S Tier Characters
These heroes are among the strongest in the game. They scale extremely well into late-game content and perform consistently across nearly every mode.
Dragonian
Dragonian is widely considered one of the strongest characters thanks to exceptional scaling, powerful exclusive mechanics, and excellent survivability. Once fully upgraded, Dragonian can comfortably clear difficult Challenge stages and Infinite Mode.
Best for:
- Challenge Mode
- Infinite Mode
- Endgame progression
Vampire
Vampire combines high damage with excellent self-sustain. The ability to recover health while dealing damage makes long runs significantly safer.
Strengths
- Strong survivability
- Excellent boss damage
- Reliable healing
Soul Eater
Soul Eater excels at snowballing throughout a run. The longer the run continues, the stronger the character becomes, making them especially effective in Endless and Infinite modes.
Inquisitor
One of the strongest late-game heroes.
Inquisitor benefits heavily from optimized builds and mastery progression, offering tremendous damage once fully developed.
High Roller
High Roller is built around risk-versus-reward mechanics. Skilled players who understand resource management can produce some of the highest damage output in the game.
A Tier Characters
These characters are excellent choices and can clear nearly all content with proper builds.
Doppelganger
Offers flexible gameplay thanks to unique ability interactions.
Very strong once players understand how to maximize duplicated skills.
Bjorn Yandel
Excellent all-around character with consistent performance throughout every stage of progression.
Predator
Predator specializes in aggressive melee combat and performs exceptionally well against bosses.
Assassin
Assassin focuses on mobility and burst damage.
Perfect for experienced players who enjoy fast-paced gameplay.
Werewolf
Werewolf features unique health mechanics and extremely high offensive potential.
Although slightly harder to master, experienced players can achieve outstanding results.
Ronin
Ronin rewards precise positioning and timing.
Strong damage combined with high mobility makes Ronin a favorite among skilled players.
B Tier Characters
Solid characters capable of completing all content but generally requiring stronger builds than higher-tier heroes.
Guardian
Guardian offers exceptional defensive tools.
Ideal for players who value survivability over raw damage.
Shaman
Strong support-style abilities combined with useful utility effects.
Can become very powerful with the right artifact combinations.
Hunter
Reliable ranged damage dealer.
Great for players who prefer keeping distance from enemies.
Mercenary
Balanced offensive character with consistent performance across most game modes.
Summoner
Summoner relies heavily on summoned allies.
Can clear content comfortably but often depends on specific artifacts for maximum effectiveness.
Mage
Mage specializes in powerful spell damage.
Very satisfying once fully built but can feel weaker during the early game.
C Tier Characters
These characters remain perfectly playable but are generally overshadowed by stronger options.
Slayer
Capable of dealing respectable damage but lacks the versatility of higher-ranked heroes.
Gunner
A beginner-friendly ranged character that performs well early but scales less effectively into endgame.
Fighter
Simple melee playstyle that’s easy to learn but doesn’t offer many unique advantages compared to later unlocks.
Knight
Despite being the starter character, Knight remains one of the best heroes for learning the game.
Excellent survivability makes Knight ideal for beginners, but lower overall damage causes the character to fall behind stronger endgame heroes.
That said, Knight is still highly recommended for your first several hours of progression.
Best Character for Beginners
If you’re new to Dungeon Slasher, these are the easiest heroes to learn:
- Knight
- Guardian
- Hunter
- Gunner
- Mercenary
These characters provide forgiving gameplay while helping you learn boss patterns, artifact synergies, and dungeon mechanics.
Best Character for Endgame
If your goal is clearing high Challenge levels or Infinite Mode, prioritize unlocking:
- Dragonian
- Vampire
- Soul Eater
- Inquisitor
- High Roller
These heroes have some of the highest late-game potential when combined with strong artifacts and Character Mastery.
Dungeon Slasher does an excellent job of making every character feel unique. While some heroes clearly outperform others in endgame content, nearly every character is capable of clearing the game’s main progression with the right build and player skill.
For new players, focus on mastering Knight or another beginner-friendly hero before branching out into more complex characters like Dragonian, Soul Eater, or High Roller. Once you understand artifact synergies, tag combinations, and character mastery, you’ll be able to get the most out of whichever hero fits your preferred playstyle.
