Loftia Scrambled Coordinates Guide – Where to Find Them

on

In Loftia, Scrambled Coordinates are essential for launching your Adventures. You can obtain them by gathering from various resource nodes. In this guide, I’ll point out where to find them and how to complete Ryder’s introductory quest.

This information is based on the Steam Next Fest demo (October 19–26). You can carry over your progress into Early Access starting November 3, but keep in mind some details might change. Make sure to keep your game updated; after the October 21 patch, the drop rate for Scrambled Coordinates during Ryder’s quest has improved.

How to Get Scrambled Coordinates in Loftia

The primary way to obtain Scrambled Coordinates is by gathering resources. They tend to drop infrequently, which means you won’t get one every time you interact with a node.

  1. Complete the Permission to Glide quest, and then chat with Ryder. He’ll introduce you to the Adventures available at the Adventure Dock.
  2. Start gathering from easy nodes like Berry Bushes, Clay Mounds, and Tall Grass. Each has the potential to drop 1 coordinate.
  3. Continue collecting until you reach a total of 3, which is the requirement for Ryder’s first quest.

The drop rate for these coordinates has been boosted during this quest step following the October 21 update.

All Scrambled Coordinates Drop Sources

There are 13 total sources for Scrambled Coordinates, comprising 12 gathering nodes and the Daily Goodies Chest. Each source provides 1 coordinate upon a successful drop, but no specific drop rates have been confirmed yet, and there’s no indication that any single node is faster than the rest.

Source Type Coordinates
Berry Bush Gathering 1
Clay Mound Gathering (collectible by hand) 1
Tall Grass Gathering 1
Portobello Mushroom Gathering 1
Plastic Bottles Salvage 1
Tires Salvage 1
Wire Pile Salvage 1
Wooden Crates Salvage 1
Salvaging Crate Salvage 1
Salvaging Bucket Salvage 1
Old Microwave Salvage 1
Washing Machine Salvage 1
Daily Goodies Chest Daily chest 3–5

Remember, the Daily Goodies Chest will only start giving you coordinates once you have completed Ryder’s introductory Adventure quest. Don’t rely on it before then.

If you’re having trouble locating the nodes, the r/loftia subreddit features an interactive gathering map contributed by players, which can assist you in finding them more easily.

How to Complete Ryder’s Adventure Awaits! Quest

The Adventure Awaits! quest serves as an introduction to how Adventures function. To complete it, follow these steps:

Finish the Permission to Glide quest and talk to Ryder.

Gather 3 Scrambled Coordinates by collecting resources.

Present the coordinates to the Adventurer, not Ryder. This distinction can confuse players; in fact, a Steam thread titled “Show Coordinates to Ryder?” emerged during the demo.

Complete the Adventure journey.

Return with the island data.

As a reward, you’ll receive 15 Scrambled Coordinates, enough for 5 more Adventures.

How to Buy Scrambled Coordinates From Cella

You also have the option to purchase Scrambled Coordinates. Cella’s Key Shop offers them for 30 Dew each, but you’ll first need to unlock the related side quest titled The Real Treasure.

Each Adventure requires 3 coordinates, which totals 90 Dew. You won’t need to visit the shop for Ryder’s initial quest, as this one requires you to gather them personally.

What Are Scrambled Coordinates Used For?

Scrambled Coordinates are used to enter Adventures, with each costing 3 coordinates. These adventures occur on Research Islands featuring timed challenges.

Keep in mind that the Adventure map changes each time, with objects appearing in different locations. Teaming up with friends can enhance the experience, especially since some tasks require two players, although there’s plenty you can accomplish solo.

A special thank you to Dreams with Jam for providing all the screenshots in this fantastic walkthrough.
