Zenonia 1 Best Builds Guide – Paladin, Assassin, Warrior

Zenonia 1 is back, and if you’re starting a new save, one of the first things you’ll need to decide is which class and build you want to play. Since your class is tied to your save file, the points you spend early on can have a big effect on how your character feels later.

In this Zenonia 1 builds guide, I’ll go through the Warrior, Paladin, and Assassin and explain the setups I recommend for each one. We’ll look at the stats you should focus on, useful skills to pick up, and what kind of playstyle you can expect from each class.

Keep in mind that Zenonia 1 has only recently returned, so there isn’t a huge amount of reliable information about the current version yet. I’m combining what I found from other players with the builds and experiences available so far, so you can use this as a starting point rather than treating every stat ratio as a strict rule.

Zenonia 1 Best Builds Guide – Paladin, Assassin, Warrior

If you just want the quick recommendations before getting into the details, here’s what I would go with:

  • Best beginner build: Warrior with pure STR
  • Best damage build: Assassin with 2 AGI / 1 STR
  • Best survivability build: Paladin with STR + CON

Each class has a very different playstyle, so the “best” build ultimately depends on whether you want straightforward damage, better survivability, or faster dungeon clearing.

Before You Spend a Point

The first thing you should know is that you can’t simply switch your class halfway through the game. Your class is tied to your save, so I recommend thinking about your choice before you start putting points into your character.

If you played the original mobile version, you’ll probably recognize a lot of the systems here. The Steam release is a restoration rather than a complete remake, meaning the original class progression, skills, equipment, hunger, inventory weight, durability, and Good/Evil systems are still part of the experience.

This is important when building your character because you’re not only thinking about damage. Your inventory has a weight limit, your equipment can wear down, and some stats can make the early game much more comfortable.

I’d therefore avoid putting too many early points into stats that don’t immediately help your character. Getting more damage and carrying capacity can make the early part of the game considerably easier.

Another thing worth mentioning is that Zenonia 1 doesn’t have a simple modern “main stat” system where everything is completely obvious. Based on player experiences, AGI appears to provide a stronger attack-power increase per point than STR, although that doesn’t automatically mean every class should simply stack AGI.

That’s why the best stat distribution depends heavily on the class you’re playing.

Warrior Build: Pure STR

Recommended stats: STR, with everything else being secondary.

Recommended skill order: Crash → Rising Spine / Double Strike → Panic Shout / Shining Blade → Blessed Armor / Berserker Spirit / Mateo

Important passives: Focus of the Archer, Wrath of the Dragon, Strength of the Bear

Gear priority: Focus on raw damage and STR, while also looking for equipment that can reduce your SP costs.

If you’re completely new to Zenonia 1 and don’t want to overcomplicate things, Warrior is probably the build I’d recommend first.

For Warrior, I prefer putting your points into pure STR rather than trying to split them between STR and CON. A 2 STR / 1 CON setup might seem safer on paper, but the extra survivability doesn’t necessarily make up for the damage you lose.

There are also examples of high-level Warriors using a much more spread-out stat distribution. One level 90 Warrior, for example, was reported with STR 362, AGI 98, CON 98, and SPI 98, along with Double Strike 10/10, Berserk Spirit 10/10, and Mateo 7/10.

That doesn’t mean you have to copy those exact numbers. I’d treat them more as an example of how a Warrior can eventually develop rather than a strict leveling formula.

The biggest downside of Warrior is speed. The class can feel slower compared with the others, and some of its skills aren’t particularly impressive.

However, Warrior makes up for that with a very high damage ceiling. Some attacks can also reach beyond two tiles, which gives you a little more room to work with when fighting enemies.

If you’re looking for a straightforward build where you can focus on hitting hard without constantly worrying about complicated stat combinations, pure STR Warrior is the safest option.

Paladin Build: STR and CON Sustain

Recommended stats: STR + CON, with some SPI if Holy Bless and Blade Spirit are consuming too much SP.

