DRAKANTOS Hero Tier List Guide (Closed Beta)

The closed beta for Drakantos finally gave players a real chance to test the hero roster properly, and after spending time watching PvP fights, dungeon runs, grinding sessions, and team battles, some heroes clearly stood out more than others.

One thing that immediately makes Drakantos different from traditional MMORPGs is how the class system works. You are not locked into a single permanent character forever. Every class exists as a hero that can be unlocked on your account, and you can freely switch between them whenever you want.

That system honestly changes how you approach progression. Instead of worrying about rerolling completely new characters, the game encourages players to experiment with different heroes depending on PvE, PvP, bosses, or farming content.

This tier list is mainly focused on early-game and beta performance. Many late-game systems were still unavailable during testing, so some heroes may become much stronger later once advanced builds and upgrades unlock.

Still, based on what players could actually test during the beta, this was the overall impression of the roster.

S Tier Heroes

These heroes consistently felt powerful in almost every type of content. Strong utility, survivability, mobility, and damage made them stand above the rest.

Marly – Priestess

Marly felt like the complete package during the beta.

She had ranged attacks, shields, healing, crowd control, AoE damage, and defensive tools all combined into one extremely safe kit. Every time a team had a strong Marly player, fights immediately felt easier.

One of the biggest reasons she ranked so highly was her shield ability. Unlike defensive skills that require perfect timing, Marly’s shield stayed active until enemies broke it. That made her much more forgiving for beginners while still being powerful for experienced players.

Her root and slow abilities also gave her excellent crowd control during PvP and group fights. On top of that, her defensive skill granting temporary full damage reduction made her surprisingly difficult to kill.

The only noticeable weakness was mobility. If assassins caught her badly positioned, she could struggle to escape. But overall, Marly was one of the safest and strongest heroes in the beta.

Yuki – Frost Kitsune

Yuki completely changed the usual idea of a tank class.

Instead of standing still and absorbing damage, she relied on movement, slows, freeze effects, and mobility to survive fights. Honestly, she felt more like an aggressive control fighter than a traditional MMO tank.

Her freeze stacking mechanic constantly pressured enemies because every stack reduced movement speed before eventually freezing targets completely.

What made Yuki especially strong was how balanced her kit felt. She had mobility, crowd control, engage tools, survivability, and strong defensive scaling all together.

Her ultimate was another major reason she ranked so highly. During fights she gained huge damage reduction, making her extremely difficult to burst down when played properly.

Yuki was one of the most frustrating heroes to fight against during the beta because enemies constantly felt slowed or locked down.

Reya – Stormlancer

Reya had the highest skill ceiling in the beta.

At first, many players struggled with her because her gameplay depends heavily on movement, combo timing, and positioning. But once experienced players mastered her dash system, she became terrifying.

Her triple dash mobility allowed her to enter fights, burst targets instantly, and escape before enemies could react properly.

The electric stack mechanic also rewarded aggressive combo gameplay. Once enough stacks were applied, her burst damage became incredibly dangerous.

One thing I noticed during the beta was how different Reya looked depending on the player controlling her. Weak players died quickly, but skilled Reya players looked almost impossible to catch.

If someone enjoys fast-paced assassin gameplay with constant movement, Reya is easily one of the most satisfying heroes in Drakantos right now.

A Tier Heroes

These heroes were very strong and reliable, but they either lacked the overwhelming versatility of S tier heroes or required more player execution.

Yura – Ronin

Yura had one of the smoothest melee combat styles during the beta.

Her gameplay focused heavily on speed, quick executions, and bait mechanics. One of her most interesting abilities allowed her to fake aggression, bait enemy cooldowns, then counterattack immediately afterward.

That ability alone created a lot of mind games during PvP fights.

Her ultimate also granted temporary invulnerability while repositioning, making her safer than many other melee heroes.

Compared to Reya, Yura felt easier to learn while still rewarding aggressive playstyles.

Ojore – Earthshaker

Ojore felt like the most reliable frontline tank available during testing.

His massive HP pool combined with his floating stone defense mechanic made him incredibly durable. Unlike timing-based defensive skills, his stones automatically reduced incoming damage from several attacks.

That reliability mattered a lot during chaotic team fights.

His charge engage ability could also stun enemies against terrain, creating strong combo opportunities in PvP.

What really pushed Ojore higher was his ultimate protecting nearby allies as well. He brought real team utility instead of just personal survivability.

Ozul – Rogue

Ozul was the true assassin specialist of the roster.

His damage potential during the beta was honestly ridiculous once players understood how his combos worked. Many abilities dealt bonus damage when striking enemies from behind, rewarding smart positioning heavily.

The dagger mechanic especially stood out. Players could activate ranged dagger attacks, then instantly redirect all stored daggers into a target for massive burst damage.

His invisibility ultimate also gave him excellent assassination and escape potential.

Ozul definitely required practice and awareness, but skilled players could absolutely dominate fights with him.

Thomas – Bard

Thomas was one of the most unique support heroes in the game.

Instead of simple skill rotations, his abilities relied on musical sequences and melody combinations. At first this felt awkward, especially in PvP, but once mastered his utility became incredible.

