Starship Troopers Ultimate Bug War Weapon Tier List Guide

If you’ve been playing Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War, you already know one thing — not all weapons feel equal once the bug hordes start getting serious.

Some guns feel amazing early but fall off later, while others seem average until you realize they absolutely melt armored enemies or save you in chaotic fights.

So instead of just listing weapons, I’m going to break this down the way players actually experience it — what feels strong, what carries you, and what you should realistically be using depending on the situation.

S Tier Weapons

These are the weapons that consistently perform no matter the mission, difficulty, or enemy type, and once you get used to them, it’s hard to go back.

The E-Pulse 44 is easily one of the strongest weapons in the game because even though it has limited ammo and requires some accuracy, it absolutely destroys armored bugs, making it essential for tougher encounters where normal weapons struggle.

The E-Pulse 88 as a heavy weapon feels like a panic button you actually want to press, since it behaves like a high-powered machine gun that shreds centurions and even damages tankers effectively, making it one of the most reliable lifesavers in late-game chaos.

The Morita Carbine stands out as the best all-rounder for aggressive players because its faster fire rate and smooth handling make it perfect for close-range crowd control, especially when you’re constantly dealing with waves of bugs rushing you.

A Tier Weapons

These weapons are extremely good and can carry you through most of the game, but they either require more skill or don’t perform equally well in every situation.

The Morita Mk.1 is the classic rifle that feels balanced in every way, and while it doesn’t excel at anything specific, its underbarrel shotgun gives it surprising burst damage when enemies get too close, making it much more versatile than it first appears.

The Morita Hawkeye is a powerful hybrid between a DMR and a sniper, and while it’s not ideal for dealing with swarms, it shines when picking off dangerous enemies like flying bugs or distant threats before they become a problem.

The Shotgun delivers insane damage at close range and can delete enemies quickly, but its limited ammo and lack of crowd control make it situational, especially in later missions where enemies come from all directions.

B Tier Weapons

These weapons are not bad by any means, but they require the right situation or playstyle to really shine.

The Nuke Launcher is incredibly powerful and satisfying to use, capable of wiping out massive threats in one shot, but its extremely limited ammo and situational usage mean you can’t rely on it consistently throughout a mission.

Grenades, both explosive and incendiary, are great tools for clearing groups or damaging nests, but since they’re limited and not always available when you need them, they feel more like support tools rather than core weapons.

Best Weapon Combo

If you’re just starting out and want a setup that actually works without overthinking it, the safest combo is using a Morita Carbine for crowd control paired with the E-Pulse 44 for armored enemies, since this covers almost every situation you’ll face.

No matter what weapon you’re using, the game constantly hints at one thing for a reason:

Aim for the nerve stem.

Doing this massively increases your damage and can make even weaker weapons feel much stronger, especially against warrior bugs.

The truth is, there’s no single “perfect weapon” for every situation, because the game constantly throws different types of enemies at you, but the players who perform best are the ones who balance:

  • Crowd control
  • Armor damage
  • Ammo management

Once you understand that, you stop relying on one weapon and start playing smarter, and that’s when the game really starts to feel fun instead of overwhelming.
