How to Unlock Drifter in Risk of Rain 2 Alloyed Collective

The Drifter is one of the hidden Alloyed Collective characters, and unlocking them involves exploring a short but easy-to-miss path that appears after the boss fight. This guide explains the full route step-by-step so you can obtain the required items and complete the encounter without trial and error.

Step 1: Finish the Alloyed Collective Boss

Once the boss is defeated, the arena doesn’t immediately end. Two new paths open on the far side of the zone. The route you need begins on the right side of the portal, leading upward along a narrow ridge.

Step 2: Climb Up and Clear the Upper Area

Follow the slope until you reach a raised platform with a small skirmish waiting for you. Clear the enemies so you can safely look around.
Beneath this platform is the first chest you must open. Inside is a special cube required for the Drifter unlock.

Step 3: Locate the Second Chest

Continue following the cliffside. A little farther out, you’ll find a lone platform hanging near the edge of the map.
Jump onto this platform to reach the second chest, which contains an identical cube. Even if you lack mobility boosts, the jump is manageable with careful footing.

Step 4: Prepare for the Ambush

With both cubes in hand, return toward the portal.
As soon as you get close, a shadow version of MUL-T appears and attacks. Defeat this shadow enemy to progress. It hits hard but goes down quickly if you maintain distance and avoid standing still.

Step 5: Use the Cubes at the Locked Terminal

Once the ambush is cleared, head to the left side of the portal. There is a sealed corridor with a terminal placed beside it.
Interact with the terminal and insert both cubes. Doing this unlocks the barrier and instantly adds the Drifter to your survivor list.

The entire process is short once you know where each chest is located. The real challenge is simply spotting the correct route after the boss falls. Follow the steps above and you’ll be able to unlock the Drifter reliably in every run.