Recommended skill order: Compact Slash → Rising Slash / Restore → Soul Impact / Holy Bless → Blade Spirit / Blast Boom / Holy Shout

Paladin is the class I’d choose if you want something more forgiving and don’t mind sacrificing some damage for survivability.

The general idea is simple: you take hits, recover your health, and slowly wear enemies down instead of trying to kill everything as quickly as possible.

A tested level 38 Paladin was reported with STR 115, AGI 50, CON 77, and SPI 60. That character had Restore 1, Holy Bless 4, Soul Impact 1, Blade Spirit 1, Grace of the Crow 10, Strength of the Bull 4, Life of the Wolf 5, and Leather of the Bear 10.

Again, I wouldn’t treat those exact numbers as something you absolutely have to copy. The ratio can be adjusted depending on how your own character feels.

The important part is maintaining the Paladin’s identity. You want enough STR to deal reasonable damage while using CON to make yourself more durable.

If your skills are consuming too much SP, adding some SPI can also make the build more comfortable.

You can play a Paladin with pure STR, but I find it much less forgiving. The class also doesn’t have the same kind of screen-clearing AoE that can save you when you’re surrounded, so having additional survivability is useful.

If you prefer a slower but safer playstyle, STR + CON Paladin is a good place to start.

Assassin Build: AGI and Crit

The Assassin is probably the most exciting class if your main goal is damage and fast dungeon clearing.

There are a few ways you can build it:

  • Balanced: 2 AGI / 1 STR
  • Glass cannon: Pure AGI
  • Safer setup: Mostly AGI with occasional CON

Recommended skill order: Frenzy Sword → Explosion / Ice Spear → Burning Spirit / Chain Lightning → Invisibility Illusion / Thunder Storm

Important passives: Agility of the Lynx, Grace of the Crow, Will of the Unicorn, Recovery of the Eagle, Tear of Orion, Howl of the Lion, Wrath of the Dragon

If you like fast characters and don’t mind being fragile, Assassin is the class I’d look at first.

A player using a 2 AGI / 1 STR setup reported around 85% critical chance and 67% evade at level 67. Those numbers show why AGI-focused Assassin builds can become extremely powerful.

The basic idea is to take advantage of AGI, critical hits, and evasion to kill enemies before they have much of a chance to fight back.

Frenzy Sword is useful as an early and relatively cheap opener, while Thunder Storm becomes one of the most important abilities once you have access to it.

Thunder Storm is particularly useful when you’re dealing with groups of enemies. Instead of having to fight every enemy individually, you have an answer for packed rooms and crowded areas.

For skills, I’d prioritize your useful passives and then work toward Thunder Storm. You generally don’t need to dump huge numbers of points into prerequisite skills if you only need them to unlock something stronger later.

The downside is obvious: Assassin is fragile.

When you get surrounded, the class can fall apart much faster than a Paladin or Warrior. You’re relying on your damage, critical hits, and evasion to keep fights under control.

If you play aggressively and keep moving, though, Assassin can clear dungeons faster than the other classes mentioned here.

Which Zenonia 1 Build Should You Choose?

If you’re still unsure which class to pick, I’d keep it simple.

Go with Warrior pure STR if this is your first time playing and you want a straightforward character with strong damage.

Choose Paladin STR + CON if you’d rather have more survivability and don’t mind playing at a slower pace.

Pick Assassin 2 AGI / 1 STR if you want high damage, critical hits, evasion, and faster dungeon clears.

There’s no need to follow these builds down to the exact last stat point. Zenonia 1 has only just returned, and there still isn’t a huge amount of information available about how every build performs in the current release.

For now, these recommendations are based on the experiences available from players and the builds that have been tested so far. As more people spend time with the game, we’ll likely get a better idea of which stat distributions and skill combinations are actually the strongest.

If you’ve found a Zenonia 1 build that works particularly well for you, let us know in the comments. It could help other players who are still trying to figure out where to spend their points.
