Keeping your supermarket organized in Supermarket Chaos becomes much easier once you understand how the game’s shelving system works. While you can place products anywhere within their assigned department, many players prefer arranging identical items side by side to create a cleaner-looking store that’s also easier to restock.
This guide explains everything you need to know before you start organizing, including how shelf tags work, the sticker system, every available skill, and other useful tips that make running your store much smoother. If you’re looking for the complete shelf layout for every product, you’ll also find links to the full item lists by section.
Supermarket Chaos Shelf Tags, Stickers & Skills Guide
Every shelf belongs to a specific department, such as Bathroom, Frozen Foods, Electronics, or Fresh Bread. You’ll see the department name displayed above each shelving area.
Products are flexible within their assigned department, meaning you don’t have to use a specific shelf for a specific item. For example, every shampoo can be placed anywhere inside the Bathroom section.
That said, if you like your store looking neat and organized, it’s worth dedicating shelves to individual products instead of mixing everything together. It makes finding items much faster later on, especially after unlocking dozens of new products.
Shelf Tags
Every time you place a product onto a shelf, a colored tag appears. These tags quickly tell you whether you’re using the correct location.
White Tag
A white tag means you’re stocking the correct shelf, but it isn’t completely filled yet.
Yellow Tag
Yellow indicates the shelf is correctly stocked and completely full.
Red Tag
A red tag appears when you’re trying to place an item in the wrong department.
For example, trying to stock sliced ham inside the Home Decor section will either display a red tag or cause the product to fall back onto the floor instead of being placed.
Sticker System Explained
As you organize your store, you’ll earn one Star for every shelf you complete. Stars are the currency used to purchase sticker rewards from the ATM machines.
You’ll find the three sticker ATMs near the Fruits & Vegetables department.
You can also check your sticker collection at any time by:
- Press ESC.
- Open the orange Star tab.
Tough Guy ATM (Green)
- Cost: 4 Stars
- Sticker Chance: 10%
- Failure Chance: 90%
Regular ATM (Red)
- Cost: 20 Stars
- Sticker Chance: 51%
- Failure Chance: 49%
Faaancy ATM (Blue)
- Cost: 40 Stars
- Sticker Chance: 95%
- Failure Chance: 5%
Although the blue machine costs the most, it’s by far the most reliable option if you’re trying to collect every sticker.

If you’re just getting started, I’d prioritize these upgrades first:
- Extra Carry – Fewer trips means faster stocking.
- Sprint – Makes moving around the supermarket much quicker.
- Shelf Finder – Extremely helpful once the store starts filling with different departments.
- Long Reach – Saves time when stocking crowded shelves.
- Request More – Great during larger restocking sessions.
These upgrades have the biggest impact during the early and mid-game and make organizing your supermarket far less tedious.
