If you’re wondering which bomb deserves your hard-earned cash first, this tier list ranks every bomb based on its overall value, crystal rewards, progression speed, and long-term usefulness. I’ve also included my thoughts on why each bomb lands where it does, because raw rankings don’t tell the whole story.

S Tier
Agony Bomb
The Agony Bomb is easily the strongest bomb currently available in Mine a Mountain.
It completely changes the quality of your farming by dropping only Legendary and Mythic crystals. Every explosion feels rewarding because you’re collecting some of the highest-value crystals instead of hoping for lucky drops.
The $600 million price tag is enormous, but once you reach the late game, it’s absolutely worth saving for.
Time Bomb
If the Agony Bomb is your final destination, the Time Bomb is the bridge that gets you there.
It creates one of the richest crystal pools in the game while covering a large area with every explosion. Even though it costs $175 million, you’ll usually notice your profits increasing much faster after unlocking it.
Many players end up using the Time Bomb for quite a while before finally upgrading to Agony.
A Tier
Thunder Bomb
If I had to recommend one bomb to prioritize during progression, it would probably be the Thunder Bomb.
Thunder Crystals sell for double their normal value, making every explosion noticeably more profitable than earlier bombs. Considering its $15 million price, it offers one of the best value-to-cost ratios in the entire game.
It’s the kind of upgrade that immediately feels worth buying.
Poison Bomb
The Poison Bomb isn’t all about instant profits.
Instead, it introduces Poison Crystals that increase in value over time while also infecting nearby crystals with the same effect. If you don’t mind waiting a little before selling your loot, the rewards can become surprisingly impressive.
It requires more patience than Thunder Bomb, but it’s still an excellent mid-to-late game option.
B Tier
Fire Bomb
The Fire Bomb offers a nice upgrade over the Ice Bomb by producing Fireborn Crystals.
It doesn’t introduce game-changing mechanics, but it provides reliable income while helping you progress toward the more powerful bomb tiers.
You’ll probably use it for a decent amount of time before replacing it.
Ice Bomb
The Ice Bomb is where special crystal farming really begins.
Guaranteed Frost Crystals make farming much more consistent than the earlier bombs, making it a worthwhile purchase once you’ve earned a couple million dollars.
It isn’t spectacular, but it definitely helps smooth out progression.
C Tier
Wind Bomb
The Wind Bomb is fun, but it isn’t something you’ll rely on for very long.
Its wind blast throws crystals, debris, and even players around the map. While the effect is entertaining, it doesn’t improve your income nearly as much as the elemental bombs that come afterward.
Most players replace it fairly quickly.
D Tier
Classic Bomb
Every player starts somewhere, and the Classic Bomb is that starting point.
It creates a basic explosion that clears part of the mountain while dropping regular crystals. For only $50,000, it’s affordable and gets the job done during the opening stages of the game.
Once you unlock almost any other bomb, though, there’s little reason to keep using it.
The Agony Bomb earns the top spot thanks to its unmatched Legendary and Mythic crystal drops, making it the best bomb in Mine a Mountain once you reach the endgame.
If you’re still climbing the progression ladder, don’t overlook the Thunder Bomb. It provides one of the biggest upgrades relative to its cost and can dramatically speed up your journey toward the Time Bomb and eventually the Agony Bomb.
