Anime Squadron Beginner Guide – Trello, Wiki, Gems Tips

When I first jumped into Anime Squadron, I made pretty much every beginner mistake possible. I was manually running across the lobby, wasting resources on the wrong upgrades, and trying to clear difficult stages way before my team was ready. If you’re just starting out, or even if you’ve been playing for a few days and feel stuck, this guide should save you a lot of time.

Instead of throwing random tips at you, I’ll walk through the progression path that actually makes sense, explain how to unlock the important secret units, and show you the best ways to farm gold, gems, traits, and other resources without wasting hours.

Anime Squadron Beginner Guide – Trello, Wiki, Gems Tips

One thing Anime Squadron does well is giving players a clear progression path. The problem is that many players skip steps and end up hitting a wall.

Here’s the order I recommend following:

Complete Every Story Stage

Your first goal should be clearing all available Story stages.

Don’t just complete Normal mode and move on.

Clear:

  • Normal Mode
  • Hard Mode

Both difficulties provide first-clear rewards, which are some of the easiest free resources you’ll ever earn.

These rewards help build your initial roster much faster than endlessly grinding one map.

Finish Squadron Stages Next

After Story Mode, start working through Squadron stages.

Again, complete both Normal and Hard difficulties whenever possible.

The rewards stack up quickly and prepare your account for the harder content waiting ahead.

Begin Farming Your First Secret Unit

Once Story and Squadron content is mostly cleared, head over to Ninja Village.

Your target here is:

  • Madara (Secret Unit)

This should become one of your first major goals because it’s one of the strongest units available early in progression.

Complete Daily Challenges

Daily Challenges are easy to overlook, but they provide some of the best rewards in the game.

A single completion can give valuable resources including:

  • Gems
  • Star Cubes
  • Silver Arrows
  • Gold
  • Other upgrade materials

Make these part of your daily routine.

Start Running Raids

After you’ve established a decent roster, move into Raids.

The Forest Raid is especially important because it rewards another Secret Unit while also providing materials needed for future upgrades.

If you’re farming raid gear and secret units, you’ll spend a lot of time here.

Save Infinite Mode for Last

Many players jump into Infinite Mode immediately.

That’s actually a mistake.

Infinite Mode rewards scale with how far you can push waves, meaning stronger teams earn significantly more rewards.

Build your roster first, then use Infinite Mode as your end-of-day farming activity.

The special Gacha Bags earned from Infinite Mode can contain:

  • True Rolls
  • Gold
  • Star Cubes
  • Various upgrade resources

The stronger your team is, the better your rewards become.

The Biggest Early Game Mistake

Before attempting Secret stages or difficult Raids, make sure you have at least:

  • Two evolved Mythic units

This requirement is far more important than most players realize.

The Forest Secret stage contains enemies with massive HP pools, while Raid stages introduce multiple lanes that can quickly overwhelm weaker teams.

Without evolved Mythics, progression becomes frustrating instead of enjoyable.

Trust me, getting those Mythics evolved first will save you hours of failed runs.

Useful Features Many Players Miss

Fast Travel Exists

I somehow missed this when I started.

You can click the game icons to instantly teleport around the map.

No need to manually run everywhere.

It’s a tiny feature, but it makes navigating the game much smoother.

Upgrade Maximum Yen Early

One of the smartest early upgrades is increasing your Maximum Yen.

Why?

Because Mythic units cost a lot to deploy.

If your maximum Yen cap is too low, you literally won’t be able to place them when a match starts.

Always prioritize Maximum Yen upgrades over unnecessary stats.

Ignore Health Upgrades

At least for now.

Your goal is to stop enemies before they ever reach your base.

If your units are strong enough, base HP barely matters.

Resources spent on damage-related upgrades provide much better value.

Understanding Gears

Gears are equipment items that provide additional stats and bonuses.

To equip them:

  1. Open Units
  2. Select a Unit
  3. Open Details
  4. Equip Gear

Don’t stress too much about gear optimization early on.

Right now, simply obtaining decent gear is the challenge.

If you find a useful gear piece, equip it and move on.

You can worry about perfect builds much later.

Important Trait Rolling Tip

This is something many players learn the hard way.

Before evolving a unit:

  • Use your trait rolls first

Currently, evolving can affect pity progress and other trait-related systems.

Until the developers fully adjust the system, it’s safer to roll traits before evolving important units.

Every Secret Unit and How to Get Them

At the time of writing, there are two major Secret Units worth targeting.

