Getting 100% achievements in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is honestly much more enjoyable than most open-world collectathon games because the game constantly rewards exploration. Almost every district hides puzzles, collectibles, gadgets, side missions, or secrets tied to Batman lore, and the progression feels surprisingly smooth if you approach achievements correctly from the start.
The good news is that nothing is permanently missable. You can safely play through the story first and clean everything afterward in free roam. Difficulty also does not matter, so if combat achievements become annoying later, lowering the game to Classic difficulty makes things much easier.
One thing I noticed while going for completion is that the game becomes far less overwhelming if you combine activities together instead of grinding them separately. Crimes, collectibles, puzzles, Bat-Symbols, AR Trials, and WayneTech caches naturally overlap while exploring Gotham.
LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight Achievement Guide
These are automatic achievements earned through progression. You cannot miss them.
Beware the Gray Ghost!
Complete Bruce’s Gray Ghost Costume by tracking down every item hidden in the gardens using detective tracking mode.
“A legend, Mr. Wayne.”
Complete the Prologue after Bruce and Alfred discover the future Batcave location.
One Bad Day
Complete Chapter One.
“Do I look like I’m joking?”
Complete Chapter Two.
The Dynamic Duo
Complete Chapter Three.
An Endless Winter
Complete Chapter Four.
Knightfall
Complete Chapter Five.
“A hero can be anyone.”
Finish Story Mode completely.
Honestly, the story achievements are very straightforward. I recommend simply enjoying the campaign normally first because many side activities unlock gradually anyway.
Character Unlock Achievements
Most hero unlocks happen naturally through story progression.
A Friend
Unlock Jim Gordon.
“Hear me roar.”
Unlock Catwoman.
The Boy Wonder
Unlock Robin.
“Let’s see what Batgirl can do!”
Unlock Batgirl.
A Grayson Graduation
Unlock Nightwing.
Out of the Shadows
Unlock Talia.
A lot of players try rushing these immediately, but honestly the game naturally introduces characters at a good pace. By the middle of the campaign, your roster becomes large enough to revisit old exploration zones more efficiently.
Gotham Exploration Achievements
These achievements take the most time overall because Gotham is absolutely packed with side content.
“This is my city.”
Place a Pin on the map once.
Very simple. Open the map and place a marker anywhere.
“It’s not exactly a normal world.”
Visit every district in Gotham.
This achievement can take longer than expected because districts are different from islands. Some islands contain multiple districts, so make sure you fully explore every section of the map.
“It’s a big city. I can’t be everywhere.”
Unlock every fast travel point.
Fast travel stations appear as shutter-like icons on the map. Most require small environmental puzzles before activation.
Personally, I unlocked these as early as possible because Gotham becomes much easier to navigate afterward.
“You’re becoming quite a celebrity.”
Discover 100 open-world events.
You will naturally earn a large portion of these while exploring, especially if you constantly investigate suspicious icons and random encounters.
“Gotham can feel a little safer.”
Prevent 30 crimes.
Crimes trigger randomly during free roam whenever alerts appear.
Using Jim Gordon actually helps quite a bit because his police-themed toolkit feels especially effective during crime events.
“Things have improved.”
Stop every crime type once:
- Mugging
- Break-in
- Snatch and Run
- Ambush
- Vandals
This achievement usually unlocks naturally before reaching 30 total crimes prevented.
“Is that like parachuting?”
Glide through 10 different wind tunnels.
These are scattered throughout Gotham’s skyline. Batman’s glide controls feel much smoother once you unlock movement upgrades.
“Hopefully, because he’s busy.”
Complete every side activity in Gotham.
This is one of the longest achievements in the game because it includes:
- WayneTech Caches
- Puzzle Rooms
- Escaped Zoo Animals
- AR Challenges
- Plantlife Events
- Riddler Activities
- Cluemaster Puzzles
- Side Missions
The map eventually becomes cluttered with icons, but thankfully most activities are short.
“You have a name to maintain.”
Open every WayneTech Cache.
WayneTech caches are especially important because many also reward suits, upgrades, gadgets, and progression resources.
I strongly recommend grabbing these while exploring instead of leaving them all for the endgame cleanup phase.
