FISCH Blue Moon Update Guide – New Fisch, Codes
What Is the Blue Moon Event?
The Blue Moon is a seasonal, limited-time event that only occurs during winter nights in the game. When it’s active, your screen will turn a bright blue hue, and you’ll see a notification saying “There is a Blue Moon in the sky.”
- Only happens at night during the winter season
- Triggers access to new secret areas in both Sea 1 and Sea 2
- Includes new fish, a secret Moon Idol, and exclusive buffs
- Duration: The Moon Idol effect lasts 24 hours, even across seas
How To Access the Blue Moon Area
In Sea 2:
- Head to the back of the Shipwright location.
- Look for a door on a ledge, which appears only during a Blue Moon.
- Enter the area to find the Blue Moon Totem (costs 500,000 currency).
- Inside, you’ll discover new fish, a secret fish, and a permanent best spot.
In Sea 1:
- Travel to Snow Cap.
- Climb to the second level using nearby platforms.
- Enter a tucked-away door to access the Blue Moon zone.
- Again, it’s a permanent best area with new fish and another Moon Idol.
All New Fish in Blue Moon Areas
Each Sea has its own unique lineup of fish exclusive to the Blue Moon zones. Here’s what you can expect:
What Is the Moon Idol?
The Moon Idol is technically not a fish, but a rare catchable item that grants your character temporary buffs when caught during a Blue Moon:
Moon Idol Buffs (lasts 24 hours):
- Crescent Moon icon floats above your character
- Blue particle effect around your avatar
- +50% XP from fish
- +10% chance to double fish weight
- +5% chance to gain Moonissed Mutation (visual + minor sell boost)
Works across both seas. Catch in Sea 1, use in Sea 2, and vice versa. ou’ll be kicked out of the Blue Moon zone once nighttime ends.
Double XP Weekend Bonus
- Alongside this update, there’s a Double XP Event happening:
- Shows in the bottom-left corner of the screen
- Helps you grind to level 2500 faster
- Perfect for pairing with the Moon Idol’s extra 50% XP boost
- So with the Moon Idol + Double XP, you’re stacking 150% total XP boost for fishing!
New Quests Added (Sea 1 + Sea 2)
A bunch of new quests have been scattered across the map, with a full list shared by dev “Nick” in the FISCH testing Discord. Here’s a breakdown of what’s confirmed:
Sea 1:
- Roslet Bay – NPC: Lineback
- Grand Reef (Pirate Ship) – NPC: Harris
- Moosewood Stu – Quest: Message in a Bottle
Sea 2:
- Pine Scholes – NPC: Spory
- Wavebor – Multiple quests (exact NPCs unnamed)
- Isles of New Beginnings
- “New Bait” Quest – Location currently unknown
Rewards aren’t too impressive yet, but that could change in future updates. Some speculate completing all quests might unlock a future reward.
Secret Quest – Message in a Bottle
- Located in Moosewood (Sea 1):
- Interact with a highlighted bottle on the dock.
- It reads: “Travel to Rosa and pick up a crate.”
- Likely part of a longer questline.

The shop has 3 limited-time Rod Skins:
- Eternal Shears Rod – Giant scissor design
- Forgotten Fang Rod – Skin: Forgotten Serpent
