Skill Chip changes:
Adjusted from Shared Stat gain to Individual Squad Stat gain
Universal Leveling of Skill Chips instead of Individual
Combat Boost Added for Shared Stat Gain (replaces old mechanic but same method)
Added Chip Lab to Craft Skill Chips for these Individual Squads
Breakdown:
Your Skill Chip Ascension remains the same and the same method with the same
requirements. Gold UR Skill Chips are your best source of Power + their Ascension tiers
(star level)
Skill Chip Reset has been moved to the (Chip Lab) with the same methodology as previous one,
which is a new Building accessible to everyone. Your previous Skill Chip presets unlock
after Combat Boost Lv10.
Combat Boost is essentially a duplicate of the Drone XP itself with a more clearly defined
process that levels the Individual Chips themselves on a General Leveling Scale, For Example
if your Combat Boost is Lv20 – means all your Skill Chips are now Lv20 as well. Combat
Boost XP is obtainable via Unused Skill Chips and purchasable under the Drone Combat
Boost Pack in the Combat Boost Tab of the Drone Base
Crafting Materials to Craft Skill chips are obtainable via VS rewards and the current
“Combat Boost Starter Mission” [23OCT24] but may in the future have other avenues to
obtain.
Ideally, you want Same Faction Skill Chips, however, a UR Skill Chip will offer more Stat
than a purple Skill Chip even if it’s the wrong Faction. Your trade-off is losing the Chipset
The skill that is entirely dependent on your individual needs.
Last War Drone Skill Chips Guide – Upgrade Components
During the first week of availability, there is a launch event for Drone Skill Chips to bring you the first crates containing ability chips. The event lasts for seven days, and each day there are different items provided at no cost.
- Day 1: 1 Epic Skill Chip Selection Chest
- Day 2: 1 Epic Skill Chip Chest
- Day 3: 5 Skill Chip Upgrade Components
- Day 4: 1 Epic Skill Chip Selection Chest
- Day 5: 1 Epic Skill Chip Chest
- Day 6: 5 Skill Chip Upgrade Components
- Day 7: 3 Epic Skill Chip Chests
Collect these every day and store them in your inventory. Opening the chests will earn you points for the VS Alliance Duel.
Sources for Chests and Other Components
Common Skill Chip Chests
These chests can contain a chip of uncommon (65% chance), SR (30% chance), SSR (4.8% chance), or Legendary (0.2% chance) quality when opened. In the Campaign Shop, you can get up to 20 per week for 300 Campaign Points each.
Rare Skill Chip Chests
These chests can contain a chip of SR (68% chance), SSR (30% chance), or Legendary (2% chance) quality when opened. In the Alliance Shop, you can get up to 5 per week for 4000 Alliance Points each. An additional 10 per week are available in the VIP Shop for 800 diamonds each.
Epic Skill Chip Chests
These chests can contain a chip of SSR (85% chance) or Legendary (15% chance) quality when opened. In the Campaign Shop, you can get 1 per week for 10,000 Campaign Points.
Legendary Skill Chip Chests
These chests contain a chip of legendary (100% chance) quality. In the Honor Shop, you can get 1 per month for 10,000 Honor Points.
Common Skill Chip Upgrade Components
These provide 1,000 experience points for upgrading ability chips.
Epic Skill Chip Upgrade Components
These provide 10,000 experience points for upgrading ability chips. You can purchase 5 per week for 2000 Alliance Points each in the Alliance Shop.

Chests and VS Alliance Duel
Opening chests always earns points for the Alliance Duel on Mondays, so keep the chests closed in your inventory and wait until Monday to open them. The points are based on ability points.
- Common Skill Chip Chests = 1 Skill Point
- Rare Skill Chip Chests = 5 Skill Points
- Epic Skill Chip Chests = 30 Skill Points
- Epic Skill Chip Selection Chests = 30 Skill Points
- Legendary Skill Chip Chests = 100 Skill Points
For each ability point earned by opening, you get 2000 points for the VS Alliance Duel. Additionally, after reaching 900 ability points, you will receive another legendary ability chip chest.
There are no points awarded for opening during the Arms Race, so you can do this at any time on Monday.
What Types of Skill Chips Exist?
Skill chips are divided into three attributes.
Quality
The quality of the chips is divided into four types:
- Green = R = uncommon
- Blue = SR = rare
- Purple = SSR = epic
- Orange = UR = legendary
The goal should also be to obtain legendary quality, but lower qualities are also useful as they can be used to upgrade higher qualities, so don’t hesitate to acquire the lower qualities as well.
Type
There are four types of ability chips.
First Movement Skill
This type gives your troops a shield at the beginning of the battle, which absorbs a certain amount of damage over a certain period of time. The higher the quality of the chip, the higher the absorbed damage and the duration of the shield. Additionally, the effect extends to more heroes: at lower quality only the front row, at higher quality all 5 heroes.
Attack Skill
This type increases the attack of the rear row at lower quality, and the number of drone attacks at higher quality.
Interference Skill
After a drone attack, your rear-row heroes’ damage increases for a certain period of time. As the chip quality increases, the duration and damage increase as well.
Defense Skill
At the beginning of the battle, your front-row heroes receive a defense boost, which becomes stronger and lasts longer as the chip quality increases. Additionally, this defense also extends to the rear row.
Hero Type
While common and rare ability chips can be used regardless of hero type, epic and legendary ability chips have additional bonuses for specific hero types. Thus, each chip is available in versions for tanks, planes, and rocket vehicles.
All drone ability chips can be combined into a skill chip set. Each ability requires a corresponding skill chip to be added to the set.
Can it get more complicated? Of course. A set of ability chips specifically designed for tanks makes little sense for an artillery team. To avoid constantly switching chips back and forth, the ability chips can be divided into up to four sets, with each set assigned to a specific team.
When that team enters battle, the corresponding set is automatically selected. The first set is free, the second can be unlocked for 2000 diamonds, the third for 10,000 diamonds, and the fourth for 50,000 diamonds. Start saving.
Which Skill Chips Should I Invest in Now?
It’s not an easy question, as it depends heavily on the composition of your teams. Generally, I assume that everyone has a tank team, a plane team, and a rocket team. This is the usual setup and makes selecting the appropriate ability chips easier, as there are no complex calculations involved.
At the same time, we can assume that the tank team is currently the strongest team, so we should also invest there. The problem, however, is that only with selection chests do we have the option to choose the type of ability chip; all other chips are received randomly. Therefore, it’s very important to make the right choice when opening selection chests.
Once you have decided on the hero type, the question arises as to which ability type you should choose first, and there is a clear order based on the strength of the chips:
- First Movement Skill
- Defense Skill
- Attack Skill
- Interference Skill
How Do I Upgrade a Skill Chip?
Upgrades are carried out in two different ways. On the one hand, there is the star level, which increases the tactical drone’s abilities. Here, the chip to be promoted is combined with other chips of the same type. This is very similar to the drone components as well.
Another way to improve the ability chips is to increase the level. This can be done in two ways. On the one hand, other ability chips of the same type can be used to gain a lot of level points, on the other hand, the ability chip upgrade components can be used. These only bring 10,000 points, while the use of other chips brings much more. Always pay attention to how the level change affects the result.
Also, be careful not to accidentally use a chip for leveling that you still need for another team.
Always open chests on Mondays. Gather all the chests you can find. When it comes to selection chests, decide which chip type you want for which hero type.
Always start with the movement ability, then the defense ability, and then the other two in any order. Perform chip upgrades and always be careful not to use anything that you still need in another squad.