He could reduce incoming damage for allies, heal teammates over time, and even put enemies to sleep during fights.

Personally, Thomas felt like one of those heroes that becomes stronger the more coordinated your team becomes.

Faendar – Archdruid

Faendar had a very interesting toolkit that suffered heavily from the beta’s old control system.

His owl transformation granted movement speed and survivability, while his ranged attacks and healing abilities gave him strong flexibility.

The main issue was manual aiming. Some abilities felt clunky because the beta required dragging directional indicators instead of smooth mouse targeting.

With the developers improving controls for future tests, Faendar could easily rise higher later.

B Tier Heroes

These heroes were functional and perfectly playable, but lacked the impact or flexibility of stronger picks.

Liam – Knight

Liam felt solid in almost every area without truly excelling anywhere.

He had decent survivability, respectable AoE damage, and reliable engage tools, but nothing in his kit felt especially game changing.

His defensive mechanic also required precise timing compared to easier defensive abilities from heroes like Marly or Ojore.

Overall, Liam felt balanced but not particularly exciting.

Arryn – Mystic Archer

Arryn represented the classic ranged archer playstyle.

Her strongest feature was her enemy-marking debuff ability that reduced both attack power and movement speed significantly.

During PvP, this made her surprisingly annoying to fight against.

The issue was that the rest of her kit mostly focused on straightforward damage without additional utility or game-changing mechanics.

She felt safe and reliable, but lacked the impact of higher-tier heroes.

Orbryn – Gadgeteer Hunter

Orbryn had one of the more technical kits during the beta thanks to his gadgets, turrets, mines, and mortar abilities.

His setup-oriented gameplay could be fun, but early on he lacked meaningful crowd control and immediate fight impact compared to stronger heroes.

Many players believe he will scale much better later once advanced upgrades unlock.

Right now though, he felt more situational than universally powerful.

C Tier Heroes

These heroes struggled during the beta and generally felt weaker or less rewarding than the rest of the roster.

Korz – Berserker

Korz had a cool self-healing concept built around blood reserves, but during the beta the healing numbers simply felt too weak.

Even though he had high HP, his sustain never felt strong enough to compensate for his lack of mobility and utility.

Honestly, Korz feels like a hero that only needs balance buffs to become dangerous, but in the beta he struggled badly.

Iris – Illusionist

Iris had some genuinely creative mechanics, but the execution difficulty often did not feel worth the effort.

Her teleport clone mechanic sounded amazing on paper, but in real fights it was inconsistent and difficult to use properly.

The same issue applied to her dimensional barrier ultimate. It looked useful at first, but enemies could still enter the barrier, reducing its impact heavily.

Skilled players could still make Iris work, but most players found easier heroes delivering better results.

Byron – Archmage

Byron had one of the coolest survival abilities in the entire beta.

His temporal rewind mechanic allowed him to return to a previous location, heal himself, gain temporary invulnerability, and damage nearby enemies at the same time.

The problem was the rest of his kit lacked enough overall impact.

His single-target healing ultimate especially felt weak during larger team fights where AoE healing mattered much more.

Unranked Heroes

Several heroes were not fully tested during the beta or lacked enough gameplay footage for accurate placement.

Kavras – Lich

Kavras already looks extremely promising based on his necromancer design alone.

Skeleton summons, AoE magic explosions, and mobility tools give him one of the most interesting fantasy themes in the roster.

Necromancer-style classes usually scale very well in MMORPGs, so many players already expect Kavras to become a strong late-game hero.

Mohazus – Death Knight

Mohazus remains one of the biggest mysteries in Drakantos.

Based on the Death Knight fantasy, many players expect him to become a durable bruiser with dark magic sustain and frontline pressure.

Urijor – Feral Druid

Urijor’s “Mad Druid” concept already sounds chaotic and aggressive.

If his kit mixes shapeshifting with melee combat and nature magic, he could become one of the most entertaining heroes in the game.

Ophis – Sorceress

Ophis appears to focus heavily on chaotic magical burst damage.

Pure caster heroes often scale extremely well later in MMORPGs, so her future potential looks very interesting.

Irhaal – Bladedancer

Irhaal seems designed for players who enjoy fast dual-blade combat and mobility-heavy gameplay.

If his movement and combo flow feel smooth, he could become extremely popular during future betas.

Zeugladius – Paladin

Zeugladius was technically playable during the beta, but honestly struggled badly compared to most of the roster.

His biggest issue was mobility. His attacks felt slow and predictable, making him easy to punish during PvP.

While his defensive and healing concepts looked interesting, the execution felt far too clunky during fast-paced fights.

He definitely needs adjustments before competing with stronger frontline heroes.

The biggest thing I noticed during the beta was how valuable flexibility and survivability felt compared to pure damage.

Heroes who could shield, heal, reposition, slow enemies, or survive longer consistently performed better than heroes focused only on raw DPS.

For beginners entering Drakantos, Marly is probably the safest hero to start with because her kit feels useful in almost every situation.

Players who enjoy high mobility and aggressive combat will probably love Reya, Yura, or Ozul, while more tactical players may prefer Yuki, Thomas, or Ojore depending on whether they enjoy control, support, or tank gameplay.
