If you’ve been wondering where Sephiria’s story actually ends, Chapter 6 is the final chapter. It was added with the 1.0 release and completes the story with two new bosses, one mini-boss, and a proper ending with credits.
There’s one important thing I want to clear up before getting into the fights. Some early information mentioned a Chapter 7 or Astral Vault, but that content does not exist. Sephiria’s story ends with Chapter 6, so you don’t need to search the tower for another hidden story chapter after beating it.
Chapter 6 is also where your build really starts to matter. You can get away with an imperfect setup earlier in the climb, but the final encounters are much less forgiving.
Sephiria Chapter 6 & Final Boss Guide – Real Ending (1.0)
Getting into Chapter 6 itself is straightforward.
You need to complete Chapter 5 and defeat its boss. Chapter 6 then becomes the next part of your tower climb.
If you played during Early Access and already had an existing save when Sephiria 1.0 launched on July 31, you don’t need to start everything again. Your Early Access save carries over into the full release.
Before pushing further, though, I’d spend some time checking your build.
By Chapter 6, having a completed weapon upgrade line and a coherent Artifact/Tablet setup becomes much more important. The final encounters punish builds that don’t really have a clear direction.
Sephiria Chapter 6 Structure
Chapter 6 isn’t simply one long path followed by the final boss. There are multiple encounters leading into the ending.
| Segment | What You’ll Face |
|---|---|
| Mid-Chapter | One shorter, gimmick-focused mini-boss that introduces the chapter’s mechanics |
| Chapter Boss | One full boss encounter and the chapter’s main fight |
| Final Boss | The climax of the tower and the fight that unlocks the ending and credits |
That mini-boss is worth paying attention to rather than rushing through. Its mechanics help prepare you for what Chapter 6 expects from you later.
How the Sephiria Final Boss Fight Works
The final boss follows Sephiria’s usual bullet-hell-style combat, but things changed quite a bit with the 1.0.21 hotfix.
Before 1.0.21, one of the biggest problems with the encounter was its full-screen volleys. They weren’t properly telegraphed, which could make taking damage feel unavoidable.
That’s no longer the case.
Full-screen attacks are now properly telegraphed and can be blocked or dodged in all directions. The fight is still difficult, but you’re now given a proper opportunity to read and respond to its attacks.
And this is where one habit becomes particularly important:
Don’t try to dodge everything. Block.
When you see the boss entering its wind-up animation for an all-direction barrage, have your block ready. Following the 1.0.21 changes, blocking is one of the intended answers to these sequences.
Once you get used to recognizing those tells, the fight becomes much more manageable.
Look for Stagger Windows
The boss isn’t attacking continuously. There are stagger opportunities between its attack patterns, and those are your chances to turn defense into damage.
This is one reason Greatsword is such a popular option for the fight.
Its stagger chains work nicely with these openings. Rather than chasing the boss for constant damage, survive the incoming pattern, wait for your opportunity, and then punish during the opening.
If that aggressive approach isn’t comfortable for you, there’s another option.
Best Weapons for the Final Boss
Two weapons stand out for very different reasons:
| Weapon | Why Use It |
|---|---|
| Greatsword | Strong stagger chains that can punish openings between boss patterns |
| Crossbow | Safer ranged damage that lets you maintain distance during dangerous sequences |
Greatsword is the choice if you’re confident enough to take advantage of stagger windows.
Crossbow is the safer alternative if you’d rather maintain distance and focus more heavily on surviving the boss’s bullet patterns.
Neither approach changes the most important part of the encounter: learn the attack tell first, survive it, and then deal your damage.
Best Final Boss Preparation
I wouldn’t enter the final stretch simply because you’ve managed to reach Chapter 6. Take a minute to make sure the important parts of your build are actually ready.
| Prep | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Greatsword for stagger or Crossbow for safer ranged damage |
| Upgrade Line | Complete your weapon’s +4 upgrade line |
| Artifacts & Tablets | Use your strongest elemental synergy; Ice/Storm remains effective, while Fire is viable after the patch |
| Healing | Stock up before entering the boss gauntlet |
| Hard Mode | Prepare around modifiers that can restrict healing during boss encounters |
Healing deserves special attention.
Once you’re inside the Chapter 6 boss gauntlet, there are no recovery rooms, so don’t assume you’ll be able to fix a bad health situation between encounters.
Stock up before committing to the final stretch.
What Changed in Sephiria 1.0.21?
The 1.0.21 hotfix made several changes that directly affect Chapter 6 and other endgame fights.
| Change | Impact |
|---|---|
| Final Boss Telegraphing | Attacks are easier to read and react to |
| All-Direction Blocking | Full-screen barrages can now be properly blocked |
| Pillar Summoner HP -33% | The endgame summoner encounter takes considerably less time to kill |
| Full-Screen Attack Changes | Several Chapter 5–6 attacks can now be dodged or blocked properly |
| Blood Feast Party Scaling | Hard Mode co-op with three or four players is more manageable |
The final boss changes are probably the most noticeable.
Instead of dealing with attacks that feel impossible to predict, you’re now expected to recognize the telegraph and respond correctly. That doesn’t make the boss easy, but it does make learning the encounter much more rewarding.
Chapter 6 on Hard Mode
If you’re attempting Chapter 6 on Hard Mode, expect the final section to be significantly less forgiving.
One of the biggest problems comes from Tension, which prevents potion use during boss fights.
That changes your preparation completely.
You can’t walk into the final boss expecting to heal through mistakes. You need to arrive with your health situation already under control and rely more heavily on clean blocking, dodging, stagger opportunities, and the defensive parts of your build.
Hard Mode isn’t required for the story ending, though.
If your goal is simply to see how Sephiria’s story concludes, you don’t have to beat the final boss on Hard.
Sephiria Ending & What Happens After the Credits
Defeating the final boss triggers Sephiria’s ending and credits, completing the story arc that wasn’t available during Early Access.
And no, you aren’t supposed to unlock Chapter 7 afterward.
The story ends here.
Once the credits finish, Sephiria shifts back toward its endgame progression loop. You can continue with Hard Mode up to level 60, Artifact rerolling through the Mystic Pot, and gauntlet-style challenges.
So beating Chapter 6 finishes the main story, but it doesn’t mean you’ve finished everything Sephiria has to offer.
