Step 1: Understand How Sea 1 Differs from Sea 2
First things first—Sea 1 and Sea 2 have completely different animal pools. So if you’ve already completed the bestiary in Sea 2, don’t expect to see the same creatures here. The mechanics are similar, but the fish types and spawn zones are different.
Step 2: Spawn Your Boat
To get started:
- Head into Sea 1.
- Spawn your boat, just like you would in Sea 2.
The boat is necessary because the animal pools you’re looking for don’t appear on land—they spawn randomly in the water, and you’ll need to sail to them.
Know How Animal Pools Work
Here’s how these special fishing zones behave:
- Animal pools spawn randomly and only last for 5 minutes.
- You cannot use Sunder Totems to force their appearance. That trick doesn’t work here.
- After the 5 minutes are up, the pool disappears—whether you caught everything or not.
- So if you miss a fish, you’ll have to wait for the pool to spawn again and try from scratch.
Step 4: Search Around Terrapin Island

Head to Terrapin Island.
According to multiple players (and confirmed in the video), the animal pools in Sea 1 tend to spawn around Terrapin Island. That’s your best bet. Just sail around the island’s perimeter and keep your eyes open.
Step 5: Wait for the Spawn (Be Patient)
Animal pools don’t spawn instantly, and there’s no exact timer, but here’s what we know:
They spawn randomly, but some players report that they may appear every 7 minutes (this is a theory, not confirmed).
So you might have to wait a few minutes.
Stay near Terrapin Island, keep moving, and give it some time.
Step 6: Turn On Fish Radar
This is crucial.
Go into your settings and turn ON the fish radar.
Once the animal pool spawns, it will show up as a massive orange square on your radar/map.
This makes it way easier to track the location and rush there before it despawns.
Step 7: Catch Everything in the Pool
Once you find the animal pool:
You have 5 minutes to catch every fish inside. Catching all the fish will log them in your Bestiary.
Miss one? Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait for another spawn and try again.
