If you’ve started building your roster in Duck Survival, you’ve probably noticed that not all heroes are created equal. Some heroes can completely change how a run feels, carrying you through difficult chapters and boss fights, while others struggle to justify a permanent spot in your lineup.
One thing I’ve learned after spending time with the game is that rarity alone doesn’t tell the whole story. While Legendary and Myth heroes generally dominate the rankings, some Epic heroes can still perform surprisingly well when paired with the right skills and team compositions.
This tier list ranks every hero currently available in Duck Survival based on overall usefulness, progression value, damage output, survivability, and team synergy.
Keep in mind that future balance updates may shift some rankings, but as of June 2026, these heroes stand out as the strongest options for most players.

S Tier Heroes
These heroes are the best investments in the game right now. If you pull one of them, they’re worth building around immediately.
Rocket – Cole
Rarity: Myth
Element: Burning
Rocket Cole sits alone as the only Myth-rarity hero currently available, and his placement at the top of the rankings isn’t surprising.
He offers exceptional scaling, powerful Burning-element synergy, and some of the highest overall combat effectiveness in the game. Whether you’re clearing campaign stages, pushing difficult content, or dealing with bosses, Rocket Cole consistently delivers results.
Unlike many heroes that specialize in one role, Cole remains effective in virtually every mode.
Best For
- Endgame progression
- Burning teams
- Boss encounters
- General PvE
Frost Commander – Mir
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Frost
Mir excels at controlling the battlefield while still dealing respectable damage.
Frost-based builds become significantly stronger once Frost Commander joins the lineup. Slows, freezing effects, and crowd control can dramatically reduce pressure during difficult stages.
Players struggling with large enemy waves often notice immediate improvements after adding Mir to their squad.
Best For
- Crowd control
- Campaign progression
- Frost team compositions
Raging Thunder – Bell
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Lightning
Bell has become one of the most talked-about heroes in Duck Survival for good reason.
His Lightning-based kit offers excellent damage while also bringing survivability and utility. He performs well in both offensive and defensive situations, making him one of the safest investments for long-term progression.
Many experienced players consider Bell one of the most reliable heroes in the entire roster because he rarely feels weak regardless of game mode.
Best For
- Lightning builds
- Chapter progression
- Mixed PvE content
Justice Barrier – Eric
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Physical
Eric combines durability with strong frontline presence.
Physical-focused teams benefit greatly from his ability to withstand pressure while contributing meaningful damage. Unlike pure tank heroes that only absorb hits, Eric remains useful throughout the entire battle.
His consistency is what earns him an S Tier placement.
Best For
- Physical teams
- Survivability
- Difficult encounters
A Tier Heroes
These heroes are extremely powerful and can carry accounts, but they’re just a step below the elite options.
Flame Witch – Emily
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Burning
Emily is one of the strongest Burning heroes available.
She synergizes exceptionally well with fire-based skills and provides consistent damage throughout every stage. Players building a Burning-focused lineup will often prioritize her immediately after obtaining Rocket Cole.
Strengths
- High damage output
- Excellent Burning synergy
- Strong scaling
Magma Hammer – Lava
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Burning
Lava specializes in heavy area damage and aggressive offense.
His attacks can quickly clear groups of enemies, making him especially useful during wave-heavy stages where crowd clearing becomes essential.
Strengths
- Strong AoE damage
- Great Burning support
- Reliable progression hero
Storm Thunder – Aula
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Lightning
Aula brings powerful Lightning-element damage and excellent synergy with other electric heroes.
He performs consistently across most content and fits naturally into Lightning-focused team compositions.
Strengths
- Reliable damage
- Strong Lightning synergy
- Good versatility
Indomitable Will – Bru
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Physical
Bru provides balanced offense and durability.
He doesn’t dominate any single category, but his overall performance remains consistently strong, making him a valuable hero for Physical-based squads.
Strengths
- Durable
- Reliable damage
- Strong Physical synergy
Polar Hunter – Lila
Rarity: Epic
Element: Frost
Lila is the highest-ranked Epic hero in the game.
That’s impressive considering she competes against numerous Legendary heroes.
Her Frost abilities provide crowd control, slowing effects, and excellent utility during progression stages. Players who don’t have access to top-tier Frost heroes can comfortably rely on Lila for a long time.
Strengths
- Best Epic hero
- Great crowd control
- Strong progression value
B Tier Heroes
These heroes remain useful but are generally outperformed by higher-tier alternatives.
Snow Shadow – Karl
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Frost
Karl provides decent Frost utility but struggles to compete with Frost Commander Mir and Polar Hunter Lila.
He’s still usable, especially in Frost-focused teams, but doesn’t offer enough to move higher.
Apocalypse Shadow – Linda
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Energy
Linda specializes in Energy-based attacks and can contribute respectable damage.
However, Energy builds currently lag behind some of the stronger Burning and Lightning options available in the meta.
Young Genius – Brian
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Energy
Brian offers good Energy support and scaling, but like Linda, he suffers from being tied to a less dominant element.
He’s still a solid pickup if you’re investing heavily into Energy compositions.
Iron Armor 28 – Hank
Rarity: Epic
Element: Burning
Hank provides decent value early and mid-game.
His Burning synergy keeps him relevant longer than most Epic heroes, but eventually stronger Legendary options replace him.
Last Ranger – Rennes
Rarity: Epic
Element: Lightning
Rennes offers respectable damage and can perform well in Lightning-focused teams.
While useful, he lacks the impact necessary to compete with Bell or Aula.
C Tier Heroes
These heroes can work but often require significant investment to remain competitive.
Glacial Vanguard – Luke
Rarity: Epic
Element: Frost
Luke provides basic Frost support but struggles to offer enough utility compared to higher-ranked Frost heroes.
Spark Girl – Phoebe
Rarity: Epic
Element: Burning
Phoebe can contribute decent damage early on, but her overall scaling falls behind stronger Burning heroes.
Dr. Magnetic Storm – Rex
Rarity: Epic
Element: Lightning
Rex fits Lightning teams but lacks the damage and utility needed to stand out.
Pigeon – Rachel
Rarity: Epic
Element: Lightning
Rachel remains usable for newer players but quickly gets replaced as stronger options become available.
D Tier Heroes
These heroes currently offer the least value and should only be used when better alternatives are unavailable.
Wasteland Mechanic – Max
Rarity: Epic
Element: Energy
Max focuses on Energy-based damage and utility, but his impact simply doesn’t compare to stronger heroes from other elements.
While he can function in niche Energy teams, most players will eventually move on from him.
Radium Eye – Lux
Rarity: Epic
Element: Energy
Lux specializes in Energy damage and can contribute during boss encounters.
Unfortunately, her overall performance is too inconsistent compared to heroes higher on the list.
She’s not completely unusable, but there are far better investments available.
The current Duck Survival meta heavily favors Burning, Frost, and Lightning heroes, which is why most of the strongest characters belong to those elements. Rocket Cole remains the king of the roster thanks to his Myth rarity and exceptional performance, while Frost Commander Mir, Raging Thunder Bell, and Justice Barrier Eric round out the strongest group of heroes currently available.
For free-to-play players, don’t overlook Polar Hunter Lila. Despite being an Epic hero, she remains one of the most valuable characters in the game and can easily carry progression through many difficult stages.
