Your Kagune is the moment your character stops feeling weak and starts feeling dangerous. Until you unlock it, every fight feels slow, awkward, and risky. Once you get it, the game finally opens up.
How To Unlock Your Kagune & Moveset in Tokyo RE
This guide walks you through exactly how to unlock your Kagune, raise your RC, and get your first real moveset.
Step One – Become a Ghoul and Start Working
When you create your character, choose Ghoul.
Complete the small tutorial fight and talk to Takashi.
After that, find the mission NPC near the field area and take your first job.
These missions are not just for XP.
They are how you raise your RC — which is the key to unlocking your Kagune.
Step Two – Understand RC Cells
Hold Z to see your RC.
You need 1,000 RC to unlock your Kagune.
RC increases when you eat defeated enemies.
After killing an enemy:
Hold B
Finish them
Hold B + Middle Mouse to eat
Eating gives you RC and heals you.
Only Ghoul and CCG-type enemies give RC.
Thugs and cuffed NPCs do not.
Step Three – Farm RC Safely
The safest way is to keep taking missions.
You will fight CCG agents and Ghouls regularly, and both give RC.
Do not gank real players early.
Focus on missions so you gain RC, levels, and gear together.
Step Four – Unlock Your Kagune
Once your RC reaches 1,000, an icon appears at the top of your screen.
Click it, choose your Kagune type, and confirm.
To use it:
Hold Z to close your eyes
Right click to activate Kagune
Press X for the summon animation
Now your character has real combat power.
Step Five – Get Your Moveset
Right now, your Kagune only has basic attacks.
To unlock real skills, you must visit Kagune Trainers.
Each Kagune has its own trainer that sells your abilities.
You pay money and meet stat requirements to unlock them.
Once unlocked:
Press M → Ghoul
Equip your skills
Set your hotbar
This is when your Kagune becomes deadly.
Do not rush into PvP without your Kagune and moves.
Farm RC through missions.
Unlock your skills early.
Invest your stats properly.
Once you have your Kagune and moveset, Tokyo:RE finally becomes the game it is meant to be.
