Starting a new character in Demon Born isn’t just about picking whether you want to become a Demon Slayer or a Demon. That decision also locks you into two completely different combat systems. Demon Slayers learn Breathing Styles, while Demons rely on Blood Demon Arts (BDAs), and each ability plays very differently once you get into tougher content.
Since spins can be limited, it’s better to know which abilities are actually worth keeping before you burn through your rerolls. After spending time comparing damage, range, mobility, PvE efficiency, and PvP performance, here’s how the current meta looks.
Demon Born Blood Demon Arts Tier List – Breathing Styles
| Tier | Breathing Styles & Blood Demon Arts |
|---|---|
| S | Thunder Breathing, String BDA |
| A | Insect Breathing, Water Breathing, Ice BDA |
| B | Swamp BDA, Temari BDA |
| C | Drum BDA |
| D | Arrow BDA |
S Tier
These are the abilities that consistently outperform the rest of the roster. Whether you’re farming NPCs, clearing bosses, or jumping into PvP, they’re the safest long-term investments.
Thunder Breathing
Thunder Breathing currently sets the standard for Demon Slayer builds.
It has six forms available, including two cinematic attacks that hit extremely hard. Most of the moves let you close distance almost instantly, making it difficult for opponents to escape once you begin a combo.
Another advantage is how complete the kit feels. Instead of focusing on only melee combat, Thunder Breathing also includes a ranged projectile, giving you an answer for enemies that refuse to fight up close.
Strengths
- Excellent burst damage
- Fast movement skills
- Strong combo routes
- Good attack range
- Six available forms
If you’re lucky enough to roll Thunder, there’s very little reason to reroll.
String Blood Demon Art
Among all current Blood Demon Arts, String remains the strongest overall choice.
It performs well in nearly every situation and doesn’t suffer from any major weaknesses. Whether you’re fighting bosses or challenging other players, String consistently delivers reliable damage and strong utility.
For Demon players chasing the current meta, this is the Blood Demon Art to aim for.
A Tier
These abilities aren’t far behind the top tier. They’re more than capable of carrying you through the entire game.
Insect Breathing
Insect Breathing doesn’t have the largest moveset, but it certainly doesn’t struggle with damage.
Its four techniques hit surprisingly hard, making it especially dangerous during PvP where quick bursts often decide fights.
Instead of overwhelming opponents with long combos, Insect Breathing focuses on making every attack count.
Water Breathing
Water Breathing continues to be one of the most comfortable breathing styles for new players.
The animations are smooth, the attacks activate quickly, and the style includes six different forms to work with.
Although its overall damage trails behind Thunder Breathing, Water performs exceptionally well during story progression, Final Selection, and general PvE grinding.
Ice Blood Demon Art
Ice BDA sits comfortably in A Tier thanks to its balanced performance.
While it doesn’t quite match String BDA in overall effectiveness, it remains one of the better Demon Arts currently available and is worth holding onto if you roll it.
B Tier
These options are perfectly usable, although they begin to show their limitations once you reach harder content.
Swamp Blood Demon Art
Swamp BDA performs well enough for regular progression and casual gameplay.
It doesn’t compete with the higher-ranked Demon Arts, but it’s still a respectable option if you haven’t unlocked something stronger yet.
Temari Blood Demon Art
Temari BDA offers decent damage and utility but doesn’t stand out in the current meta.
It remains viable, especially for players who enjoy its playstyle, but it isn’t considered one of the strongest picks available.
C Tier
Drum Blood Demon Art
Drum BDA falls into the lower half of the rankings.
While it can still complete content, it generally requires more effort to achieve the same results as stronger Blood Demon Arts.
Most players will eventually replace it after earning additional rerolls.
D Tier
Arrow Blood Demon Art
Arrow BDA currently occupies the bottom spot.
Its overall performance simply doesn’t keep pace with the rest of the available Demon Arts.
If you receive Arrow early on and have reroll opportunities, upgrading to another Blood Demon Art is usually the better decision.
At the moment, Thunder Breathing continues to lead the Demon Slayer side thanks to its outstanding mobility, heavy damage, and versatile moveset. On the Demon side, String BDA remains the ability to chase if you’re aiming for the strongest overall build.
That said, updates arrive regularly, and Demon Born’s balance is still evolving. If new Breathing Styles or Blood Demon Arts are introduced, expect this tier list to shift as the meta develops.