Madara

Location:

  • Ninja Village Chapter 4

Madara is one of the most important progression units and should be farmed as early as possible once your account is strong enough.

Ultimate Evil

Location:

  • Raid Stages

This Secret Unit comes from Raid content and serves as another major endgame target.

Expect a lengthy grind, but the power increase is absolutely worth it.

Best Ways to Farm Gems

If you’re constantly running out of Gems, focus on these sources.

Complete All Quests

This includes:

  • Daily Quests
  • Weekly Quests
  • Event Quests
  • Special Missions

These are some of the highest-value activities in the game.

Finish Beginner Missions

Many players forget about Beginner Missions after unlocking them.

Don’t.

Both Beginner Mission pages offer substantial rewards and are surprisingly easy to complete.

Claim Battle Pass Rewards

Even free Battle Pass rewards add up quickly.

Always claim them whenever available.

Daily Login Rewards

Never skip these.

The rewards might look small individually, but over time they become one of the most reliable sources of free resources.

Best Ways to Farm Gold Fast

Gold becomes one of the biggest bottlenecks later in progression.

Summoning Is Surprisingly Good

A lot of players focus exclusively on stages.

Meanwhile, summoning can generate a significant amount of Gold.

Auto-sell:

  • Rare units
  • Epic units
  • Duplicate Legendaries

This creates a steady stream of income.

Claim Discovery Rewards

Open the Discovery section near the summon area.

Every newly obtained unit contributes toward additional Gold rewards.

It’s basically free currency for expanding your collection.

Farm GT City Squadron Stage

If your goal is pure Gold efficiency, GT City is usually the best option.

Why?

Because it’s shorter than many alternative maps.

You earn the same rewards in less time.

That means better Gold per minute.

Best Ways to Get True Rolls and Star Cubes

The most consistent methods include:

Infinite Mode Gacha Bags

These remain one of the best repeatable sources.

The farther you progress, the better your rewards become.

Daily Challenges

Daily Challenges frequently award:

  • Star Cubes
  • Perfect Cubes
  • Silver Arrows
  • Gems

Never skip them.

Repeatable Challenge Stages

Certain challenge maps can be replayed for additional materials.

When you’re targeting a specific resource, these become incredibly valuable.

Understanding Unit Roles

Anime Squadron includes several different unit roles.

Damage Dealers

Your primary source of DPS.

Most of your team will usually consist of these.

Farms

Generate additional income during battles.

Essential for longer runs.

Tanks

Absorb damage and help control enemy movement.

Buffers

Increase the effectiveness of other units.

Debuffers

Reduce enemy defenses or apply negative effects.

Healers

Restore health and support team survival.

Currently, pure DPS teams dominate most content, but these roles will likely become more important as future updates arrive.

Best Units for Early and Mid Game

Kakashi

If you pull Kakashi early, keep him.

He’s one of the fastest units available and helps clear content much quicker.

Fast clears mean:

  • Faster farming
  • Faster progression
  • More rewards

Sung-Woo

One of the strongest overall units in the game.

His summon mechanics provide incredible value, and his speed makes him useful throughout progression.

Gometa

If Sung-Woo refuses to appear, Gometa is an excellent alternative.

Many players end up building around him during mid-game progression.

Recommended Endgame Team

A balanced late-game setup looks something like:

  • Sung-Woo or Gometa
  • Madara
  • Raid Secret Unit
  • Fast Wagon
  • Support Unit of Choice

For the final slot, you can choose:

  • Shanks for debuffs
  • Naruto for buffs
  • Additional DPS
  • Utility support

Personally, I still like running fast units whenever possible because speed remains incredibly powerful in the current version of the game.

Anime Squadron’s progression can feel overwhelming during the first few hours, especially when you’re bombarded with Story stages, Raids, Infinite Mode, Gears, Traits, and Secret Units all at once.

The simplest approach is to focus on progression one step at a time. Clear Story, finish Squadron stages, obtain evolved Mythics, farm Madara, start Raids, and only then move heavily into Infinite Mode farming.

Most players who get stuck are usually trying to rush Secret content before their account is ready. If you follow the progression route outlined above, you’ll build a strong roster naturally while collecting plenty of Gems, Gold, Star Cubes, and Trait resources along the way.

And honestly, if there’s one thing I’d prioritize above everything else, it’s getting strong fast-clearing units early. The faster you clear content, the faster every other grind in Anime Squadron becomes. That’s what made the biggest difference for me, and it’s still the advice I’d give any new player starting today.
