Wax Heads Beginner Guide & Walkthrough Achievement

If you are trying to unlock every achievement in Wax Heads, the good news is that most of them are very relaxed and naturally tied to the story. The game is much more about atmosphere, music culture, and interacting with customers than difficult gameplay challenges, so getting 100% completion is pretty enjoyable overall.

A lot of achievements will unlock automatically as you progress through the different “Sides” of the story, while others require you to explore the record store more carefully, interact with side activities, or simply spend extra time experimenting with the game’s systems. Nothing here is extremely hard, but a few achievements are easy to miss if you rush through the story.

This guide walks through every achievement in a beginner-friendly way with extra tips and explanations so you always know what to do and when to do it.

Wax Heads Beginner Guide & Walkthrough Achievement

These achievements unlock naturally as you complete the game’s chapters. You do not need to do anything special besides continuing through the main story.

Another Day In Paradise

Complete Side A.

This unlocks after finishing the first act of the game. Just keep helping customers, learning how the store works, and progressing through the opening section.

Still The Same

Complete Side B.

Unlocked after completing Act 2.

Eight Days A Week

Complete Side C.

Unlocked after completing Act 3.

Hero Of The Day

Complete Side D.

Unlocked after completing Act 4.

Just Another Day In Paradise

Complete Side E.

Unlocked after completing Act 5.

The Show Must Go On

Reach the end of the story.

This is the final story achievement and unlocks once you fully complete the game. If you are going for 100%, you will almost certainly earn this naturally before cleanup.

Store and Gameplay Achievements

Open Your Heart

Open Up Repeater Records.

This achievement unlocks very early in the game when the store officially opens. It is essentially part of the tutorial and cannot be missed.

The First Cut Is The Deepest

Make your first sale.

After helping your first customer find the correct record and successfully checking them out, this achievement will unlock automatically.

Nothing But The Best

Chain five correct recommendations.

This is one of the more gameplay-focused achievements in the game.

To unlock it, you need to correctly recommend records to five customers in a row without making a mistake. The safest way to do this is to pay close attention to customer dialogue and hints. Customers often describe genres, moods, themes, or artists they like, and the game expects you to make connections based on those clues.

If you are struggling, take your time instead of rushing. The game does not punish you for thinking carefully, and it is much easier to build a streak when you stay patient.

Waiting For The Sun

Make a customer wait too long.

This achievement sounds stressful, but it is actually very easy.

When a customer asks for a record, simply do nothing for several minutes. Many players report the achievement unlocking after roughly 8 to 10 minutes of waiting around.

Thankfully, there are no major consequences for making someone wait, so you can safely earn this whenever you want.

Baby One More Time

Offer a rejected record twice.

For this achievement, recommend the same incorrect record to two different customers and receive a negative reaction from both of them.

The easiest way is to intentionally choose a bad recommendation for one customer, remember the record you used, and then repeat the mistake with another customer later.

Push The Button

Use all the cash register icons.

Whenever you check out customers, you will notice different cash register icons and interactions. To unlock this achievement, make sure you use every available icon at least once throughout your playthrough.

This is something most players miss simply because they stick to the same habits every time they sell a record. Try experimenting during checkout instead of rushing through transactions.

Exploration Achievements

Walk The Floor

Visit every room in the store.

Most rooms unlock naturally as the story progresses, so this achievement is mostly about remembering to actually enter each area at least once.

Explore slowly and check every door whenever new sections become available. The only room that works a little differently is the storage room, which is tied to another achievement explained below.

Behind Closed Doors

Enter the storage room.

The storage room is located near the arcade machine area. To open it, you need a code found inside the employee manual.

However, many players have reported that the achievement can be buggy. In some versions of the game, entering the basement incorrectly triggers the achievement instead of the actual storage room.

So if the achievement does not unlock properly after entering the storage room, try visiting the basement as well.

Poster Child

Make a poster for Hank.

At one point during the story, Hank asks for help creating a poster for his band. Complete this small side activity when it appears and the achievement will unlock.

