Grow a Garden Ghoul Garden Halloween 2025 Update Guide

1. The Witch’s Cauldron Event

Once you load into the Halloween update, your first stop should be the new Witch NPC located in the central event area. She’s running a cauldron-based community event where players collectively contribute plants to brew her spooky concoction.

Each time you offer plants to her cauldron, you’ll receive Candy Corn and Spooky Eggs as rewards. Candy Corn is the brand-new event currency used in this update, and you’ll be collecting quite a lot of it to unlock other features.

There’s a two-minute cooldown between submissions, and since this is a server-wide event, teaming up with others can help fill the cauldron faster. Players can even coordinate through communities or Discord to maximize their candy farming efficiency.

2. Candy Corn and the Halloween Market

Candy Corn is the central currency of the Halloween event. You’ll spend it primarily in the Halloween Market, which appears every hour when the in-game timer resets.

When the Halloween Night begins, several new NPCs appear — each tied to unique items, cosmetics, or lore. There’s even a mysterious ghostly NPC that hints at something deeper in the game’s world, mentioning a “Heart Seed” that players haven’t quite figured out yet.

In the Devilish Décor Shop, run by Isac, you’ll find limited-time Halloween-themed items like the Pumpkin Crate, Tombstone, Casket, and Skull Chain cosmetics. Some of these cosmetics weren’t active at the time of the update’s initial release, but the devs have confirmed they’ll be patched in soon.

3. The Jack-o’-Lantern Event

Every 90 minutes, the Jack-o’-Lantern NPC rises from the ground for a limited 5-minute appearance. When active, players can submit Halloween-exclusive plants to him for bonus Candy Corn. Submitting regular crops doesn’t count — and if you try, he’ll give you a little fright for your trouble.

There’s also a Robux-based scare feature that triggers a screen-wide jumpscare for nearby players, though it was still being fine-tuned at the time of the event’s launch.

4. The New Pets and Their Abilities

This update introduces some of the most creative pets yet, each with unique effects that interact with your garden. Here’s a full list:

Common to Rare Pets

Bat – Boosts the variant chance for nearby spooky plants by 0.69× in a 32-stud radius. A niche pet, useful if you’re chasing rare versions of spooky crops.

Bone Dog – Every 80 seconds, it has a 15% chance to dig up a random seed. If event seeds are included in the loot pool, this pet could become a hidden gem.

Spider – Every 8 minutes, it spins a web that lasts 10 seconds. Pets on the web get faster cooldown recovery, and plants grow 15 seconds faster per second. Surprisingly powerful in larger setups.

Epic and Event Pets

Black Cat – A spiritual successor to the Moon Cat. Every 4 minutes, it naps near the witch’s cauldron, giving nearby fruits a 1.11× size boost. Not quite as efficient as the original Moon Cat, but still a strong substitute for players who missed it.

Pumpkin Rat – Every 7 minutes, it transforms pumpkins into Jack-o’-Lantern cosmetics. There are five collectible facial variants — a fun collectible rather than a meta-focused pet.

Wolf – Every 4 minutes, roots within a 20-stud radius can receive the Moonlet mutation, transforming the player into a werewolf for 35 seconds. The transformation boosts movement speed and jump height — one of the most visually striking features of the update.

Ghost Bear – Every 18 minutes, it “haunts” a nearby fruit, applying the new Spooky Mutation, which alters plant appearance and stats.

Reaper – The rarest pet from the Halloween shop. Every 22 minutes, it sacrifices four fruits to give a random pet a medium XP or passive boost. Slow, but valuable for passive progression.

Mythic Pet

Headless Horseman – The crown jewel of this update. Every 30 minutes, it “haunts” a random pet, resetting its level and granting one of four Chaotic Mutations: Dreadbound, Soulflame, Spectral, or the ultra-rare Nightmare mutation. The exact effects of these mutations are still being discovered, but they’re expected to have significant gameplay impact.

5. New Events and Mutations

Alongside the Halloween pets, several new world events and mutations were added:

Full Moon Event – Temporarily increases the odds of obtaining the Bloodlet mutation. The Wolf pet, fittingly, doesn’t gain any extra bonuses here — though many players are hoping that changes in future updates.

Bat Attack Event – A swarm of bats fills the sky, granting nearby fruits the Vamp mutation. The event’s visuals are stunning and add a strong Halloween atmosphere to your garden.

Ghostly Mutation – Introduced through the Great Pumpkin seed (see below). It gives plants a transparent, ethereal look and increases their value dramatically.

6. New Seeds and Crops

The Ghoul Garden update brings several limited-time crops — all of which will disappear once the event ends. Here’s a breakdown of their values and behaviors:

Seed Type Notes Approx. Value
Blood Red Mushroom Multi-harvest Easy to grow, regenerates after harvest ~22,000 shekels
Jack-o’-Lantern Multi-harvest Decorative Halloween plant ~30,000 shekels
Gold Root Multi-harvest High-yield event plant ~50,000 shekels
Chicken Feet Single harvest High-value, strange design ~123,000 shekels
Sear Vine Multi-harvest One of the most profitable Halloween plants ~140,000 shekels
Poison Apple Prismatic Rare event crop with high base price ~100,000–190,000 shekels
Great Pumpkin (Transcendent) Ultra-rare Long growth time, ghostly mutation ability ~288,000 shekels

The Great Pumpkin is the star of the update — a transcendent seed that not only sells for an enormous amount but also generates Ghostly Mutations in nearby plants every five minutes. These ghostly plants can be worth over 2 million shekels, depending on your luck and garden setup.

7. Other System Changes

Tier 2 Seeds Removed – The old Tier 2 system has been retired, replaced with a Daily Deal system that rotates available seeds every 24 hours.

Broccoli and other legacy seeds now appear as part of these daily rotations. This keeps the seed pool fresh and encourages players to check back each day.

8. Tips for Maximizing the Event

Coordinate for Cauldron Fills: Since the Witch’s event is community-based, private servers or Discord groups help ensure faster progress and more Candy Corn per session.

Save Candy Corn for Pets: The Reaper and Headless Horseman are the main long-term value purchases. Cosmetics look great, but the pets have lasting gameplay benefits.

Focus on Great Pumpkin Early: The longer it grows in your garden, the more Ghostly Mutations it can generate, which leads to massive long-term profit.

Check Daily Market: Some seeds and pets rotate quickly. Always visit the Halloween market when it spawns hourly to avoid missing limited items.

The Ghoul Garden Halloween Update for Grow a Garden is easily one of the richest seasonal expansions in Roblox this year. It blends event mechanics, collectible cosmetics, and genuine progression depth in a way that keeps players busy for hours.

Between the lore teases surrounding the “Heart Seed,” the powerful Great Pumpkin mechanics, and the sheer creativity behind the new pets, this update feels like a major milestone for the game’s world-building.

If you’re aiming to make the most of this event, focus on farming Candy Corn, unlocking the Great Pumpkin as early as possible, and testing out the new pets’ abilities in combination. Everything here is limited-time — and once Halloween ends, these spooky rewards may never return.
