Hero Stars
Each star of a hero unlocks an improvement in their respective abilities, so your hero becomes stronger with each star and also receives additional attributes with each partial star (1/5) that is unlocked. The increase in attributes is approx. 8% per partial star (5 in one star) on HP, defence and attack. With each star, the maximum skill level also increases.

The fourth star is the best star because it doesnβt just increase attributes and skills like any other, but also unlocks a passive ability!
Expertise: Super sensing
+ 20% HP
+ 20% ATK
+ 20% DEF
+ 10% CD reduction
For this reason, especially with the main squad, care should be taken to ensure that before a hero is promoted to 5-stars, all other heroes already have 4-stars. The number of skill medals and the number of shards required increase dramatically after 4 stars. I also recommend levelling the skills of all available squads, as these have an enormous influence in combat.
Stars
There is no point in having a 5-star hero if the abilities have not first reached the maximum of a 4-star heroβ
With the fifth star, the respective hero unlocks the honour levels in the wall of honour in the corresponding building. Each milestone, i.e. the levels Lv.50/Lv.100/Lv.150/Lv.200/Lv.250/Lv.300/Lv.350/Lv.400 , unlock an additional percentage of an specified attribute bonus. Each individual level from 1 to 400 also increases the attributes of all the same troop heroes (tanks, aircraft and rocket launchers) by +100 health points.

Lv. 250 = +0.25% HP/ATK/DEF or Troop Load

Hero Abilities:
The individual skills, four in number, have certain functions that are always the same depending on the specialization of the individual hero, SSR can also increase plunder cap.
ABILITY TOP RIGHT = This ability increases each heroβs base attacks.
ABILITY TO LEFT = This ability increases the combat power or defence of the active ability, which always has a cooldown when used.
ABILITY BOTTOM LEFT = This passive ability increases depending on the heroβs specialization, the damage reduction (defensive, protective shield), the damage increase (offensive, explosive symbol) or for supporting heroes (hospital cross) it increases the attributes (buff, blessing ) or reduce the cooldown time or the rewards (Monica).
ABILITY BOTTOM RIGHT = This ability was already mentioned above and increases health, attack and defence by +20%. Likewise, this passive ability reduces the cooldown time of the active ability (top right ability).
ABILITY PRIORITY FOR EACH TYPE:
Defenders: Top right > Bottom left > Top left
Reason: The auto-attack is the most irrelevant ability for a defender since his primary role is to take damage.
Attackers: Top right > Top left > Bottom left
Reason: The boost from the passive ability (left bottom) increases the number of damage dealt less than the auto-attack. Any attacker is primarily dealing damage.
Supporters: Bottom left > Top right > Top left
Reason: The ability on the bottom is the most valuable for supporters like Marshall and Monica, followed closely from the active ability on the top right. Any supporter is primarily buffing the squad rather than dealing or taking damage.
Please note that there are also heroes whose abilities only apply to PvE (Player versus Environment). These abilities only increase damage or protection against NPCβs (Non Player Characters). I recommend not using these heroes in any main squad and only for practical use in a secondary or tertiary squad, as their usefulness is limited.