This one is difficult to miss as long as you talk to characters and follow side conversations naturally.

Staff Room and Side Activity Achievements

Over The Rainbow

Play The Ukulele.

Inside the staff room, you can find a ukulele. Interact with it and play around with it for a moment to unlock the achievement.

This is one of the game’s smaller flavor interactions, but it adds a lot to the cozy atmosphere of the store.

You Decorated My Life

Buy a Wild Kindness item.

Use the laptop in the staff room and purchase any Wild Kindness item. Once the transaction goes through, the achievement unlocks immediately.

Can’t Buy Me Love

Buy 10 Wild Kindness items.

This is simply the longer version of the previous achievement.

Keep using the laptop and continue purchasing items until you reach a total of ten purchases. You can spread this across your playthrough rather than grinding it all at once.

On Repeat

Play multiple tracks on the jukebox.

First, buy at least five records using the staff room laptop. After that, use the jukebox in the staff room and play the records you purchased.

The achievement unlocks after interacting with multiple tracks.

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy

Eat ten chocolate bars.

Chocolate bars can also be purchased from the laptop in the staff room.

After buying one, inspect a record closely and you should see the chocolate bar appear in the upper-left area of the screen. Keep clicking it repeatedly until you consume enough bars to unlock the achievement.

This is a funny little achievement that many players completely overlook.

Pet Sematary

Be attentive to your virtual pet.

When examining records closely, look toward the right side of the screen to find a Tamagotchi-style virtual pet.

Interact with it multiple times over the course of the game. Eventually, the achievement will unlock.

You do not need to do anything complicated here. Just keep checking on the pet occasionally whenever you remember.

Diggy Doggo Achievements

Diggy Diggy Hole

Complete Diggy Doggo.

Inside the store, there is an arcade machine containing the mini-game “Diggy Doggo.”

To unlock this achievement, you need to fully complete the mini-game. It may take a few attempts depending on your skill level, but it is fairly manageable once you understand the controls.

Live And Let Die

Die 10 times in Diggy Doggo.

This achievement is much easier.

Simply keep failing in Diggy Doggo until your total deaths reach ten. Even if you are good at the mini-game, you can intentionally lose runs to speed this up.

You do not need to complete all ten deaths in one sitting.

Puzzle and Interaction Achievements

Everything In Its Right Place

Complete all sorting puzzles.

Throughout the story, you will encounter four different sorting puzzles.

These are mandatory for progression, but you must successfully finish all of them to unlock the achievement. None of them are especially difficult, though some may take a bit of trial and error.

Take your time organizing things logically and carefully reading any hints provided.

Monster Mash

Watch all Monster Music interviews.

As you progress through the game, you will encounter several Monster Music interview segments.

Make sure you fully watch each one whenever they appear. If you skip dialogue or rush scenes too quickly, you may accidentally miss progress toward this achievement.

Fortunately, most players earn this naturally during a normal playthrough.

Sing, Sing, Sing

Interact multiple times on Phonogram.

Phonogram acts as the game’s social media system.

You can interact with posts by clicking on existing reactions and engagement options. Continue interacting with various posts over time and the achievement will eventually unlock.

This is another achievement many players accidentally ignore because they forget the feature exists.

Reading Achievement

Book Of The Day

Read a total of 50,000 words.

This is probably the longest achievement in the game.

You are very unlikely to unlock it during a single playthrough unless you carefully read absolutely everything. Most players will need to start a second run to finish accumulating enough words.

You can monitor your progress through the employee performance app, though there is one important thing to remember: the displayed stats do not carry over cleanly between playthroughs. Because of that, you may need to roughly calculate how many words you still need after starting again.

The best way to make progress is simply to slow down and read every piece of dialogue, description, message, and optional interaction you can find.

Final Achievement

Greatest Hits

Unlock all achievements.

Once every other achievement has been completed, this final achievement unlocks automatically and confirms your full 100% completion of Wax Heads.
