Finding every collectible note in You Are Empty: Absolute Edition takes you through creepy medical wards, rustic Soviet villages, and industrial complexes. This walkthrough breaks down where to find every single document so you do not have to replay chapters searching blind.
You will track down hidden lore items across the Hospital, Kolhoz, and Factory stages, which are easy to walk past when enemies are chasing you. Make sure you grab them as you clear each area because some doors lock behind you permanently.
Before you dive in, keep in mind that a few notes sit right next to key story items like the wrench or car keys, so always check nearby tables before grabbing quest objectives.
This guide covers the locations of all notes in You Are Empty: Absolute Edition. I included the steps to find each note across the different levels, including the Hospital, Kolhoz, and Factory.
Some notes are easy to miss while progressing through the story, so I explain where to look and how to reach each one. I also include screenshots to make it easier to find them.

Flip the switch to trigger the firefighter running out of the nearby building, then step inside. Climb up to the second floor, take the left corridor, and check the office table for the second note.

Ride the elevator down into the building where car keys are stored. Look on the table right next to the car keys to spot the third note.

Exit the barn and push forward until an old man with a shotgun charges out of a small Soviet flag building. Put him down, head inside his house, and collect the fourth note from the table.

Navigate through the sewers after dealing with the shotgun-wielding old man and ride the elevator upward. Step out at the top and check the ground immediately to the left of the exit.

| Location | Factory Hopper Room and Basement |
Sixth Note
Leap out of the hopper car and inspect the small room sitting directly to its right. You will find the sixth note resting inside.
Seventh Note
Trek past the conveyor belt and the river of molten metal into the basement tunnels. Climb back up to the upper level and grab the seventh note from the shelf on your right.
Factory 2
Eighth Note
Ride the escalator downward, slip past three monsters, and push open the door to the maintenance room. The final note is resting squarely on top of a box.
Pro tip: Always sweep the corners of every office and side room before interacting with main objectives, as notes often blend into dark background textures.
