Choosing the right race in Wizard Alchemy can completely change how strong your character feels during progression. Some races give simple movement or survivability bonuses, while others massively increase your DPS and make boss fights dramatically easier.
At first glance, the system looks pretty straightforward because higher rarity races are usually stronger, but after spending time testing different builds and elements, there are definitely some races that outperform others far more than expected. Certain races also depend heavily on your elemental setup, which means a race that feels amazing for one player might feel mediocre for someone using a different magic type.
This guide ranks every race currently available in the game while also explaining their stats, strengths, weaknesses, and which builds they work best with.
Wizard Alchemy Tier List – Best Races Guide
If you’re rerolling early, I highly recommend trying to get at least Werewolf before pushing deeper into progression. It gives decent all-around stats and feels much smoother than the lower-tier beginner races.
Later on, your goal should be one of the A or S-Tier races.
S-Tier Races
Thestrals (1%)
Best Overall Race in the Game
Thestrals are honestly on another level compared to almost every other race right now. If your goal is pure damage and fast progression, this is easily the strongest option available.
What makes Thestrals so powerful is that they combine multiple offensive buffs together instead of focusing on just one specialty. You get increased Attack Power, Dark elemental amplification, Disaster damage-over-time effects, mobility bonuses, and Skill Speed all at once.
The Disaster passive especially feels extremely strong during story grinding because enemies continue taking damage even after your attacks land.
Thestrals Stats & Abilities
- Applies Disaster damage-over-time for 5 seconds
- +20% Dark Elemental Damage
- Normal attacks convert into Dark attribute
- +3% Base Movement Speed
- +10% Jump Height
- +10% Attack Power
- +30 Skill Speed
The only real downside is the low roll rate. At 1%, this is one of the hardest races to obtain naturally.
Still, if you pull Thestrals early, you’re basically set for endgame progression.
A-Tier Races
Stellar Ambassador (4%)
Best Flexible DPS Race
Stellar Ambassador is one of my favorite races personally because it works well with almost every build in the game.
Unlike elemental races that force you into specific spell types, Stellar Ambassador boosts your overall performance instead. The Attack Power increase combined with Skill Speed makes combat feel much faster and smoother, especially during boss fights where rapid casting matters a lot.
The movement speed burst passive also helps a ton while kiting enemies.
Stellar Ambassador Stats & Abilities
- Gain movement speed bursts while dealing damage
- +20 Skill Speed
- +10% Attack Power
If you don’t want to lock yourself into Fire or Ice builds, this is probably the safest high-tier race to use long-term.
Death Eater (10%)
Best Sustain Race for Solo Players
Death Eater is incredibly strong for players who mostly grind solo.
The HP restoration effect after kills gives you surprisingly good sustain while farming mobs, letting you stay alive much longer without constantly retreating or using healing abilities.
While it technically deals slightly less peak elemental damage than Fiendish Demon or Ice Crystal, the overall consistency makes it feel stronger during long sessions.
Death Eater Stats & Abilities
- Restore 5% Max HP after defeating enemies
- HP regeneration speed reduced by 50%
- +10% Attack Power
Personally, I think this race feels best during leveling because you can chain fights together nonstop without worrying too much about health management.
B-Tier Races
Fiendish Demon (5%)
Best Fire Element Race
Fiendish Demon becomes extremely strong if you fully commit to Fire magic builds.
The +20% Fire Elemental Damage boost hits surprisingly hard, and the extra movement speed helps a lot during aggressive combat situations. The downside is the HP penalty, which can make certain bosses feel dangerous if you get caught by large attacks.
Fiendish Demon Stats & Abilities
- +20% Fire Elemental Damage
- +2 Base Movement Speed
- -10% Max HP
If you love fast offensive playstyles, this race feels really satisfying.
Ice Crystal (5%)
Best Ice Build Race
Ice Crystal is basically the defensive version of Fiendish Demon.
Instead of extra movement speed, you gain bonus HP, making the race better suited for tankier Ice builds and defensive spell setups. It still deals excellent damage if you specialize into Ice magic, though it feels slightly slower overall because of the movement speed penalty.
Ice Crystal Stats & Abilities
- +20% Ice Elemental Damage
- -2 Base Movement Speed
- +10% Max HP
This race works especially well with survivability-focused spell combinations.
C-Tier Races
Werewolf (10%)
Best Beginner Race
Werewolf is the perfect early-game race because it gives a little bit of everything.
You get extra HP, bonus damage, better movement, and additional jump height all bundled together. None of the buffs are massive individually, but together they make the early game feel much smoother than playing Human or Elf.
Werewolf Stats & Abilities
- +10% Max HP
- +5 Attack Power
- +1 Base Movement Speed
- +10 Jump Height
Eventually you’ll want to replace it with stronger late-game races, but early on, Werewolf honestly feels very comfortable to play.
D-Tier Races
Undead (10%)
Situational but Inconsistent
Undead sounds much stronger on paper than it actually feels during gameplay.
The revive passive can occasionally save you during difficult boss fights, but if you’re consistently avoiding damage properly, the ability rarely activates. Meanwhile, the massive Max HP reduction hurts a lot more than expected.
Undead Stats & Abilities
- Survive fatal damage once every 180 seconds
- Restore 30% Max HP after revival
- Short invincibility state
- -30% Max HP
- +10 Skill Speed
The Skill Speed is nice, but overall there are simply safer and stronger races available.
Tree Spirit (15%)
Okay Early On, Replace Quickly
Tree Spirit works decently during the earliest stages of progression because the regeneration bonuses make healing easier for new players.
The problem is that the race scales poorly later in the game where mobility and damage become much more important.
Tree Spirit Stats & Abilities
- Double HP regeneration speed
- +5% Max HP
- -2 Base Movement Speed
It’s usable early, but definitely not worth keeping long-term.
Elf (15%)
Mostly Movement Utility
Elf honestly feels underwhelming compared to almost every other race in the game.
The movement bonuses are noticeable while exploring, but they provide almost no real combat advantage.
Elf Stats & Abilities
- +3 Base Movement Speed
- +10 Jump Height
It’s fun for mobility, but combat performance suffers heavily.
Human (25%)
Default Starting Race
Human is simply the basic starter race with no bonuses at all.
Human Stats & Abilities
- No buffs
- No passives
You’ll want to reroll this as soon as possible.
How To Get Race Rerolls in Wizard Alchemy
Currently, there are only two ways to reroll your race in Wizard Alchemy:
Use Codes
The current working codes are:
- WIZARD
- RELEASE
- MACHI
These give free Race Rerolls and are easily the best option for free-to-play players.
Right now, Thestrals clearly dominate the race meta thanks to their massive damage stacking and overall utility. If you manage to pull one, it’s honestly difficult to justify rerolling away from it.
That said, several lower-rarity races are still extremely good depending on your build. Stellar Ambassador is one of the most reliable all-purpose races, while Fiendish Demon and Ice Crystal can outperform higher tiers if you fully specialize into their matching elements.
For newer players, the smartest strategy is usually starting with something decent like Werewolf, saving rerolls from codes, and slowly aiming toward one of the top-tier races later on.
