The Seed Stages Update is now live in Grow a Garden, and it’s one of the largest updates the game has received. This patch introduces a new Season Pass system, evolvable seeds, new pets, and progression mechanics tied to how your plants grow over time.
If you’re wondering what’s new, how the new seeds work, and whether the premium pass is worth it — this Grow a Garden Seed Stages Update breaks it all down in detail.
1. Season Pass System
The update adds a Season Pass with two tracks:
- Free Season Pass
- Premium Season Pass (Cost: 1,000 Robux)
Free Season Pass Rewards
By completing quests, free players can unlock:
- Pets like Mazoi and Blue Jay
- Seeds such as Fireworks
- Cosmetics
- Silver Dragonfly
The free track is generous and includes multiple pets and rewards that enhance your garden’s progress.
Premium Season Pass Rewards
The premium track offers:
- Giant versions of pets (like the Giant Firefly)
- Extra cosmetics and progression bonuses
However, based on the creator’s impressions, the premium pass might not be worth the price unless you’re specifically chasing giant pets or collecting everything.
2. New Transcendent Seed: Crimson Thorn
A new transcendent-tier seed has been introduced: the Crimson Thorn.
- Base Value: 210
- Base Weight: 6 kg
This seed outperforms Bone Blossom, making it one of the best-selling plants currently in the game. You can purchase it directly from the Seed Shop.
Compared to other seeds like Maple Resin (base value: 190), the Crimson Thorn is the top choice for profit and efficiency.
3. Jungle Egg Pets Overview
Several new pets are available in the Jungle Egg, each with a unique passive. Here’s what they do:
Hummingbird – Seed Disperser
Every 15–60 seconds, converts a random harvested plant into its seed equivalent
Works similarly to the Reclaimer
Tree Frog – Mini Croak
Every 3 minutes, advances the growth of a random plant by 15 minutes
Iguana – Sunbas
Every 80 seconds, selects a fruit with a frozen mutation and downgrades it to chilled or wet
Considered a negative effect, possibly making this pet more harmful than helpful
Chimpanzee – Primate Profit
Every 3 minutes, selects a random fruit and sells it automatically
Has a 2% chance to not collect the fruit
Tiger – Overpowered Utility
Roar (13 min cooldown): Calls all pets to the tiger and shares XP across your garden
King of the Jungle (8 min cooldown): Replaces 3 random mutations in your garden with new ones
Easily one of the strongest and most useful pets in this update
4. Seed Stage Evolution System
The core mechanic introduced in this update is the seed stage system.
How It Works:
Buy evolvable seeds from the Seed Shop (e.g. Evil Pumpkin, Evil Mushroom)
Evolve these seeds through stages: Stage 1 → 2 → 3 → 4
Each stage requires materials or gear, such as:
- Basic Sprinklers
- Reclaimers
- Event Lanterns
- Toys
Benefits of Evolving Seeds:
- Increased plant health
- Faster growth rate
- Bigger size multipliers
- Higher sell value
In short, the more you evolve a seed, the more powerful and profitable it becomes. This system is the centerpiece of the update.
5. New Seeds List
The update adds a large batch of new seeds, including transcendent and rare types. While the full list wasn’t verbally detailed in the video, all new seeds were displayed visually with their base prices and base weights.
You can find these seeds in the Seed Shop, and many are tied to seasonal or jungle-themed content.
6. New Weathers (Admin Abuse Preview)
Two upcoming weathers were previewed via the Admin Abuse testing:
Strobe Party Weather
- Likely cosmetic in nature
- Includes flashing visual effects (as seen in preview)
Midas Rain
- Increases your chances of spawning Gilded Fruit
- Useful for high-value harvests and gold-based challenges
These weather systems may appear in public servers soon and could play a bigger role in future event rotations.
This is one of the most impactful updates Grow a Garden has received, especially for long-term progression players. The new seed stage evolution mechanic finally gives you a reason to stick with specific plants and invest resources into upgrading them.
The Season Pass is a solid addition, with the free track offering good value. The premium rewards are decent, but not essential unless you’re a completionist or heavy spender.
The Crimson Thorn is now the go-to seed for profit, and the Tiger pet stands out as the most powerful new companion due to its team-wide XP and mutation reset passives.