Batcave Achievements
The Batcave becomes much more important later in the game than many players initially expect.
Rebuilding Gotham
Cash in a Challenge inside the Batcave.
“I own the place.”
Purchase every Batcave expansion.
This becomes expensive later, so save studs consistently throughout the game.
“No, sir. The OTHER car.”
Purchase 3 vehicles.
Computer Privileges
Change the Batcomputer screensaver.
Simple customization achievement.
Wonderful Toys
Purchase all gadget upgrades for one character.
Batman is usually the easiest choice since most players naturally invest in him first.
“Quite the collection, Master Bruce.”
Collect every Batcave Trophy.
Not Just a Cave
Place 5 props or trophies inside the Batcave.
The Batcave customization system honestly ended up being more enjoyable than expected because trophies gradually turn the cave into a visual completion showcase.
Combat Achievements
Most combat achievements become significantly easier on Classic difficulty.
The Strength to Fight
Reach a 99-hit combo.
If this becomes frustrating, lower the difficulty and use crowd-control gadgets to maintain combos safely.
Jim Gordon’s second gadget reportedly makes this achievement extremely easy.
“Never do it for free.”
Collect 30,000 studs in one combo.
This usually happens naturally once combo multipliers become high enough.
“I’m good with calculation.”
Maintain maximum stud combo for 60 seconds.
This is honestly easier during large combat encounters with many weak enemies.
“I am the shadows.”
Perform 100 stealth takedowns.
Sneak behind enemies and perform silent takedowns repeatedly throughout the game.
You do not need to grind this separately if you consistently play stealthily during missions.
Caped Defender
Perform 100 successful counters.
Counter timing feels very forgiving once you get used to enemy animations.
Cowardly and Superstitious Lot
Defeat every enemy type once:
- Regular Enemy
- Shield Enemy
- Heavy Enemy
- Sword/Bat Enemy
- Ranged Enemy
Most players unlock this naturally during story progression.
Gadget Achievements
“Lighter, faster, more agile.”
Purchase one skill upgrade from every category.
Theatricality and Deception
Purchase 3 gadget upgrades.
You will unlock these naturally while upgrading Batman and your favorite heroes.
Collectible Achievements
These achievements are the true completion grind.
“Life’s been good to me.”
Collect 1,000,000 studs.
You will likely earn this naturally before full completion if you destroy environmental objects constantly.
“You either buy a hero…”
Purchase 5 shop items.
Up for the Challenge
Complete 20 challenges.
“This is too much power for one person.”
Collect every Red Brick.
Red Bricks remain some of the most important collectibles because many provide massive gameplay modifiers and quality-of-life improvements.
“Wouldn’t wanna make things too easy.”
Earn 5 Gold Medals in AR Trials.
Some AR trials become much easier once movement upgrades unlock.
Too Many Questions
Complete every Puzzle Room.
“Holy Skill Upgrades, Batman!”
Unlock all skill upgrades.
This becomes one of the final achievements for most players because of the massive stud investment required.
“Wanna know how I got these cars?”
Unlock all vehicles.
Vehicle unlocks come from:
- Shops
- Story progression
- Side activities
- WayneTech caches
“Does it come in black?”
Equip a Red Brick.
“The idea was to be a symbol.”
Collect 25 Bat-Symbols.
“I’m not wearing hockey pads.”
Unlock all suits.
Most suits come from:
- Story progression
- Side activities
- Puzzle Rooms
- WayneTech caches
- Bat-Mite’s shop
- AR Challenges
Thankfully, deluxe edition and DLC suits are not required for the achievement.
A Watchful Collector
Collect every collectible in the game.
This includes:
- Riddler Trophies
- Cluemaster Puzzles
- Red Bricks
- Bat-Symbols
- Puzzle Rooms
- Collectible trackers
This is essentially the “true 100% completion” achievement.
“I am Batman.”
Unlock every trophy.
This is the final achievement tied to full completion.
Miscellaneous Achievement
Collecting Evidence
Rotate the camera over 20 degrees in Photo Mode.
Pause the game and enter Photo Mode to unlock it instantly.
