue, you can start selling your unwanted items for Denarii.
There is also a useful opportunity to explore freely before triggering certain parts of the Main Story in Vale Sangora. As long as you don’t activate the relevant story progression, you can spend your time roaming around the map, collecting loot, and searching for valuable items.
This gives you a chance to build up a decent amount of money before pushing further into the story.
The basic method is simple:
- Explore Vale Sangora.
- Loot items from the world and enemy areas.
- Keep the valuable items you find.
- Sell items you don’t need to traders.
- Use the Denarii to purchase equipment and other useful items.
If you’re still early in the game, taking some time to explore before advancing the Main Story can give you a nice financial head start.
Denarii Farming in the Mid Game
Sell Silver in Svartrau
As you progress further, Silver becomes one of the more valuable items you can collect for making Denarii.
Silver sells for a decent amount of money, so don’t rush to get rid of it without considering its value. When you have a good amount saved up, you can take it to the appropriate trader in Svartrau and sell it.
There is one important requirement: you need to be at least Notorious in your Infamy Level to do business with the trader who accepts Silver.
The Silver Trader Can Be Killed
You also need to be careful with the Silver trader in Svartrau.
There is only one trader in the city who accepts Silver, and that NPC can potentially be killed depending on your actions.
If the trader dies, there will be no other trader available to exchange Silver for Denarii during that playthrough.
Because of this, I would avoid making decisions that could accidentally remove the Silver trader before you’ve earned the money you need from him.
Silver Is Also Needed for the Smuggler Trophy
Selling Silver isn’t just a good way to make money. It is also tied to the Smuggler trophy.
Smuggler Trophy
| Trophy | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Smuggler | Earn 1,000 Denarii by selling Silver |
To unlock the Smuggler trophy, you need to earn a total of 1,000 Denarii from selling Silver.
Since the Silver trader is the only NPC who can buy your Silver, make sure you have access to him and keep the trader alive if you want to complete this trophy during your current playthrough.
Make Money by Looting While You Explore
The easiest money-making habit throughout the game is to simply loot as you travel.
Enemy camps, exploration areas, and other locations can fill your inventory with items that can eventually be converted into Denarii. Rather than making a separate trip solely to farm money, you can collect valuable items while completing quests and exploring Vale Sangora.
For the early game, selling unwanted loot is the most straightforward approach. Once you reach the mid game and have access to the Silver trader in Svartrau, Silver becomes another valuable source of Denarii.
Just remember that money is only useful if you actually spend it on things that help your current build, so keep an eye on your inventory and sell items that you genuinely don’t need.
