Missable Achievements
Beginnings Are Such Delicate Times
How to Unlock:
At the start of the game, speak with Bart. Don’t skip or interrupt — listen to all his instructions about your duties and the Determination Bringer. If you cut the conversation short, this achievement won’t unlock.
The Ticket That Exploded
How to Unlock:
Make a mistake while checking a passenger’s ticket. Any incorrect validation (e.g. expired ticket, wrong compartment, etc.) will trigger the achievement.
Caught in 4K
How to Unlock:
Peek through the restroom door. It’s not required at any point, so it’s easy to miss. Just do it once during any playthrough to get this one.
Machineries of Joy
How to Unlock:
Later in the game, Nathan (the black market guy) will sell cat items. Buy a litter box, toy, and bowls. Once you own all three, you’ll unlock the achievement.
Strangelove
How to Unlock:
Check the female scientist’s ticket, and she’ll request vodka. Bring it to her to unlock extra dialogue about her work. Choose “Yes” when she asks if you know the basics about her field — this leads her to talk about nuclear bombs.
Saying “No” ends the conversation permanently, so be careful!
At Your Service
How to Unlock:
Help Michelle fully enjoy her journey by:
- Returning both halves of the bonds
- Returning her family heirloom
- Gathering Franz, Peter, Gnevko, and Michelle for the poker game
King, Queen, Knave
How to Unlock:
Get three poker players and host a game. The ideal crew: Franz, Peter, Michelle, and Gnevko.
Ummagumma
How to Unlock:
If you do everything right for Michelle (see “At Your Service”), she’ll meet you in your office after your promotion. Express interest, and she’ll spend the night with you.
Don’t ask her to deal with the rowdy youths — this locks you out.
Uncut Gems
How to Unlock:
After Michelle notices her heirloom is missing, find it in your inventory or confiscated items and give it back to her.
Discard
How to Unlock:
If Gnevko, not Michelle, has the heirloom during the poker game, he’ll lose it and murder Michelle out of rage.
Choice-Related Achievements
Stowaway / Stray / Let It Go
Stowaway – Adopt the cat
Stray – Refuse to adopt the cat
Let It Go – Give the cat to Peter (must be alive and stable with antidepressants)
Choose Life
How to Unlock:
Buy the expensive $600 antidepressants for Peter when he requests medication. This saves him from suicide.
Real Darkness Has Love for a Face / The First Death is in the Heart / Love Will Tear Us Apart
These achievements all revolve around the Louise & Manisheks subplot:
- Choose gun as payment → you can shoot Louise yourself
- Choose anything else → she may shoot you if you stop their escape
- Let them escape when you could stop them → unlocks Love Will Tear Us Apart
Armistice / Fratricide
Armistice – Reconcile the Pribula brothers
Fratricide – Lie to Pierre that his brother hates him, causing murder
N6655321 / 387.44M / Radio Free Albemuth
These involve the rowdy passengers:
- N6655321 – Get them arrested by planting evidence
- 387.44M – Ask Michelle to party with them (locks out “Ummagumma”)
Radio Free Albemuth – Supply them drugs, let them die, and blame Peter
Tweedledee / Tweedledum
Tweedledee – Side with the politician, get Henry Colt arrested
Tweedledum – Side with the industrialist, get Werner Berzins arrested
Fill out reports three times for either target
The Border is Just Another Line to Cross / The Part Where He Kills You
Border… – Smuggle Franz’s package across the border and return it
He Kills You – Report the package → Franz pays Gnevko to kill you
Minority Report
How to Unlock:
Peter warns you to ditch any weapon before inspection. If you keep it and Henry Colt dies, you’ll be framed and arrested.
Revenge is a Dish Best Eaten
How to Unlock:
Poison the rich lady’s food instead of wine (you can also give her the cat for extra dialogue).
Sunrise, Parabellum
How to Unlock:
If you kept the gun from the assassination scene, you can replace the one Bart is carrying with it later on.
Endings
Half Measures
You’ll unlock this ending simply by completing the game on Intern or Normal difficulty—no special decisions are needed.
Full Measure
To get this one, you need to beat the game on Government Elite difficulty, which is the hardest mode with stricter rules and less room for error.
Que Será, Será
This is the best or “true” ending, and you’ll need to do everything right: swap the gun with Bart so the Ambassador isn’t assassinated, disarm the bomb by turning the key to the right, never sleep with Michelle, survive the final scene, keep the cat alive, and reunite with your family.
Big Iron
To trigger this ending, drag the bomb out slowly to the left during the final scene—Sargaz will confront you, and if you kept the gun, you’ll enter a duel and die.
Chikhai Bardo
For this one, you must let the bomb explode, but drag it all the way left toward the cells first; you’ll die, but everyone else survives.
Mars Aeternum
This is the worst ending, where you fail to stop the assassination or disarm the bomb, resulting in both the provocation and the explosion.
Challenge Achievements
You’re a Good Man, Winston Smith
To earn this achievement, you must complete the entire game without stealing a single item from anyone at any time.
Snitches Get Stitches
This requires you to avoid reporting or blackmailing anyone throughout the game—even if missions encourage you to.
A Handshake is Available Upon Request
You’ll unlock this if you never receive a single fine, which means you must not search luggage illegally, miss any train departures, leave rooms unfurnished, mess up ticket validation, or file incorrect reports.
