Exoborne Beginner Guide
The Glider
The Glider functions as a versatile tool to quickly get in and out of situations, relying on the always-shifting winds and temperatures that the ongoing climate apocalypse provides. The Glider however cannot be deployed when wet, so be careful about the tactical circumstances you find yourself in so you don’t expect to use it when you can’t.
The Grappler
The Grappler is connected to the Exo-Rig and is attached to a strong motor that is capable of pulling you toward a remote location, working both as a means to enter or escape, very much like the Glider. It takes a little while for the Grappler to retract after it has been used, so be prepared for a delay after using it.
Fall damage protection
Some of the world’s best engineers worked for Rebirth on building, prototyping and creating the technology that made the Exo-Rigs possible. Creating equipment that could withstand very tough conditions was a prerequisite for their construction. This includes their ability to withstand falling from great heights, being thrown by a tornado or falling from a very high location is all possible when wearing these Exo-Rigs.
Enhanced sprint capability
“All these tiny motors are not just for show, you can bolt in and out of contact quickly”
The four Exo-Rigs
This Playtest features four different Exo-Rigs. Each with its own strengths and weaknesses.
Baseline Exo-Rig: Coyote BXO
Baseline. The starting Exo-Rig for all Reborn. Has limited support for additional upgrades and only exists in one rarity. Has small room for armor upgrades and cannot carry any heavier weaponry. Still is much more versatile and powerful than not wearing any Exo-Rig.
The Viper STR1-5
Medium. The Viper is a very versatile platform at all ranges from its lethal close range blade dash, to its upgradability with both Active Augment Abilities and Support Augment Abilities, as well as increased upgradability of backpack storage. This Exo-Rig exists in five different Rarities. The Rarity 5 version can equip more modules, deal more blade dash damage, and instantly heals when performing a killing spree, for example.
The Kestrel EX1-5
Light, the most mobile Exo-Rig, has a jetpack capable of burst air-movement and airborne repositioning and hovering, but also versatile enough to be used solo. Like the Viper it has increased upgradability, as well as five different rarities. The Rarity 5 version can equip more modules, jump higher and hover for longer periods of time, for example.
The Kodiak OX1-5
Heavy, this is the Exo-Rig that is able to equip the heaviest weapons whilst also having the perk of greatly reduced incoming damage whilst sprinting. It withstands powerful tornado-force winds. Like both the Kestrel and the Viper it has more upgrade slots and exists in five different rarities, where the Rarity 5 version can carry two heavy weapons, equip more modules, and has increased tanking capacity whilst sprinting, for example.
