Fire Force Reignition Ability Tier List
Benimaru (S-Tier)
Benimaru is a fiery powerhouse with two completely different fighting styles. In his normal stance, he’s a close-range brawler with explosive attacks and stylish combos. Once you activate Broom Stance, he becomes faster, more unpredictable, and gains ranged tools that keep enemies guessing.
Devil’s Footprint (S-Tier)
Devil’s Footprint is easily one of the strongest abilities in the game, both in PvE and PvP. What makes it so powerful is its exceptional mobility—allowing players to quickly close gaps, escape pressure, or reposition for optimal combos. Its hitboxes are also tough to predict, which gives a huge edge during duels. Although many new players misuse it due to its fast pace and skill ceiling, anyone with experience can turn it into a nightmare for opponents. If mastered, this ability gives you an aggressive and evasive playstyle that’s hard to counter.
2. Lightning (A+/S-Tier)
Lightning is an explosive ability with high combo potential and strong offensive pressure. It becomes especially powerful in endgame builds due to its synergy with high mana stats. Although it requires good resource management since it consumes a lot of energy, it rewards skilled players with fast, chainable attacks and a lot of ragdoll combos. It’s great for both PVE boss fights and PvP duels where burst damage matters.
3. Grand Hands (A-Tier)
Grand Hands is a reliable and well-rounded choice for players who like consistent knockbacks and ragdoll effects. It performs excellently in PvP, offering solid spacing and combo opportunities, while also handling PvE enemies effectively. It might not have the flashiest moves, but it’s dependable and strong in most situations, especially when paired with aggressive melee playstyles.
4. Explosion (A-Tier)
Explosion is an extremely fun and effective ability, especially for players who love fast-paced, in-your-face combat. Its moves are easy to combo and allow for smooth chaining of attacks, making it a top-tier choice for PvP. On top of that, its synergy with augment effects and M1 (basic melee) buffs makes it even more deadly. It’s also decent in PvE, especially for taking down groups with splash damage.
5. Excalibur (A-Tier)
Excalibur strikes a balance between range, combo potential, and utility. It modifies your M1s (basic attacks) to match the sword style, which lets your augment effects apply directly with every swing. This opens up a lot of creative builds. Whether you’re slicing through mobs or facing off in a duel, Excalibur is a strong, versatile choice for players who prefer a sword-based style with decent AoE and reliable power.
6. Ice Trumpet (A-Tier)
Ice Trumpet stands out due to its powerful stun potential and good zoning capabilities. While it doesn’t excel in raw damage compared to others, it allows for smart, controlling gameplay. If you’re someone who enjoys reading opponents and punishing them, Ice Trumpet gives you the tools to control the flow of battle. It also works well in PvE against slower enemies, letting you freeze and chip them down safely.
7. Sakura (A-Tier)
Sakura is a visually beautiful ability with solid performance in both game modes. It’s commonly debated between A and S tier due to its diversity and effectiveness across various builds. Its toolkit provides good combo setups, decent utility, and flashy finishers. It may not always dominate in raw stats, but its consistency makes it a favorite among many skilled players.
8. Nova (A-Tier)
Nova is a strong option but slightly outshined by Excalibur, Grand Hands, and Lightning in the current meta. It has decent damage and movement options but doesn’t bring as much combo depth or burst as the top-tier picks. Still, it’s reliable and can shine with the right augment and playstyle, especially if you enjoy flashy aerial combat.
9. Big Guts (A-Tier)
Big Guts is arguably the best Gen 1 ability. It becomes especially powerful when combined with the Berserker subclass, though even without that, it hits hard. It’s ideal for players who like close-quarters brawling and can time their attacks well. While it lacks finesse, it makes up for it with sheer power and pressure, making it a deadly PvP tool and decent for PvE as well.
10. Guns (High B to Low A-Tier)
Guns is a surprisingly solid ability despite seeming simple. It modifies your M1s to shoot bullets, giving you better range and a new playstyle. It has a few stun abilities and allows for spacing out opponents, which is useful if you struggle with close combat. It’s slightly awkward to master in PvP but works great in PvE, especially for cheesing enemies from a distance.
11. Die Fist (High B to A-Tier)
Die Fist focuses on enhancing your basic melee damage and allows for aggressive combo-based gameplay. It feels natural for players who are always pressing forward and looking to chain hits. It’s not as flashy as Lightning or Explosion, but it works well and is very satisfying to use in PvP, especially if you’re a fan of pure hand-to-hand combat.
12. Sputters (B-Tier)
Sputters are fun to use but a bit one-dimensional. In PvE, they’re great for cheesing enemies with hit-and-run tactics. In PvP, however, they tend to fall short unless you’re in a perfect 1v1 scenario. Their cooldowns are long, and the kit encourages a hit-and-run style that’s hard to maintain in chaotic fights.
13. Axe and Gun (Mid B-Tier)
Axe and Gun is the most average ability in the game. It doesn’t do anything particularly poorly, but it also doesn’t stand out in any way. It offers midrange combat and okay combo tools, which makes it functional but forgettable. If you’re just starting out and don’t know what style you like yet, this ability gives you a bit of everything to test.
14. Shield (Low B-Tier)
Shield is a tanky, defense-first ability that doesn’t really shine unless you’re in a fair 1v1 fight. It can soak up some hits and reduce pressure in PvP, but it lacks the offensive firepower and combo potential of better abilities. In team fights or PvE, it’s hard to carry with Shield since you’ll mostly just survive longer without doing much back.
15. Pike (Mid B-Tier)
Pike is a slight improvement over Shield but still very mid-tier. It gives you a few more offensive options, and it feels better overall in fights, but it’s still limited by being a Gen 1 ability. It’s usable and fine for early gameplay but starts to fall behind once you face more experienced opponents or tougher PvE content.
16. Rifle (Low B-Tier)
Rifle is a long-range ability that’s mostly useful for PvE. It lets you safely pick off enemies without getting close, but in PvP, it’s harder to land consistent damage. It’s a better pick for newer players or those who struggle with close combat. Against skilled players or fast bosses, though, it loses its edge quickly.
17. Pile Bunker (C-Tier)
Pile Bunker doesn’t hold up well in the current meta. Its damage is okay, and it has some combo potential, but overall, it’s clunky and lacks versatility. Most Gen 1 abilities are underpowered compared to Gen 3 options, and Pile Bunker is a clear example of that. It’s usable, but you’ll probably want to move on from it quickly.
