Star Sailors Tier List 2026 (Battle Partners) – Best Heroes

Jumping into Star Sailors, one thing becomes obvious pretty quickly – this isn’t the kind of gacha where one broken unit carries everything. The game leans heavily into team synergy through its Chain system, elemental interactions, and Time Traits. Because of that, most characters feel usable, but some clearly stand out for how much easier they make progression.

So instead of thinking in terms of “must-have or useless,” it’s better to see this tier list as a guide to who gives the most consistent value across story, bosses, and team building at the time of release.

S Tier

These are the characters that immediately make your life easier. They fit into many teams, perform well without heavy setup, and stay useful long term.

Jen – Fire Defender

Jen is one of those characters you feel grateful to pull early. She covers multiple roles at once: healing the team, reducing incoming damage, and even removing enemy buffs. That mix of survivability and control makes her incredibly reliable in almost every type of battle.

Heidi – Fire Attacker

Heidi thrives in debuff-focused teams. Her AoE damage hits extremely hard, especially when enemies are already weakened. Once your team starts applying debuffs consistently, she can clear waves faster than most attackers.

Nina – Earth Attacker

Nina is all about burst damage. She boosts her own Critical Rate and can unleash massive single-target hits, making her particularly strong against bosses or high-priority enemies.

Kaira – Light Supporter

Kaira fills a hybrid role that’s surprisingly valuable. She provides healing while also contributing meaningful damage, which makes her shine during longer boss fights where sustained output matters.

Iris – Light Attacker

Iris fits perfectly into crit-focused setups. She delivers strong single-target damage and synergizes well with teammates that support Critical Rate or crit-based bonuses.

A Tier

These characters may need a bit more setup or synergy, but they can still become core pieces in many lineups.

Erling – Water Defender

Erling brings excellent utility by lowering enemy resistance and reducing damage taken by allies. He isn’t flashy, but he makes teams far more stable, especially in tougher fights.

Gerbil – Light Debuffer

Gerbil excels at amplifying Chain effects while consistently applying debuffs. He works best in synergy-heavy teams where boosting overall damage matters more than raw personal output.

Solid Free Unit – Worth Building Early

Even though she isn’t a premium pull, she deserves attention.

Caroline – Fire Debuffer

Caroline performs very well against buff-heavy enemies. She can disrupt opposing setups and fits nicely into teams designed around control and debuff strategies.

How to Read This Tier List

Since Star Sailors is heavily team-focused, tiers don’t mean one character automatically outclasses another. Instead, higher tiers simply indicate:

• Greater flexibility in team building
• Stronger performance across multiple game modes
• Less reliance on specific synergy setups

Lower-tier units can still perform extremely well when paired with the right teammates.
